The Freezer A30 is an enthusiast-grade CPU cooler for the AMD socket FM1, AM3+, AM3, AM2+ and AM2. Exclusive technologies, direct touch heatpipes, precision machining, a fan vibration absorption and a brand new mounting system offers you plenty of overclocking headroom at a minimal noise level.

  • newegg 4 Mounting Directions The Freezer A30 can be mounted in all 4 directions in order to satisfy different air flow preferences due to various PC case and hard ware configurations.
  • newegg Direct Touch Heatpipe Heatsink The Freezer A30 heatsink consists of 4 double-sided direct touch heatpipes, 8mm in diameter. A unique process (20 2011 000 71.8) allows us to pack the heatpipes without gaps and thus increase the contact surface and achieve better flatness by precision machining - both leading to an improved heat transfer.
  • newegg Efficient Heat Dissipation As a combined result of the 4 direct touch heatpipes, 48 Aluminum fins, an interchangeable 120 mm PWM Fan (ARCTIC F12 PWM), and the famous ARCTIC MX-4 thermal compound (included), the Freezer A30 offers superior cooling performance with a maximum cooling capacity of 320 Watts and lots of headroom for overclocking.
  • newegg Virtually Silent Due to the low-noise impeller of the ARCTIC F12 PWM fan and the rubber vibration absorbers, the Freezer A30 generates a negligible noise level of only 0.3 Sone even at full speed (1,350 RPM). Furthermore, as controlled by PWM signal, this fan runs only at the optimized speed based on actual needs, which in turns minimizes the noise level further.
  • newegg Sturdy Mounting Mechanism There is no need to worry about the weight of this muscular, yet gentle cooler. The Freezer A30 applies a durable steel mounting clip and a back-plate*. As a result it has an excellent mounting stability and is fully transport-proof.( *Back-plate is integrated in original AMD retention module already.)

3 out of 5 eggsFair

Pros: This can cool a computer down to half the temperature of the room if your idling, With a good thermal paste you can rely on this cooler for some. It is very quiet, I have never heard it - of course I have never run this as the only fan in the case so the other fans were just louder at least.

Cons: This does not maintain temperature well under stress. I can probably run my 8 core CPU (5GHz) for half an hour before the CPU has to slow down because it is reaching temperatures too high to work in. That is just a worse case scenario produced during benchmarking, I do not believe I will ever need to run at 100% for half an hour but previous coolers have done better.

1 out of 5 eggsPackage arrived with nothing but the cpu cooler..

Pros: I'm sure it works fine

Cons: Well box arrived I opened it up ready to install and get gaming again, but now mounting assembly or screws to put it on with..... left completely useless.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome cooling power

Pros: Keeps my AM3+ nice and cool. Quiet, efficient cooling.

Cons: Size - WOW this thing is massive. at several inches square, this thing is more than big enough to interfere with things on some boards. Fortunately mine has clearance and didn't cause any issues

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: great cooling power even on my 220w cpu..

Cons: king of big and can get in the way of ram slots but can be turned in any direction to avoid this problem... but that also means you have to turn all your case fans around as well so the air is all going in the same direction..

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME Cooler!

Pros: -Incredibly quiet, barely hear it spin up
-Low price (I got it on sale)
-8 Heat pipes + Good fan= amazing temps. (FX-8150 idling at around 15-20c, overclocked to 4.2 Ghz)
-Fits well in my Source 530
-Stable.
-Cool looking!:D

Cons: -Quite big. Almost blocks my RAM, make sure you can fit it in your case and will not interfere with anything else on the motherboard.
Not much else I can say, haha.

Other Thoughts: My water cooler broke after a month and a half and I wanted something a bit more reliable and this was a very good choice. Just a fan and some fins and pipes- nothing more! Simple and effective.

4 out of 5 eggsBig But Works

Pros: Even with an AMD AM3+ CPU running at 4Ghz and Prime95 and the paste that came with it, temperatures never rose above 39 degrees Celcius. The copper ribs were barely luke warm to the touch.

Cons: The heatsink is very massive. Even with a Mid to full size tower, the heatsink is within a half inch of the side panel.

Other Thoughts: Two things: Add another two inches to the size for the ribs to the CPU plate that touches the CPU.

Also, I literally kept my fingers on the copper ribs while Prime95 ran for 5 minutes (blended test with 32 GB of Memory) and it didn't even get past luke warm. 8 cores, 100%. Impressive.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great replacement for factory fan.

Cons: Fan died after 1 year.
6 year limited warranty from factory doesn't exist.
No contact from support at Arctic.

Limited Warranty:
ARCTIC grants a limited warranty to its direct customers. The granted period of warranty ARCTIC offers to its direct customers exceeds mostly the local regulations. The warranty a dealer grants to its customer is not depending on ARCTIC. ARCTIC doesn't offer a manufacturer warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsHuge

Pros: huge, so it stays cool

Cons: huge, so it's hard to fit

Other Thoughts: it comes with brackets to make it turn sideways and it fit ok, but my case can't fit the bracket with another fan on it

3 out of 5 eggsThis thing is HUGE

Pros: Gets the job done, and super quiet. despite its size, the airflow seems to be pretty decent.

It is,in fact, extreme.

*IF* you've got enough space to fit this monstrosity in, then you'll probably be pleased.

Cons: This cooler is HUGE. The pictures and the other comments just don't do that point justice. It's like putting mud tires on a Honda Civic.

I barley got my ram to fit in, and in order to fit it into my case I had to use some unconventional strategies.

Make sure you have plenty of distance between your CPU and your ram, or make sure your ram is super low profile.

Make sure your case is ginormous, or else your side-fans on your case may not fit in with it.

Finally, this will probably obstruct your top PCI or PCIe slot.

Other Thoughts: Be careful where you point the thermal paste. They don't give you extra if you mess up.
