Great way to add an intake fan to help get positive pressure in some cases. Looks fine. Has a low noise fan.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat idea, poor implementation

Pros: Good concept
Sturdy construction
Flexible installation

Cons: Design could be better, does not fit perfectly in standard 5.25 inch drive bays.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat concept but weak fan

Pros: Add another intake fan for your rig, very versatile, can be converted to HDD cooling bay, inexpensive and the installation wasn't that difficult either.

Cons: The included fan is very weak. I could hardly feel any air moving at all so I replaced it with one of the Scythe's S-Flex fans with higher CFM and now it's a lot better. Installation left gaps on both side like everyone else said (it's slightly narrower than a standard DVD drive). Manual included is somewhat useless as it doesn't contain much info at all.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to buy this from NE but they were out of stock so had to get it from somewhere else. The one I got is called Kama Bay + so not sure if it's the exact same thing. Mine has a slightly better filter but still a pain to remove.

5 out of 5 eggsLife savior

Pros: This fan is life savior!!! My temps where getting really high after I put another GPU for crossfire. I thought, I'll give this fan a shot before converting to water cooling, and guess what?.... My temps went lower then they were before. I know how some people complained about fan being slow, but it works well for me, and on the plus side it's silent unless you have super hearing, or don't have speakers on your comp.

Cons: Every vendor was out of stock on black ones. But silver doesn't look bad on my black/blue case.

Other Thoughts: I removed the filter for better air flow, because I blow my case regularly. Another thing helped me lowering temps with this fan is good cable management. Make sure you clear them out of the air flow, even if it makes your case look bad.

4 out of 5 eggsGet this if you need more intake

Pros: I suspected that my case needed additional intake fans because my Core i7 920 would top out at 95C under torture testing at stock voltage (1.2V, 3.4GHz), while it would only hit 75C with the side panels of my case open at 24C ambient. I popped the KAMA BAY into my case and now it only hits 81C with the side panels closed.

Cons: Installation is harder than it looks, especially to get the entire frame placed perfectly centered with respect to the rest of the front casing. I shudder at the thought of taking the whole thing out just to clean the filter, and then putting the whole thing back in.

Also, the whole system is a little bit noisier than before. While the fan that comes with the KAMA BAY is pretty much silent, the big hole for intake does allow more of the internal noises to leak out.

Other Thoughts: I have a Hiper Osiris case that has a single bottom front 120mm intake, a top rear 120mm exhaust, and a top 120mm exhaust. Inside the case is a Noctua NH-U12P w/ 2 fans cooling the CPU. I suspected that I was lacking intake to cool the CPU because of the huge temperature difference with the side panels on vs with the side panels off, and because I already had more exhaust fans than intake. The KAMA BAY helped a great deal by feeding cool air in a straight path directly to the CPU, whereas the bottom intake fan is directing air to the HDDs and GPUs.

As others have mentioned, there will probably be a small gap on either side after installation because the KAMA BAY is actually slightly narrower than a standard DVD burner. However, after some effort getting the KAMA BAY centered in the case opening, it looks perfectly at home in the Hiper Osiris.

4 out of 5 eggsCould be better

Pros: Looks really nice on the outside, makes case look great. Great idea for those like me who have 3 unused bays just wasting space.

Cons: Poor fan, swapped out with a Antec 761345-75026-4 120mm Red LED. Poor design with gapping around edges, poor fit. Gaps and fan, minus 1 egg.

Other Thoughts: Gaps around the case are just ridiculous oversight, should be fixed by manufacturer or they should include some type of gasket.

3 out of 5 eggs2mm gaps

Pros: Drops your Case temp by a few degrees (8deg) looks nice in the case. once you fix the gaps around the edges I took 1 egg away for gaps and 1 egg for Fan

Cons: Fan isn't worth plugging in only 800RPM low CFM, fan replace before installing, 2mm gaps around the edges I used a thin foam double sided tape to fix the problem, I would prolly look at other offerings if i was to do it again. prolly wouldn't buy again

Other Thoughts: R&D should of done a little more work before putting something out that don't fit 99% of the cases without a gaps

5 out of 5 eggsScythe Kama Bay

Pros: I have this fan in my 3-5.25" bays for intake. When I first booted after install, my GPU was -3c cooler and my 6700 dual core was -2 to-3c cooler at idle!! I did replace the fan with a 120mm IPCQUEEN blue LED which makes a difference from the fan that comes with it. Looks better too!!!

Cons: None so far!!!

3 out of 5 eggsNot perfect but not bad either

Pros: Quiet, high quality construction, improves airflow without having to cut holes in my case.

Cons: Very weak fan, takes 1/2 hour + to clean dust filter and then another 1/2 hour to pull the thing back out of the computer, flatten the dust filter and install it again so it doesn't make a bunch of noise. Doesn't fit perfectly in the 5.25" bays and leaves small gaps all the way around.

Other Thoughts: Although the construction quality is great, the fit is less than perfect. I wish the dust filter was easier to get to for cleaning and the retention clips for the filter worked better. That said, it did drop the temps inside of my case by a few degrees and I consider it a worthwhile investment overall. I wish I had bought the kit from Newegg because I paid 5 bucks more for it elsewhere.

5 out of 5 eggsPerforms well and nice design

Pros: Great airflow and good looking.

Cons: A bit difficult to install in a case where there are not screws, just screw less latches...

Other Thoughts: Would be nice to have a USB connection adapter for external use.
