Great block
- Pros: Have two cooling my 9800gtx's great blocks and used on my previous cards as well. Great thing about these is how versatile they are. They cool well. Just be sure to put anti algae additive to your coolant no matter what your cooling loop is. My cards overclock well and do not overheat
- Cons: none I have experienced.
Works well, some advice
- Pros: It cools the GPU much better than the stock fan heatsink. Load temps dropped about 30C! Crysis went from 80's to 50's. Cheaper than full block models and can be reused on new cards pending new mounting sets.
- Cons: Plastic fittings seem kind of cheap. I bought some metal replacements from another site. Doesn't cool the whole card so you need another heatsink for memory and power circuits. I couldn't fit my air cooled card above this because the bolts attaching the block stick out too far.
- Other Thoughts: I got the Swiftech 285 chipset heatsink along with this. The combination seems to work almost as good as a full card block for half the cost. I had trouble using 3/4" OD tubing with this. The tubes fit but it's almost impossible to get a clamp or zip tie on to secure them. Use 5/8 OD tubing to avoid this problem.
- Pros: Works brilliantly. Dropped my vga temps by over 20 degrees Celsius from the stock cooling unit. Easy to install. Instructions are clear. The variation of adapters for different diameters of tubing was incredibly helpful. No leaks. Very slim, simple design that works great for any case.
- Cons: Didn't fit my nvidia Geforce 8800 gts as advertised in the specifications. I had to use my drill press to make holes in the mounting plate in order for it to fit my video card.
- Other Thoughts: Probably would have been great if it came with some vga heat sinks for the smaller chips that are left uncovered by removing the original sink and fan. Otherwise, very satisfied with this product.
