5 out of 5 eggsWorks As Expected

Pros: Using it for an i5 2400. I was looking for a cheap, minimal form factor heatsink, and this fit the bill. It does an excellent job of keeping my cpu cool enough, although I'm sure you would want something bigger if you were overclocking.

Cons: Probably wouldn't be big enough if you expected to overclock, but fine if you don't intend to!

1 out of 5 eggsToo good to be true

Pros: good hardware but cheap on accessories

Cons: The backplate does not fit over the resistors soldering on my tpower i55 v.5 motherboard therefore the heatsink is not flush with the cpu. Took me a few days to figure this out. I thought my power supply had died but I'm not so sure now. Will update when I try another fan/backplate that fits

5 out of 5 eggsbetter than stock fan

Pros: solid mounting/easy installation.

Cons: may not be suitable for over clockers

Other Thoughts: much better mounting system than stock intel i5 cooler. it has metal screws and a back plate for secure installation. the heat sink is also larger than the stock one. highly recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is how to do a product right.

Pros: Idiot-proof installation, whisper quiet and I expect the usual ThermalTake longevity. It even comes with the thermal paste pre-applied. No need to buy any separately.

Cons: None. Seriously.

5 out of 5 eggsIntel fan died and this one is 100 times better

Pros: Great fan, easy to install, well made. The Intel stock fan for an i5 was made so poorly that it seized up shortly after the build. This one does the job very well.

Cons: None

3 out of 5 eggsIncompatible

Pros: N/A

Cons: Though the product is stated to be compatible with Socket 1150, the heatsink was too wide and could not be attached to the motherboard (ASROCK Z87 Pro3).

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Cooling

Pros: Cools my stock 15-3550p great. Maximum Temp running Prime95 burn in test is 59c. Which is great. Fan is not too loud and you can setup automatic fan control on BIOS of your Mobo so its not always on full. Running battlefield 3 I never see temps (per core) go above 55c.

Easy install. Great solution over the stock intel fan. Mounting is tight and rigid. Seems very durable. Its large than the stock intel fan as well. If you plan on over-clocking huge amount then maybe going with a heat-pipe or copper solution with a larger fan is more wise. However, I can see this little guy handling a 500-800 OC with a voltage bump.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Cheap and sturdy. Buy it.

4 out of 5 eggsmounting screw broken

Pros: inexpensive, seems to get good reviews

Cons: 1 of the mounting screws broke when installing... looks like metal was crystallized... -1 egg for cheapness. should work with 3/4 though.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is the one to get.

Pros: Far superior mounting arrangement as compared to Intel's stock cooler. Very mechanically stable.

Easy to install, although you'll need access to the underside of the motherboard.

Fan is quiet at lower speeds and the unit cools fine.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Considering the cost of Intel processors, they should include a better quality cooler. (like this one)
