Pros: Very quiet--at first.

Cons: After only 15 days, my fan started making a horrible grinding sound when it was powered on. The noise eventually quiets down somewhat, but frankly I was expecting better.

Other Thoughts: As another reviewer said, it's good that it's quiet, but more importantly, it needs to be reliable.

very quite fan

Pros: This is the first really quite 40mm I've found. Testing on the bench in a quite lab, I had to put it within 1' of my ear to hear it at all. It can't be heard over the other fans in the computer.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It likely will get noisy as dust accumulates on the blades, but this is true of any fan.

Double Failure

Pros: Quiet at first.

Cons: Bought two of these to replace the very loud fans in a 3-Com switch. They kept the switch cool enough, but after a few months one of them started making a horrible grinding bear noise and the other had slowed down to the point where it was not pushing any useful amount of air.

Other Thoughts: Silent is nice but reliable is more important.
