5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler

Pros: Keeps CPU extremely cool with two 120mm high flow fans in push/pull configuration. Picks up a lot of dust, so I clean it every couple months. I had never installed a heatsink that needed a backplate installed, but this wasn't hard to do. It helps a LOT that the back panel of my case comes off to expose the backplate area of my motherboard easily.

Cons: Pretty big, but it did fit my motherboard and case. I could see where smaller cases or motherboards could cause issues, especially where the RAM slots could run into a fan attached to this heatsink. I have a few centimeters clearance between my fan and the first RAM slot.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat heatsink; quite big

Pros: Keeps my overclocked i5-2500k cool. I have yet to see working temps above 45º C in my Silverstone Raven. The idle temps are currently 32º C.

Cons: It's very tall. I have less than 1cm clearance between the top of the cooler and the side of my case.

Other Thoughts: I have 1 Noctua fan pulling air thru this thing. I don't plan to add another - it doesn't seem necessary.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper Duper Cooler

Pros: Excellent Cooler. Stock cooler temps were close to 100. They dropped down to 73 or so with this cooler. Nice and solid construction.

The best part and the reason for buying the cooler is the noise factor. Stock cooler sounded like a model airplane. I can't even tell if this one is running or not. I have to look at the temperature guage to check.

Cons: GIGANTIC!!!!!! I never saw such a big cooler in my life! It is so tall it almost goes all the way across the giant sized full tower case it is in!

Other Thoughts: Buy this. It is the greatest!

5 out of 5 eggsLarge

Pros: Keeps it cool. Idle temp is 20-22 C and the highest I have seen under load is 44 C.

Cons: It is large. Knew that going in, so not knocking an egg for it, but don't kid yourself about the size.

Other Thoughts: Works with a ASRock P67 EXTREME4 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard as long as you

a) put the memory in first. I had to reinstall it because it covered 2 memory slots.

b) your memory does not have super high heat sinks. My memory fits fine, but it is a consideration.

4 out of 5 eggsIt Does it's thing!!!!

Pros: It WORKS!!!!!! Keeps my i7 920 cool and cruising. The fans(I added a second for push/pull) run silent for normal operation, but can be heard when system is pushed hard. I don't overclock so that is rare for me.
I purchased this after reading several reviews and customer comments and am satisfied.
Did I mention it really is quiet, even with the (2) fans.
It just WORKS!!!!

Cons: See below*

Other Thoughts: Not really a con but more of an consideration....It is HUGE!!!! As previously mentioned. Make sure and measure twice, otherwise you'll have a honking paperweight because it doesn't fit.
Installation was really no brainer as well.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome deal.

Pros: Solid! My very first build, on a budget, wasn't sure what sink to buy, but I'm glad I went with Scythe. Mounted perfectly in NZXT Gamma case with a PhenomII+ASRock M3A770DE board with no problems. Mounting hardware is heavy duty.

I have the sink's fan mounted over the memory, with a Scythe Ultra-Kaze sucking air out of the back. Have yet to see it go over 44c.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Come on, you can't list being huge as a con. It's a 120mm heatsink, of course it's HUGE.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Intel Q9300
Stock heatsink - idle: 52C - 100%(h264encoding):75C
Scythe NO FAN -idle:39C - 100%(h264encoding):52C
-Universal
-Solid build
-Easy installation
-Silent (no fan needed if you have a good flow in the case)
-Price

Cons: -No major cons

Other Thoughts: I have a intake fan 120mm low rpm and a exhaust fan 80mm@5V + psu 120mm.
Its enough to get those temp. Average temperature case : 30C (room was at 23 when I did the test).
-With a ssd, its really noiseless.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Incredibly impressive cooling. This cooler was recommended to me as well, because of the price to performance ratio, and I have to say I am impressed :)

I have a 955BE and with the stock cooler (no overclocking) it was idling at 40C and would full load around 65C

I am now running my 3.2 955 at 3.8Ghz and it idles around 30C and full load at 53C !!!! Amazing

Cons: not really a con.... but it is huge, made it difficult to get the fans (i added another 120 to it) in there, because my RAM would get in the way, but the mounting method of the fans allows you to "slide" them up or down to make more room... but this makes it to where they are slightly off, but as you can see it does not hinder it too much :)

Other Thoughts: Installing took me less than 20 min (including reading manual) And I recommend this cooler to all that i speak to about air cooling

System Specs:
Case - NZXT LEXA S
CPU - AMD Phenom II 955 BE O.C. 3792MHz
RAM - G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
MB - ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3
GPU - XFX HD-685X-ZNDC Radeon HD 6850
PS - Ultra X4 750Watt

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Great cooling (31/45 idle/load on my Q6600)
Basically silent (great temps with just ~550 RPM)
Solid mounting mechanism (inspires much more confidence than those little plastic Intel pins)

Cons: Big (but still fit in my Antec Sonata III no problem at all)
Mounting requires a small amount of head scratching and somewhat more work than Intel push-pins
Attaching the fan using the thin metal wires is a pain. Tip: use Scotch tape

Other Thoughts: When I unpacked this thing and saw how big it was I wondered how it would possibly fit, but it turned out to be no problem. This is a great choice for (near-)silent computing. It is surreal to turn your computer on and see the fan spinning but not hear any noise at all.

4 out of 5 eggsGood cooler - but not beginner-friendly.

Pros: Works well on my ASUS P8P67-PRO. Keeps the CPU rather cool. Flexible fan mount is quite convenient. Newegg shipped this along with the rest of my build very quickly.

Cons: Not an easy install (stay clear if you're a beginner). The first time I did it I put the retention clips in the wrong direction, and thus the UEFI BIOS kept reporting CPU overheating. I had to take down and reassemble the whole thing (including motherboard, as it relies on a thermal pad at the back of it) to get it fixed.

No instructions for LGA 1155 motherboards such as mine, but using the LGA 1156 instructions worked fine. However, others did note that some LGA 1155 motherboards will not support this cooler so easily.

Lastly, and probably most importantly, CONSIDERABLY larger (both height and width) than expected. Low clearance on the RAM slots...my G-Skill Ripjaws RAM wouldn't fit in the first two slots as a result. If you do get this consider getting RAM sticks with very low or no heat spreaders/heat pads.

Other Thoughts: I like this cooler quite a lot, but considering this was the first heatsink I had to assemble and install, it was a lot more of a hassle than expected. But the results are worth it.
