Rosewill offers "the best choice in value" with a range of CPU coolers that offer high end features and performance at value prices. The FORT120 offers features found on many more expensive coolers. It has 4 large exposed 8mm pure copper heatpipes at its base which directly contact the CPU for highly efficient thermal conduction, plus 6 pillars to increase heat transfer and strengthen the cooler structure.

A 120mm 7-bladed fan is attached vertically to the array of hi-grade aluminum fins. It blows an impressive 99 CFM of cooling air at a maximum 2300 RPM. PWM functionality lets the computer automatically adjust the fan's speed to as low as 700 RPM depending on thermal need which will reduce its already quiet 30 dBA noise signature to even lower levels.

The FORT120 is compatible with all single- and multi-core CPUs for Intel's Socket 775/1366 and AMD’s Socket /AM2+/AM2/754/939. All the clips and backplates are included so there's nothing else to buy to get the unit attached to your motherboard in minutes.

  • newegg Direct Touch Technology The Rosewill FORT120 features heatpipe direct touch technology for efficient heat conduction.
  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation Four 8mm copper heatpipes and high-density aluminum fins maximize heat transfer and dissipation.
  • newegg Stonehenge Technology Stonehenge Technology uses six pillars to wick heat away from the contact base and strengthen the cooler structure.
  • newegg 120mm Cooling Fan with PWM Function The 120mm cooling fan with PWM function automatically adjusts speeds according to the CPU temperature for the optimum balance between cooling performance and noise level.
  • newegg Core i7 Compatible Compatible with the socket LGA1366, the Rosewill FORT120 supports Intel's latest-generation Core i7 processors. It also features broad compatibility with AMD socket AM2+/AM2/754/939 platforms, as well as the Intel LGA 775 platform.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Took my idle temp from 38-41c not OC to 31-33c when OC. Full load under prime95 from 65c not OC to 47c when OC.

Cons: It is a little cheap feeling but if you are careful when you put it in you should be just fine

Other Thoughts: I am running a AMD Phenom II X4 925 Deneb 2.8GHz OC to 3.04. So far i am happy with it but i have not had it long. The fan is NOT LOAD at all the stock fan was loader than this thing. It is a little big had to move my side fan but not a big deal nice for the price good buy thanks newegg you rock

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooler!

Pros: Back Plate, 120mm fan, copper direct touch and this cooler is fairly cheap! *if you have a removable MOBO tray* like my Cooler Master CSX Blue Flame 830 ATX Full Tower you can get away without removing the MOBO with a little finesse. I am using an ASUS Maximus Formula Board and had no issuses with this HSF and my Dominator RAM height.

Cons: If you feel that having to remove your MOBO to install a HSF is a con you might want to rethink OverClocking.....

Can't use my case's panel fans because this cooler is BIG. (Still Dropped Temps)

Other Thoughts: For the money this is a great cooler! I replaced an ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro-92mm (Great Cooler) with the Fort120 on my Q9550 OC'd to 3.2GHz. I didn't even bother to apply new Arctic Silver when I Dropped in the Fort120 just to see if I could notice a temp drop from the Direct Touch. Dropped 4C to 59C under full load (Prime95 Small FFT's), I am going to pull it back off, apply new thermal paste and re-seat it to see if it drops further. I do like the little Thermal Paste Spatula they include; I think it will help fill in between the Heat Pipes and CPU contact pad...

1 out of 5 eggsCaution! Too BIG!!

Pros: Got a case fan out of this buy..

Cons: You need a huge case just to fit this in, and if you can get it to fit, you may have to take your side mounted fan off your case. In my opinion it's not a good quality heat sync, the base of it isn't all copper and doesn't mount well on an AMD boards. The thermal paste that comes with it is garbage too, make sure if you do buy this, that you get some Arctic Silver paste or you may over heat your proc!!

Other Thoughts: This heat sync was a bad buy for me and was the first thing I bout from Newegg I have ever disliked, that's why I'm writing this reveiw. I'm sticking with Thermaltake and Coolermaster from now on.

