As computer processing advances, so does the heat generated by the CPUs - and the need to cool them. Thermaltake has long been an innovator in the realm of CPU cooling with many of its thermal strategies being adopted by OEM and other companies. The CL-P0370 TMG i1 continues this tradition with a system designed to reduce noise while moving over 35CFM of cooling air.

The frameless 92mm fan has a unique blade design to reduce backpressure and noise. The Enter Bearing design allows extra lubricating oil capacity to prolong fan life and ensure continued noise levels below 16dBA at its maximum 2500RPM. PWM functionality lets the system monitor the fan and adjust its speed depending on thermal need.

The anti-vibration design also prevents damage to the CPU caused by prolonged, excessive motion. Heat is drawn away from the processor by the four heatpipes embedded in the copper base and is delivered to the high-density aluminum dissipation fins. A simple push pin clip installation lets you mount the TMG i1 onto Intel Socket LGA775 processors without removing the motherboard. Intel Core 2 Extreme and Duo CPU's are supported as well as Pentium D, Pentium 4 and Celeron D chips.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The large copper base and 4 copper heatpipes conduct heat fast; high-density aluminum fins maximize heat dissipation surface area, plus a 92mm, 2500RPM cooling fan to deliver optimal cooling performance.
  • newegg PWM Function The PWM function automatically adjusts fan speeds according to the CPU temperature for efficient cooling and minimized fan noise.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent heatsink!

Pros: Keeps my computer nice and cool, even under the most heavy gaming sessions. Took my idle 45-48c from the Intel HSF to about 25c! Full load went from 60-70c to about 30c to 35c! Easy to install, works great under pressure, and is worthwhile if you don't want to fiddle about with taking your motherboard out.

Cons: Kinda sharp fins on the heatsink. Got a few nicks and cuts while installing it, but it's no biggie. It was worth it for this kind of cooling! Pre-applied thermal compound isn't too snazzy (Replaced it with MX-2 and it made a big difference).

Other Thoughts: I originally had my eye on the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, but it was out of stock due to the new revision. I needed a heatsink FAST, because the Intel stock HSF just wasn't cutting it for gaming, let alone DVD burning. I'm quite glad I bought this instead, it's exceeded my expectations.

5 out of 5 eggsVery quiet!

Pros: Thermaltake
VERY QUIET!
Works
Keeps CPU cool

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is a very nice heatsink/cooler... works great and is VERY quiet! I used this cooler with Artic Silver CPU paste and it keeps my system very cool... my CPU is an Intel E8400 and this keeps my CPU at about 32°C when idling and I haven't seen it go past 43°C when I'm pushing it.
One thing, this thing is MASSIVE!!! if you're using a micro ATX mobo with this it might be a bit tight...

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Fit for Asus P5E

Pros: My idle temps dropped 10C and Mem Torture Test temps were over 20C lower. The Fan/Heatsink are tall but not wide. It is a perfect fit for motherboards with a lot of heat sinks.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Running Intel Core 2 Duo 6850 overclocked to 3.4Ghz.
Temps Idle 29C and Torture Test never broke 55C.

Cons: Big

Other Thoughts: None really. I does what it's supposed to do.

5 out of 5 eggsworks great

Pros: Great cooling performance if properly installed. Intel stock cooler was running mid-high 40's idle temp, this keeps my chip around 28-32 at idle. Intel E8400 Wolfdale, not overlocked, for reference.

Cons: It's a beast to install, but every big fan is, so no more than most. I have a psu in the traditional spot at the top of the case, and I had to remove it to be able to reach one of the locking pins. Included thermal material is low quality, also no surprise. I wouldn't mind so much if they didn't pre-apply it to the block. Scrub it off, and replace with some arctic silver for better performance. I use arctic silver's cleaning kit for this, it works like a charm and you get enough in one kit to do many, many fan installs.

Other Thoughts: I'd say not really for the faint of heart. Don't buy this unless you've installed a fan at least a couple of times. You will probably end up moving or removing components to wedge the beast in there (of course, it would be much easier to install on a new build as opposed to after the fact). It would also be an issue with cases that have one of those plastic shrouds that fits over the cpu fan (had to remove the one from mine).

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: pretty big fan, make sure you have a big case!

4 out of 5 eggsGood Heatsink

Pros: Quiet, even at full load, keeps my E8400(@3.6Ghz) at 26-28C idle, ~50C load.

Cons: Uses the "punch down" style installation method, same as the box Intel cooler. Would not recommend if you plan on moving the system a lot.
Also, some of the fins on my unit were bent around the edges.

Other Thoughts: For the price, I would recommend this product, if you can spare a few more bucks, there are better heatsinks out there.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat product!

Pros: Fan cools way better than the stock one. Overclocked my e8400 to 3.6ghz and noticed that my temp went up only 5C

Cons: instructions say to push pins in then twist them to lock, i don't recommend that at all unless for some odd reason it's just my fan push pins that are weird.

Other Thoughts: Great fan for the price would highly recommend it to a friend or anyone for that fact.
