1 out of 5 eggsDefective product

Pros: None, unable to install due to manufacturer product defect

Cons: Intel mounting kit: one of the four board standoffs was improperly tapped and threaded on one end (tapped out for screw larger than those provided). Result was that after mounting the backplate to mobo, which is secured by the mobo standoffs, mounting mobo in case, installing CPU in socket, applying thermal compound to chip, I could not secure the heat sink/fan at one corner, making the whole thing useless as a cooling solution, and necessitating uninstalling the cpu and mobo to get the stupid heat sink/fan backplate of the mobo!

Other Thoughts: Debating going through the hassle and expense of rma back to newegg of this defective product or just cutting my losses and getting a different brand: I note one of the other three reviews of this product indicated a problem with improper tapping of one of the mobo standoffs. 2 out of 4 reviews with the same rather trivial but critical manufacturing defect, 50% reject rate! Not too good.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good for the price

Pros: -Doesn't cover ANY of my RAM slots at all
-Direct touch heatpipes are a bit better for heat transfer
-Looks good :D

Cons: Mounting instructions could be a bit clearer and a bit better designed. If I were to set up the mounting brackets myself, I would've needed at least 3 arms to do so.

Other Thoughts: I don't claim to have the most knowledge about things like this, but I'd say this tower cooler punches well above its price point. Ambient temperature where I am is about 22 degrees Celsius; this cooler keeps it at 26 on idle and temps don't go above 62 when I'm gaming.

4 out of 5 eggsGood cooler, partially untapped standoff

Pros: Cooler works well. Normal mounting hassle for a multi-socket cooler. Fan is quiet but effective.

Cons: Big one: One of the standoffs was not tapped all the way through. I was able to fix it myself because I owned the right tap, but most users would have had to return it for another. Somewhat hard to follow instructions because all the cpu types are in one branching set, instead of new instructions per.

Other Thoughts: Probably I just got unlucky with the standoff.

5 out of 5 eggskeeps temps low

Pros: tall
comes with good fan
easy to mount fans
looks good

Cons: not as much thermal mass as i would have liked but plenty for the price.

Other Thoughts: I mounted this inside of a xigmatek asgard 381 using longer than normal mobo standoffs and it fits in the case great. the fan that is included works great and im running it on an i5-3570k OC to 4.4 ghz and my temps only get up to about 46C under full load.
