5 out of 5 eggsLoud but proud

Pros: Used this to replace the annoying northbridge fan on my 780i. I used zipties to secure it and it feels very solid. Upon touching the aluminum frame it feels as warm as the rest of the heatpipe it is attached to. Moves a LOT of air but at a cost...

Cons: ...this fan is LOUD at 100%. Thankfully it handles my light overclocks at 60% just fine. BARELY cleared OCZ Vendetta CPU cooler. Had to install the fan onto the motherboard before mounting in case, or installing cpu and cooler.

Other Thoughts: If you use zip ties to attach this be careful not to over tighten and bend heat pipes or cooling fins.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Fan, Wrong angle:

Pros: A small and somewhat powerfull fan, I found it tolerable enough and moving quite a bit of air. Silver sheen and strong metal construction is nice, blades are plastic and somewhat shiny, but not in any way unattractive.

Cons: I noticed that I had mounted it backwards and was having it run contrary to the flow in my case. After a head scratching moment, I unscrewed it and reversed it to find out that it cannot be reversed, even once taken apart. So it's an extra now, but no fault of the fan, I can fault my eyes for that order.

Other Thoughts: So no fault on the fan, but merely on myself. Even with this bit of hassle it's a good fan and I plan to use it on something else in due time. And whatever it is will have an excellent fan ready for use.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Looks good, moves alot of air.

Cons: kinda loud. kinda thick.

Other Thoughts: Tried to use it to cool my northbridge better on my nforce 780i. it barely fit cuz its so thick and it was quite loud even on 50% speed (lowest setting in bios) I ended up using the 10 mm thick one here:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835119027

that one worked perfectly.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Fan

Pros: Fan pushes a good amount of air, and the aluminum frame is just the look I was looking for in my case. The noise is what I expect from a small 60mm fan, as it needs to run at higher rpms to achieve sufficient airflow.

Cons: Fan blades are plastic, which imo would rather have them made of actual aluminum, but of course there is very few case fans with metal blades. The screws they give you are worthless, don't bother trying to use them. I instead used hex head screws with a powered drill, then tapped each of the holes outside of the case (To prevent aluminum shavings and bits from falling into case).

Other Thoughts: If your planning on buying this for it's aluminum frame, first realize that aluminum will only conduct heat efficient if it's in direct contact of a heat source. So if it's an intake fan, it's not going to make things any cooler. I suppose it could SLIGHTLY lower the ambient temperatures if it's an exhaust fan, as the extra surface area from the frame then can be cooled by the air moving outside of the case from the fan itself, but I can't say for sure. I bought it for looks and because I wanted it to match it's 120mm and 80mm counterparts already in my case.
