OverviewCustomer ReviewSpecificationsProduct Tour
As CPU processing power increases, so does the need to remove the damaging heat that increased power generates. Nowhere is this more truer than with overclocked processors which operate beyond their original specifications. The last thing a computer enthusiast wants when designing their machine is to cap it off with an ugly cooler. Thermaltake's CL-P0369 Max Orb brings the highest efficiency cooling to computer enthusiasts – and does it with style.

The heart of the patented design is a 120mm fan that sits at the middle of a radial array of cooling fins moving 86.5 CFM at its top speed of 2,000 RPM. Heat is drawn to the fans from the copper base through six heatpipes which cover the entire width of the base and swiftly distribute heat evenly for maximum dissipation. The open form of the fins allows increased airflow into the fan.

A VR Fan Speed Control on the unit allows the fan to be adjusted for optimal performance at noise levels between 16 and 24dBA. Blue LED's within the fan further add to the styling making the Max Orb a thing of beauty.

Very low CPU Temps

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Adjustable fan, cools very well.
Cons: Fan hits cooling fins at max speed out of the box. I had to adjust fins to get it to stop hitting. That's the only thing keeping from getting a full egg rating.
Other Thoughts: Keeps my E6600@3.3/1.425v running at 26 deg idle and just over 40 under load.

Not The Best.

Pros: I bought this to replace my Blue Orb II. I've got a e6600 overclocked to 3.33. My temps with the Blue Orb was around 39-42 idle and 51-55 load. With this cooler i'm getting 34-36 idle and 45-48 load. Not a huge improvement but now I can push my cpu further.
Cons: This size. Massive. A tad bigger than my Blue Orb, but it does move more air.
Other Thoughts: This is a great replacement for anyone that is a fan of the orb series. It is slightly bigger than the blue orb, but it's also lighter.

Great Cooler!!

white Reviewed By: Steve N on 1/27/2010

Tech Level Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
Pros: Easy to install on AM3 mobo (M4A79T) 955 BE
Did not have to remove board - just factory clip and replace with themaltakes' clip
COOLING IS GREAT
Cons: Fins bend easy
large but does the job
Other Thoughts: I replaced my ZALMAN CNPS 7500 AlCu LED 110mm which idled at 42 degrees maxed out with Prime 95 at 60 degrees.
Replaced thermal paste with Artic 5 -still could not get any lower.
Read Mr Frosty cooler reviews and thought it was worth a try - called ThermalTake with some questions first - got a tech who answered the phone on first ring.
The MaxOrb idles at 29-32 degrees and runs prime 95 at 39-40 degrees. No Comparison
I have the Armour MX case and am limited to cpu fans less than 110 mm - this fits fine

2 Years... 2 CPU's later... 5 eggs!!!

white Reviewed By: rich9cinti on 12/18/2009

Tech Level Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: Lower profile design. Blows towards MB and away towards ram. Lots of copper but chromed out. LED light is suttle. Quiet. Great temps for stock and overclocking.
Cons: Dated design. Round design can be tricky to get ram and wiring installed. Wish I could crank up fan speed higher :)
Other Thoughts: I've been using this since Dec. 2007. Two cpus later and still working like a champ. Phenom II 955 3.2Ghz at stock speeds running 31-33C idle, max load 48C but during gaming, averages around 44C. My room temps are around 68 to 72F. When I overclocked my older Phenom I 9500 from 2.2 to 2.55Ghz stable, my idle temps were 24C and max load was 31C.

I have yet to OC my 955 BE, but I have lots of room for max load temps.
