The performance king has returned! The much praised Tuniq Tower 120 has gone through a radical redesign and not only looks cooler but its performance has been boosted. The unique wave-like fins display a tremendous visual impact and increase the air-contact area for an unprecedented thermal performance. The nickel-plated surface combined with the LED fan creates a breath taking visual effect!
To ensure that the maximum cooling performance is obtained, we have also included our highest performing thermal compound, the TX-3. Furthermore, our unique adjustable fan controller places the control in your hands!
Pros: - Awesome design, looks fantastic - Cools very well - Fan controller allows for changing between high performance and silent operation - Will fit in most cases - Excellent manual; much easier to mount that previous 120 IMHO
Cons: - Only allows for mounting in one direction (at least on my AM2/AM2+/AM3 board). I'm not sure if this is the case for LGA 775/1366. - The included TX-3 thermal past was a big let down. I had heard some reviews of it performing very well, but I just couldn't spread the stuff. It was like trying to apply a piece of American cheese to my CPU. It was clumpy and wouldn't adhere to the surface. I ended up using some AS-5 I had.
Other Thoughts: I picked this cooler for a few reasons. I have the original Tower 120 and it performs amazingly. The other reason was because it is short (150.7mm). I was able to put this in my CM ELITE 341, which NewEgg has listed as a MicroATX Mini-Tower. My only gripe is that I could only mount it with vertical airflow, towards the top of the case. I really wanted it to blow hot air sideways to my 120mm exhaust fan, so I had to fabricate brackets out of metal myself. Now I have a high-performing 120mm HSF blowing air sideways, perfectly lined up with my exhaust in a small case. I apply my paste using the credit card method. The included TX-3 might have been dried or something, it was impossible to apply.
This thing cools great, 10C cooler than stock on load. But please, don't go browsing NewEgg's reviews on this cooler's performance. Go find a professional review with a controlled bench test. Some people post horrible temps on here because they forgot to take the plastic off the HSF.

Pros: This is a update on my previous review. In my original review i put this cooler as Idle at 38'C, and load 48'C. I was wrong, after uninstalling and reinstalling ( I tested stock cooler), i got Idle 28'C, load 42'C. I am using a AMD Phenom II x4 965 140w, this is a pretty hot cpu, and if you use this on a 775 or am2/am2 or maybe tripple core am3 you will probably get way better temps. on intel 1156 you will probably get similar temps, and 1366 you will probably get higher temps (1156 and 1366 are bigger hotter cpus). So i would reccomend this cooler to amd users, and if you have a 955 pr 965 some ocing not 10ghz, but for all intel except 1366.
Cons: I would not use the included TX-3, if properly applied it will give you better temps than arctic silver 5, but TX-3 is like bubble gum and hard to spread, to find out for youself youtube.com/tjharlow he does a good a s 5 vs Tx3
Other Thoughts: This thing looks bad as*! The reason i got higher temps in my previous review is because that was my first time appling thermal paste (a s 5) but after romoving to try stock cooler i reinstalled tt1e with a s 5 and i think i got a better more even coat.

Pros: Does it's job very well and makes no sound compared to the rest of the machine it's in. Temps of 25c to 42c!
Cons: It's large... it doesn't work as a flux capacitor.
Other Thoughts: This is keeping a Phenom 9750 between 25c and 42c. I've not seen it go over 42c with hours of solid cpu work on BOINC. The heatsink/fan I had on here before this just didn't cut it, low was 36c and high was 78c!
The TX-3 was not that hard to spread once I figured out to just tap it to flatness with the side of a CC instead of actually trying to 'smear' it, works very well.

Pros: Looks cool and does the job
Cons: For the AM3 it covered up the first two ram sockets. It wasn't a problem since I have standard gskill ram but if I would have had the reapers or the dominators It would not have worked.
Ram needed to be installed fist.
The Thermal paste is very thick and hard to spread but it is non metallic. For an easier application just get the arctic silver 5.
Ram overlap and hard to apply thermal paste gives it 4 eggs
Other Thoughts: Really big, I have the arctic 7 and was stunned by how much bigger it was.
when I first installed it my system idled at 50 C, After a week it now idles at 35 C. If applied properly the tx-3 is better than the arctic silver 5. The problem is in the application
Phenom II x3
