2 out of 5 eggsdoesn't hold up

Pros: Fan spins, air moves.

Cons: After a year of operation, the fan started getting noisy. By 13 months, it's the non-stop, extremely loud screech of a fan about to fail. By contrast, the 120mm case fans that have been in this computer for 5+ years still run nice and quiet.

Other Thoughts: I guess a $5 fan every year is the same price as a $25 fan every 5 years, but it's still five times as annoying.

1 out of 5 eggsAgain, you get what you pay for

Pros: None.

Cons: Fan immediately made a terrible scraping noise when installed.

Other Thoughts: Bought this from a local computer store, not newegg, and it was immediately apparent after installation that it was defective.

5 out of 5 eggsMasscool 4F01B4 90mm PCI Slot Case cooler

Pros: Neweggs price, on time delivery. These coolers work. I have a older one from a few years ago that is still in service. Cools fan-less cards perfectly.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Mine are each connected to a variable speed switch. Running at 100% shortens the life time and does not allow the cool air to be saturated by the heat. These need to be cleaned often of dust too.

4 out of 5 eggsMASSCOOL slot fan works great

Pros: Purchased this for a clients computer and installed, the fan is quite so far and do not hear it.

Cons: None at this time, will have to post later after client has had fan in system 6 months to 1 year. Gave it 4 eggs only because slot fan has been in system for 1 week to 3 weeks.

Other Thoughts: Like all MASSCOOL fans they move air well and are solidly built. I have been using MASSCOOL fans for years now and clients and myself like the results. If your look for a well built slot fan check out MASSCOOL!

1 out of 5 eggsJust 4 days and it's toast.

Pros: None.

Cons: Makes a terrible grinding noise after just 4 days in service.

Other Thoughts: Bought this in anticipation of my MiniITX server build. With not much room for case fans, this seemed like a great alternative to fill the single expansion slot in the case. At first, it was - temps were stable and a steady stream of warm air was being pushed out. However, after less than 100 hours in use, the fan makes a horrible grinding sound - signs that it is already failing. My assumption is that it may be due to its vertical installation rather than horizontal, as in most tower cases. Regardless, I will have to search elsewhere for a decent expansion slot fan, Masscool's is just junk.

3 out of 5 eggsOk

Pros: Moves decent amount of air

Cons: I bought two and both didn't look new, got visible scratch. What's more, one of them makes noise when it spins.

Other Thoughts: Should be recertified products, these looks like came from bad case cooler and got repaired.

4 out of 5 eggsawesome fan style

Pros: Strong air flow, really strong.

Cons: Other than the grinding noise these things make, the only Con is the PCI slot it takes up. ive owned mine for almost a year, and it still runs as good as it did the day i got it.

Other Thoughts: I bought mine on an auction site for far less, but Newegg is the way to go, my two came from asia, they took a month to get here, one was broken, I sent it in for an exchange and it never came back. The company shut down on me!!!!

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Moves a lot of air for the price.

Cons: Makes a horrible grinding sound. You know that sound just before a fan breaks? These make it right out of the box.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these for a couple machines i had running so-so video cards. Both of the fans make the same identical grinding sound after running for 30 mins or so. Then the sound stops, then comes back, then stops, then comes back... I suppose you get what you pay for but I would recommend spending a few extra bucks and getting something decent, even if it is for extra machines that don't run all the time. I'll be surprised if these fans make it through the winter.

5 out of 5 eggsLong-lasting, if taken care of.

Pros: Pushes a lot of air. It really does. I've had mine since April 2007 and it's still alive and kicking, but I take good care of it. Just goes to show how that extra bit of care can make a cheap investment turn into a long-lasting one.

Cons: Lots of maintenance involved. Dust magnet. Cheap feeling.

Other Thoughts: Mine's lasted for almost 4 years. If you take good care of it, it will last you a long time. Kept an 8800GT, a 9800GTX+, and an HD 6850 cool for 4 years. Seriously worth the price.