I'm now using the fan as a case fan =(

5 out of 5 eggsworks great easy install on AM3

Pros: Phenom 955BE OCed to 3.7 running a 30c Idle and 48c at full load, super easy to install on an AMD mobo... I've installed several thermaltake large fans and water cooling systems and those are a major pain requiring special brackets, not so this it installs like a regular heatsink, was a little worried about the weight but it doesn't seem to put any dangerous strain on the mobo.

Cons: looks a little cheap... didn't dock a star because it functions great and that's all I care about, but those who want case windows (not me) they will want to go with a flashier looking heatsink. A little loud at full speed.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW!!

Pros: Works perfectly with my AMD X4 B50 @3.8 GHz!! Doesn't block the RAM slots at all like some do. Designed mostly as an AMD cooler. Keeps my processor cool at 47 degrees celsius under full load! It also comes with extra brackets to mount a second fan on the opposite side. I Bought a Rosewill Blackbone case and the case fan lines up PERFECTLY with the CPU cooler so I have basically 3 120mm fans directing air through my CPU cooler in a Push-Pull-Pull set up. This baby is amazing!

Cons: can't think of any really. Performs so well I am a rosewill customer for life!

Other Thoughts: for the novices, apply thermal grease to both the CPOU and the HS/F before seating.

AMD X4 B50 @ 3.8GHz
Biostar 790GX
4GB GSkill RipJaws @ 1600 MHz
1 TB WD Caviar Black

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding Performance

Pros: Price and Performance, First day out of the box and onto an AM3 Phenom II x4 955 steady running temps around 38c overclocked to 3.7GHz. Max temps below 45 on first day prior to the thermal paste setting.

Cons: Its a LITTLE big, but fits well in a standard case, Id recommend getting another high flow fan for the back just to kick it a little harder up.

Other Thoughts: Perfect and stable, large so no huge spikes in temp and fits AM3 like a dream out of the box. Well worth the investment

5 out of 5 eggsFort 120 CPU Cooler

Pros: Upgraded everything on my computer and needed the cooling power. Keeps my AMD Phenom x4 9750 under 40c Under a full load. I am reading about the fan being too loud for some and I find this untrue. The fan is very quiet for the size and RPMs.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I wasn't expecting it to be as big as it is, but thats ok, because I have the room for it in my tower, but Like I said, I needed the cooling power and am hesitant to go with liquid cooling. I think it looks great thought the clear acrylic sideview of my tower.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Good

Pros: Q9550@3.4GHz idle temp around 30c (T-case) Max @ 57c running Prime95, Direct Touch Heat Pipes, Motherboard back plate and thumb screws provide firm contact with CPU, Cannot hear this fan over semi-noisy, 4890 vga fan. Fits inside my Enermax Staray case (mid tower) after removing top side panel 120mm fan.

Cons: Contact surface not polished, Instructions may as well not have been included with tiny illustrations, seemingly poorly translated Chinese and steps lacked detail.

Other Thoughts: I lapped the contact surface of the heatsink to a mirror finish and used AS Ceramique. I am a firm believer in Direct touch, 120mm CPU coolers if you OC and don't use water. I'm getting more and more Rosewill stuff and so far it works like it should.

1 out of 5 eggsNot making me happy

Pros: Look ridiculously awesome simply due to the size of the heat sink when your showing of your computer to your friends.

Cons: The fan is louder than the stock fans of my NZXT Zero case at any speed.
My Phenom 965 idles at ~70c at stock speeds with Arctic Silver paste.
It is too big for my side fans in my case; I have to squeeze the door shut in order get my computer closed.

Other Thoughts: This cooler should work great. It has brackets for a second 120mm fan to blow in and out for some major airflow.

I wish it worked better, but I am not risking my desktop's processor to take the time to figure out what is wrong with it.

1 out of 5 eggsBig, big, big.

Pros: Very nice looking.

Cons: HUGE! Make sure your case has room. Not just directly above the CPU either. It is not just tall, but wide as well.

Other Thoughts: Made the mistake of purchasing for at the same time as the case. Didn't come close to fitting. Case listed as 200mm wide so I thought I'd be safe (40mm clearance). Needed at least another 10mm because the support crossbar (Raidmax Smildon case) was in the way. If the cooler had been 10mm shorter or narrower, I'd have been fine. Your mileage may vary.
