2 out of 5 eggsBeware! MSI P6N Platinum users

Pros: Looks great. I had high hopes.

Cons: As mentioned in previous reviews, the instructions are poorly written and the photos are essentially useless. Also, the base of the heatsink is unnecessarily large and ends up being oriented at a 45 degree angle to the processor. This was a deal breaker on my MSI P6N Platinum board since I could not avoid having the heatsink come over the top of one of the motherboard capacitors. I was struggling to get it to fit when I noticed it pressing down on one of them and starting to bend the capacitor and board! Yikes! Luckily, I posted without problem and am running nice and stable. I'm glad I noticed this right away but my concern is that people are used to the 775 heatsinks being a pain to install and will force it without realizing the problem.

Other Thoughts: Make sure that you dry fit this thing first and check all clearances at the heatsink base to make sure you have plenty of room! If you've already put this on and had a really tough time with it, it might be worth looking closley at your board to make sure you're not crushing a capacitor without realizing it. I gave it a two since there is a real chance someone could seriously damage their board. Yes, you should always check a fit before install but the problem can be hard to spot unless you're specifically looking for it. Why is the heatsink base so huge anyway and what's the deal with the Funky Z clip?

4 out of 5 eggsThermaltake delivers

Pros: runs very cool, very quiet. Can't hear it at all. All copper for great heat conduction. Works great with me q6600.

Cons: the stupid z shaped mount bracket doesn't need to look cool; it needs to work, the installation onto the processor was extremely difficult as the last pin just refuses to lock into place.

Other Thoughts: I rarely ever use instruction guides, but thermaltake really needs to make the pictures a little bit bigger so people can actually see whats going on. The reason for this is the fan sits at an angle on the processor, not straight across. That surprised me at first as I wasnt sure if the fan would cover the whole cpu. It does though.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the money

Pros: All copper construction, and a heavy duty fan make for another great product from thermaltake. I really am impressed with the performance of this heatsink, at 35C idle, and about 42 under load, i'd reccomend this to anyone looking for a good cooling solution.

Cons: The mounting isnt the easiest in the world, and hopefully you have clearance all around the heatsink mounts or your capacitors might get in the way. It's also hard to get the 775 mounting bracket actually in between the copper heat pipes and the copper base.

Other Thoughts: All in all, i really like this product, and believe that for a sub-$50 cooling solution, you cant go wrong!

5 out of 5 eggsCool CPU

Pros: - Excellent cooling system, my very hot CPU (P4 3400) which was running @ 86°c while playing F.E.A.R. is now running smoothly @ 42°c.
- Neat packaging and high quality product.
- Almost silent.
- The extra 2 rotatable fans to cool the north bridge, RAM and video card make the deal even sweater hence they are quite effective.

Cons: - Rather huge for a CPU cooler.
- Quite a hassle to install for inexperienced people.
- Not your average priced CPU cooler.

Other Thoughts: Very advisable product.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Looks really nice, kept my e6300 pretty cool.

Cons: Mounting method isnt the best out there, took several tries to get it seated properly, and once it got on there the idle temps were in the low 30s, but the load temps in TAT would jump up to 55c+ real quick.

Other Thoughts: Probably just my fault that it didnt cool as well as I hoped, it was my first after market hsf that I installed, but I have seen better built mounting pins (these were really "soft" feeling).

6 stars for the looks though.

3 out of 5 eggsCaution! EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR Buyers

Pros: Quality made and packaged.

Cons: Will not sit on a EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard. The capacitors that outline the 775 processor location sit too close not providing enough area to seat the heatsink. I did not rate this product poorly for quality, but for lack of information to limited compatibility with motherboards not stated within their advertisement.

Other Thoughts: Check thermaltake's website and they do not state anywhere about incompatibility's with any motherboards. They clearly state that this model serves the LGA775.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooling.

Pros: This makes 5 °C cooler generally. It is 24 °C as lower utilization like Internet, Word and MS Media center for music running. I never have seen more than 40 °C even 100% utilizing such as virus scanning as foreground. No over clock I make.

Cons: It is huge. You may need to remove air duct on case. Installation was not hard, however it should be careful for making bar on center exactly (guide is not really properly guiding in some cases), otherwise it is too much pressure on MB and CPU.

Other Thoughts: ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe Socket AM2, AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ (65W), COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW

5 out of 5 eggslarger than I expected

Pros: Good cooling. I went from a 34°c CPU temp to a 25°c temp. I think that it would be lower (it's cold in my house) if I did't slap in a new hard-drive & video card when I installed it. More stuff = more heat. Side fans and added bonus.

Cons: It's large. Very large for a "mini". Thankfully I did not get the Big Typhoon.

Other Thoughts: Definately worth getting over the regular MiniTyphoon. It's a dollar less and it the same exact thing with a couple extra bonus goodies.
