5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Stock 8800 GTS cooler was awful. After installing this bad boy and tossing on a variable speed 90mm fan, it literally dropped 20c. Idle is now 44c and maxes at 50c. Awesome potential for OC'ing.

Cons: No cons really, directions were kinda vauge though.

Other Thoughts: Sure it's big and you have to get a 3rd party fan but it cools very well. I had no warping after installing it. This is definitely recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Good/A Little Big

Pros: Idle around 42c - Load around 56c - Installed this puppy on a MSI 8800GTX. Installed latest (169.25) drivers. OC'd to 650core/1000mem/1490shader (610/1000/1350 stock). The cooler helped bring my 3dmark06 score from 10600 to 11700.

Cons: Directions could have been a "little" more clear. No fan comes with it, but I bought a nice Blue LED 92mm Zalman to put on it. It's kinda big. I'm going to be cutting it close for space with a Tuniq T-120 on the processor too. No problems with the ram heatsinks falling off...yet.

Other Thoughts: I had to face mine up because it would hit the sound card if it was below. So having it up and a Tuniq T-120 on the cpu means it blows the vid card air right up into the T-120.

5 out of 5 eggsHR-03GT for 8800 GT cards

Pros: Just a question, when is New Egg going to stock the HR-03GT version of this thing? I want one but I have an 8800GT card. From what I read, the mounting is a bit different for the GT cards.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: None

4 out of 5 eggsBig Big

Pros: Cools great even on load temps. 41c idle / 50c load.

Cons: Big. It is bending my 8800gts card bad.

Other Thoughts: Replaced with TT Dual-Orb. That one is doing great. After you get the Memory heat sinks on put a dot of hot glue at the top edge of heat sink and it will stay good....

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: Cools my Overclocked 8800gts better than stock by almost 30C. Installed and played Crysis and Gears of War at a much smoother pace than previous. Comes with Ramsinks and VRM coolers.

Cons: Ramsinks *DO NOT ADHERE TO RAM* after removal of stock cooler. had to use goo-gone to remove any traces of grease, then applied Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive to affix ram sinks as well as VRM's.

Other Thoughts: If you do use goo-gone (much cheaper than branded stuff) to remove traces of thermal grease, make sure to clean thoroughly with rubbing alcohol. Went the extra mile and bent the heat pipes to use the larger ramsinks on the rear, though this is not necessary as there are smaller sinks included.

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely Amazing!

Pros: Brought the idle temp down on my 8800 GTX from around 59C to 29C...haven't seen this thing go above 45C under load yet...and to top it all off the thing looks absolutely awesome!

Cons: wish it would have come with a fan but as well as this puppy cools ur card off i cant complain to much.

5 out of 5 eggsTRIUMPH & SUCCESS!!

Pros: Complete VICTORY!! This is the cream of the crop. I did a lot of research before buying another ”wonder product”. With the confidence of other’s reviews I bought the Thermalright HR-03 Plus. This is great! I cannot believe the temp differences from before. For the 8800 there is no better cooling product short of liquid cooling. The one thing I did different from the product’s instructions and everyone else’s recommendations was instead of installing a 92mm fan; I went with 2 ea. 80mm and mounted them side by side. They fit perfect with zip ties!! Also since I have a 680i MoBo and the motherboard fan being in the way I carefully bent the heat tubes out to 90 degrees from the MoBo. Remember the key words carefully bent. The heat tubes will kink if you take it too far but I had no problems.

Cons: The only problem is the thermal tape used to attach the memory heat sinks WILL NOT HOLD! Why Thermalright went to such great lengths to make this near perfect product and to skimp on something this simple? The tape that comes on them WILL NOT HOLD! I went to "the online auction site" since NewEgg does not sell any and bought double sided-thermal tape for a couple bucks and it solved all the problems with the heat fins falling off.

Other Thoughts: Bottom line -- THIS IS A MUST BUY PRODUCT! Buy the tape separate and just replace the old stuff on the heat sinks right from the start. Then you will have the PERFECT COOLING SYSTEM for your 8800

4 out of 5 eggsVery effective...

Pros: I installed the heatsink on an 8800GTS. I installed a 92mm fan to improve the cooling. I ran CoD4 at 1680x1050, maximum graphics quality, 4x AA and full texture filtering. The card reached 67C maximum over a period of 2 hours of play.

Cons: First and foremost, the heatsink doesn't include a fan. This isn't a major problem but a fan is really needed in order to take full advantage of the heatsink. The size is also a con due to the fact that after installing the heatsink with a 92mm fan the overall card space takes up almost 3 slots which almost eliminates the capability of running two cards in SLI. Last but not least, it isn't copper which makes no sense but it isn't a complete detriment to the heatsink.

Other Thoughts: When installing, use the Arctic Silver cleaning kit on the small RAM heatsinks to remove the adhesive. This takes about an hour if you want a good result. Use Arctic Silver adhesive for the RAM heatsinks and Arctic Silver thermal paste for the GPU. I only gave the product 4 stars due to its size and lack of a 92mm fan.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Well - Tough Install

Pros: I have 2 8800Ultras in SLI and this did make a significant difference in VGA temps 52/85+ idle and load with exceptional air cooling (10 case fans with great airflow). With these installed I am down to 42/65 (all measured by Everest). The optional fan is a must and I strongly recommend getting a good quality 92m fan to go with it. To the review below - they absolutely do work with Ultra cards and make a difference.

Cons: There are two install options - but even with these in mind you need to have a lot of room in your case. Copy the model number and google reviews on it as the first ones that pop up have great visuals on the install process. These take up to 4 slots in your case so make sure you have the room! If you SLI like I did, forget about any other cards in your spare slots (for me that is not an issue). Also, Ihad an issue where my Dominator Ram was too high and either the cooler or the ram had to go (I chose ram and went with standard size sticks with out the heat sinks). One less egg due to the sheer size. Also - do yourself a favor and just use Artic Silver Adhesive right out of the gate for the Ram heatsinks - otherwise they fall off.

Other Thoughts: Stacker 830 Case, 2 EVGA Ultras SLI'd, 4gigs DDR2 1066 Ram, EVGA 122-CK-NF68-A1 MoBo, 2 x Thermalright HR-03 Plus VGA coolers, ZALMAN CNPS9700 CPU Cooler, Core 2 Extreme QX6850 Kentsfield 3.0GHz

3DMark06: 15,378 (all stock speeds)

5 out of 5 eggsNice and Cold

Pros: As good as liquid cooling. Didn't get past 54 deg Celsius during 3dMark05. Idles at 41 deg C.

Cons: Don't kid yourself in thinking you don't need to attach a fan, but why wouldn't you want to?

Other Thoughts: I got the HR-03GT which is slightly different and is for the 8800GT series of cards. Not sure what the difference is but whatever. Newegg doesn't have the GT for sale yet, but I would imagine it will very soon. It's essentially the same as this one though. I got a silverstone 92mm fan to go with it. It's silent and effective. You must use a 92mm fan.
