The Freezer A30 is an enthusiast-grade CPU cooler for the AMD socket FM1, AM3+, AM3, AM2+ and AM2. Exclusive technologies, direct touch heatpipes, precision machining, a fan vibration absorption and a brand new mounting system offers you plenty of overclocking headroom at a minimal noise level.

  • newegg 4 Mounting Directions The Freezer A30 can be mounted in all 4 directions in order to satisfy different air flow preferences due to various PC case and hard ware configurations.
  • newegg Direct Touch Heatpipe Heatsink The Freezer A30 heatsink consists of 4 double-sided direct touch heatpipes, 8mm in diameter. A unique process (20 2011 000 71.8) allows us to pack the heatpipes without gaps and thus increase the contact surface and achieve better flatness by precision machining - both leading to an improved heat transfer.
  • newegg Efficient Heat Dissipation As a combined result of the 4 direct touch heatpipes, 48 Aluminum fins, an interchangeable 120 mm PWM Fan (ARCTIC F12 PWM), and the famous ARCTIC MX-4 thermal compound (included), the Freezer A30 offers superior cooling performance with a maximum cooling capacity of 320 Watts and lots of headroom for overclocking.
  • newegg Virtually Silent Due to the low-noise impeller of the ARCTIC F12 PWM fan and the rubber vibration absorbers, the Freezer A30 generates a negligible noise level of only 0.3 Sone even at full speed (1,350 RPM). Furthermore, as controlled by PWM signal, this fan runs only at the optimized speed based on actual needs, which in turns minimizes the noise level further.
  • newegg Sturdy Mounting Mechanism There is no need to worry about the weight of this muscular, yet gentle cooler. The Freezer A30 applies a durable steel mounting clip and a back-plate*. As a result it has an excellent mounting stability and is fully transport-proof.( *Back-plate is integrated in original AMD retention module already.)

2 out of 5 eggsGreat sink surrounded by rubbish

Pros: Great heatpipe and fin design on the actual sink itself. Moves heat well in spite of itself.

Cons: Very poor build quality of fan shroud and mounting brackets. The mount spacers use little sticky rings that are a nightmare to use properly, especially if you have big fingers, or they weren't perforated well, or the backing doesn't want to release the sticky stuff, or the sticky pad was stuffed into the box so tightly that it was ruined.

The fan shroud is a single piece of plastic with 4 screws that have hex-wrench heads, but no hex wrench is supplied. The screws aren't set into the fan, so unless you have the right hex wrench, you fan will be loose. And even if you could tighten the screws, there are sticky rubber rings around the screw holes on the fan, and none of them were aligned properly, usually blocking the actual hole.

The fan shroud also has no cover on the exposed side, so be careful where you put your fingers while its running.

And the two screws that hold the base of the sink to the mounting brackets are small, cheap, and easily stripped if your screwdriver slips.

Other Thoughts: If the build quality of the shroud and mount were on the same level as the actual sink, this would be an excellent product. But it seems as though they bought someone else's sink and then did a bodge job on the rest.

4 out of 5 eggsMASSIVE

Pros: Powerful cooling with near silent operation

Cons: SIZE, running this in an azza solano 1000r case was unable to get side panel closed, very very massive 162cm tower with clunky plastic mounting for fan. MoBo also does not read the CPU fan as working, causing an irritating fan error at boot.

Other Thoughts: For performance at all costs at the 40 dollar mark, you cant beat it.

4 out of 5 eggsSeems to do the trick

Pros: Peace of mind. I know my server isn't overheating now. Ability to add a second fan to the heatsink in extreme cases.

Cons: Like most after-market coolers, it's quite tall in the case, and is likely to interfere with ram slots.

Other Thoughts: Erratic fan readings in BIOS - may not be true PWM fan, or could be motherboard, who knows.

5 out of 5 eggsCPU rarely break 40°C

Pros: Easy installation on GA-990FXA-UD3, I face it to the left and it does not block off RAM access. Even with AMD FX-6300 overclocked, it is cool during the 3DMark test and most gaming. It's also very quiet.

Cons: It's huge, it sticks out a little under 7 inches from the motherboard

5 out of 5 eggsVery Big CPU Cooler

Pros: Hello Folks,
I am giving this product a 5 egg rating even though I did not have the honor to install it due to its size.
The quality of this cpu cooler is very good and I am sure it would have kept my cpu cool.
The reason for me not being able to install it is in the con section.

Cons: The reason I was not able to install is was because this cpu cooler is very big both in width and height.
Folks , when you decide to get a cpu cooler make sure the Ram is not in the way before you buy it because I bought ram that had very thick heat spreader which prevented me to install it and since I could not install it in the opposite direction cause that would have made the direction of the air flow into the ram is not good as well so I had to return it and buy a water cooler so if you have ram that has no heat spreader on it then you should be safe.

Listed below is my computer build information which could guide you on your purchase.

P.S.-Buyers just to let you know Newegg helped me through this problem and worked with me as best as they can and I will never buy computer parts any where's else and only with Newegg because of their Professional Staff and kindness they have showed me.

2 out of 5 eggsFan failed after six months

Pros: Good heat sink

Cons: Bad fan

Other Thoughts: The fan's no good, but the heat sink still keeps things fairly cool for me. If I were overclocking or running a hotter CPU I'd have probably had trouble, though.
