The performance king has returned! The much praised Tuniq Tower 120 has gone through a radical redesign and not only looks cooler but its performance has been boosted. The unique wave-like fins display a tremendous visual impact and increase the air-contact area for an unprecedented thermal performance. The nickel-plated surface combined with the LED fan creates a breath taking visual effect!

The Tower 120 is the world’s first high-rise CPU cooler. You can tune the speed of the fan with the available controller. The 5 copper heatpipes embedded into the copper base easily transfer the damaging heat from CPU to the huge heatsink. With the airflow created by the ultra-silent magnetic fluid dynamic bearing fan, the heat is quickly eliminated.

For maximized contact between copper base and CPU, the high performance thermal grease is included. The cooler is easy to install and perfectly compatible with Intel LGA1156/1366/775 and AMD AM3/AM2+/AM2/K8 (754/939/940) CPUs. The Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme Universal CPU Cooler offers you an extraordinary solution for heat dissipation.

  • newegg Excellent Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The pure copper base and 5 copper heatpipes with Core-Contact technology conduct heat fast; high-density wave-like fins maximize heat dissipation area, plus a 120mm, 2000RPM cooling fan to deliver optimal cooling performance.
  • newegg Thermal Grease Included High-performance TX-3 thermal grease is available to ensure a perfect combination between the copper base and CPU for excellent heat conduction.
  • newegg Low Noise Level with MFDB Fan The Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme Universal CPU Cooler provides a LED ultra-silent 120mm Magnetic Fluid Dynamic Bearing fan, keeping the temperature low with under 16db noise level.
  • newegg Adjustable Fan Speed The Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme Universal CPU Cooler offers a PCI fan controller so you can fine tune the fan speeds for an optimal balance between cooling performance and noise level.
  • newegg Adjustable Position The Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme Universal CPU Cooler provides a fitting part so the cooler's position can be changed on AMD motherboards.

5 out of 5 eggs the beast

Pros: This tank has been keeping my CPU cool for over a year now without issue. And it looks awesome doing it.

Cons: Not necessarily a con, but It's a big sucker, but I got a full tower cooler master since I like lots of room on my builds.

5 out of 5 eggsDoesn't fit a 4U case very well

Pros: It kept my Phenom II 1055 pretty cool as I overclocked. I did have to really turn up some loud fans as I hit 4.0, and I never got it stable.

Cons: Stuck out above the 4U case opening about 2 mm. I was able to slide the case on still, but this would probably cause problems if I rack mounted it. I was a bit off in my measurement calculation of the inside space with the CPU, MB, and setters.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to water cooling since many units are self-contained.

4 out of 5 eggsBig, Challenging to Install, but effective

Pros: + Cools very well
+ Fan-speed is adjustable, and the fan is well-integrated into the cooler
+ Impressive looking
+ Big, but does not impede (and leaves room for) large memory sticks in 3 of the 4 slots on the Sabretooth 77 1155 board I put it on. Low profile memory would still go in the covered slot if necessary
+ LED lighting is subtle and very attractive.

Cons: + Tough to mount in the Sabretooth 77 board due to the fact it uses spring-loaded thumb nuts to hold the cooler down. The board's "thermal armor"blocks the space where you would normally put your fingers to tighten those nuts. The screws are slotted for a screwdriver, but there is no way to actually use that tool--the mounting screws (and the place you put the thumb nuts) are completely covered by the large cooler tower.

+ Adhesive on fiberboard washers is not enough to hold the backplate to the back of your motherboard, so You have to have a hand on both sides to the board to mount the cooler. Combine that with the difficult thumb nuts and it's a bit of a contortionist nightmare. Doable, but tough.
+ Finding the correct "tension" to tighten down to is a challenge. I had the MB refuse to post initially because I did not have the tension perfectly even from the four corner mounting points, and the cooler does not give you any way to really know when you have it "right". Trial and error.

Other Thoughts: On another build, I would not have had these challenges, but the combination of two very good products (the Asus Sabretooth 77 and the Tuniq tower) gave me fits with both.

5 out of 5 eggscooooool

Pros: Keeps my i7 2700k between 28-50C with ambient temps at about 18C +-3C

Cons: Not really a con but had to grab the Dremel to cut one the eyelets off for the mounting bracket so it would clear the motherboard heatsink.

Other Thoughts: Black shows dust very clearly.

4 out of 5 eggsMonster Fan

Pros: This unit is extremely efficient in cooling your CPU. It fits a large variety of mobos and is fairly easy to install. Adjustible fan speed is a great feature. It runs quiet even on high speed. Looks good in the case.

Cons: It is a large unit. It is difficult to fit on some mobos and is heavy. If you are using large memory cards and a smaller case it may not fit your application.

Other Thoughts: I used this cooler on an ASUS F2A85V mobo in a Apevia Mid case and had to remove the side cover fan to fit the unit. It is a very tight fit with Corsair Vengeance DDR3's and takes up a lot of room. It has worked great for keeping the CPU below 85 degrees so is perfoming very well.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Cut 20*Celc from my rig using Intel Burner using 16gb ram. Amazing CPU Cooler.

Cons: The blue LED is not very visible. Was expecting to see it between the fins but i have too much light as it is. If your tower is dark im sure it looks good.

Other Thoughts: Get it if you have the room and money Cool looking big and impressive block of metal.

5 out of 5 eggsExcelent AM3+

Pros: -Huge
-Lifted high over RAM slots
-Fits on AM3+

Cons: -Huge
-One direction for installment disallowed for easy access to RAM slots (bottom-top), I used the other direction (front-back)
-Directions a little unclear on how to install in other direction
-Difficult to tell which way the fan needs to be pointed
-3-pin connector for fan (does come with an expansion slot controller though)

Other Thoughts: An excellent, huge heatsink with a quiet fan. I purchased for my AM3+ slot Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7 motherboard, and it fits with no problems whatsoever. Make sure you have a large case, this thing is large. I used prolimatech's thermal paste. I believe I decided that the points facing down made the fan blow out the left side. 3-pin connector isn't a big deal, most motherboards support 4 and 3 pins without much fuss.
