4 out of 5 eggsLoud at full power

This review is from: Rosewill 80mm Computer Case Fan (Case Cooling Fan) - Sleeve Bearing, Silent Fan with LP4 Adapter; RFA-80-K

Pros: Moves air well, even with fan filters added in front. Braided black sleeving. Includes adapter for 3-pin fan to molex and eight fan screws.

Cons: At full speed, these fans are loud. There is a noticeable whine. Even with fan filters and mounted inside a cabinet. Red/yellow/black wires show through cheap sleeving. White connectors.

Other Thoughts: I purchased two of these fans to mount on a cabinet door for ventilation of a PC tower. They do the job, so I can't take off too many eggs, but I currently have them connected with the molex adapter and they are much louder than the replacement fans. Quality is cheaper, but I wasn't expecting top-notch at this price. I may use the 3-pin connection to regulate the speed better, but I really wanted to have them on at 100% whenever the PC is running. One egg removed for noise.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Fan

This review is from: Rosewill 80mm Computer Case Fan (Case Cooling Fan) - Sleeve Bearing, Silent Fan with LP4 Adapter; RFA-80-K

Pros: Sleved cable
comes with 3 pin to molex adapter
comes with more than enough screws
accessories come in a separate little box.
Box is easier to open vs plastic clamshells some fans arrive in.

Cons: None to speak off

Other Thoughts: Been running two of them 24/7 for about two months now without issue. They seem decent quality, and the sleeved cable is nice. I like how the accessories come in thier own box inside the main box. If you don't need them, you can throw the box in with your tool bag so you have an emergency set of fan screws and adapter. So long as I get a year+ out of them running 24/7 in my server in the basement, I will be happy with the purchase.

This review is from: Rosewill 80mm Computer Case Fan (Case Cooling Fan) - Sleeve Bearing, Silent Fan with LP4 Adapter; RFA-80-K

Cons: none really, most 80mm fans are loud anyway.

5 out of 5 eggsStill works fine, good for simple needs

This review is from: Rosewill 80mm Computer Case Fan (Case Cooling Fan) - Sleeve Bearing, Silent Fan with LP4 Adapter; RFA-80-K

Pros: I always wait at least a year before reviewing stuff on Newegg, and this is no exception.

After about 15 months, the fan still works fine. It generates sufficient air for general purpose cooling, and the bearing has not failed... despite being a value-oriented 'sleeve' bearing, and an inexpensive fan overall.

Cons: It could be quieter. Obviously I'm not measuring scientifically, but I am pretty sure it's slightly louder than the 22 dBa quoted, because I have another fan quoted at 26 dBa that seems less audible.

Other Thoughts: I like Rosewill, and this fan works for general needs

If it's a specialized fan you are looking for (like one to attach to an aftermarket CPU cooler, or to cool high-RPM hard drives), then I'd recommend stepping up to a high-end fan. For example, if its to attach to a heatsink, then look to a specialized dual ball bearing fan that has high static pressure.

But if this is just a general chassis fan for basic scenarios, it's a good buy.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Invention

This review is from: Rosewill 80mm Computer Case Fan (Case Cooling Fan) - Sleeve Bearing, Silent Fan with LP4 Adapter; RFA-80-K

Pros: *It somehow takes air from all around us and projects it into one direction, preferably bringing cool air into your case, or hot air from the case. Whoever invented this deserves the Nobel Prize for this.
*Easy to install.
*Quiet
*Comes with spare screws in case the screw goblin stops by and eats your current ones.
*Arrow which points out airflow direction on side for easier planning

Cons: *This fan is for semi technologically conscious people, comes with no instructions at all.
*should state on the instructions or on the box that it has an arrow stating airflow direction

Other Thoughts: *It somehow takes air from all around us and projects it into one direction, preferably bringing cool air into your case, or hot air from the case. Whoever invented this deserves the Nobel Prize for this.
*Why haven't we been alerted to this technology? Shame on you for withholding it from us.
