Does heatsink come with thermal paste already applied?

Yes, it has a thermal paste square patch already attached. All you need to do is remove the protective paper covering it and attach the units to your cpu as detailed in the instructions.

depends what heatsink you have on your mobo to begin with, if there isn't one (no backplate) this thing just snaps right in. If you did previously have one with a backplate, you may have to remove that backplate. hope this helps.

My mobo only has screw slots, can't remember if old heatsink used screws or push buttons.

I purchased this earlier this year and am using it. Works great.

The heatsink/fan I had on my motherboard before was of the screw on type with the "X" plate underneath the motherboard and using screws from the topside to tighten the heatsink against the CPU.

THIS heatsink uses the pushpins.  As long as you have clearance under the motherboard, and you should,  you simply use the push pins on the heatsink. Works perfectly fine. The two types ARE interchangeable.   So go ahead and buy this heatsink and know that it will indeed cool your CPU.

What is the exact height of this cpu cooler? It says total height is 91mm, but it also says that the fan is 25mm and the heatsink is 36.4mm which would be about 62mm. I need to know as I am trying to get it in a rather small case.

it is 92x92x25... i.e., 92 wide, 92 long, 25 high... at least that's what cnet says I typed in "dimensions RCX-Z90-AL" in to google... having said that though, I would expect it to be closer to 55mm based on the pic... 25mm is an inch and the pic looks like the _fan_ is an inch thick so twice that plus a little more (for the screws) and you're probably safe.

I have the older version of this cooler bought back to 2011. The box says it's compatible to 775, but the current version could be used for 1150 cpu, etc. Do I need a special adaptor or plate to be able to be used with the newer CPU? If so, where can I get it. I emailed Rosewill many days ago, and hasn't hear an answer, please help!!!!

Yes this fits socket 775. however its cheap and the plastic clips that lock the cooler to the motherboard tend to break. good luck

My brother bought this for his C2D E6300, which is OC's to 2.5ghz and it works great. We are now upgrading him to a C2Q 9550 with a 95w TDP, will this cooler work or will we have to replace it? (Specs say TDP up to 86w)
