5 out of 5 eggsExceptional!

Pros: I sometimes wonder if the fan is on, I have to look I can't hear it at all. I bought these to add to a NZXT Tempest 210, I mounted it in the front. Price isn't bad at all.

Cons: The fan has a thermistor on it, meaning it turns on when the case is at a certain temp. I personally don't like it. I'd like to manually change the fan speed. The rubber mounts that come with the fan are trash, they are made out of cheap rubber. I used the Screws. The fans don't start up immediately. That's due to the thermistor. Within 5 seconds they fire up.

Other Thoughts: Go ahead and purchase these fans. They are more then I expected.

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad at all

Pros: I bought 2 of these as processor heat sink fans on my Xigmatek Dark Knight II Night Hawk Ed. Cpu Cooler for two reasons: they were black and white to match my case and interior AND they automatically adjust their rpm.

I stuck their temperature sensors in a couple screw holes i didnt use on the BASE of the heat sink. Do not put their sensors in the fins where cool air is passing through. I could have also put the sensors in the north bridge heat sinks. either would have kept the fans at 100% all the time anyway.

At 100% ~1000rpm they are Silent!

Cons: Would have liked the manufacturer to include a way to bypass the temperature sensor so i could just plug them into the mobo without having to worry about finding a place for the sensors.

Other Thoughts: No annoying lights. I hate leds on my fans...

5 out of 5 eggsIs it on??

Pros: I ordered 3 SilenX fans for a P280 to replace the fans on a H80 and add one in the front for intake over the Hard Drive Bay area. I am impressed by the uncanny silence from these fans. Great Quality housing and blades and they live up to thier claim.

Housing quality
Included mounting for silent operation
Quiet on high RPM
Excellent airflow

Cons: When your making a clean build and love to hide wires the wiring on this can make this difficult. The 3 pin head is paired very close to a molex for an alternative source of power. In my example this makes a messy build if I want these two fans plugged into the H80 for fan control via the CPU mount. Rather I plugged in through molex in back.

Minor gripe and not worth an egg however.

Other Thoughts: The tempature sensor wire is neat im sure but I just moved it into the back. It is rather long and there isn't a good way to hide this nor does it seem worth the effort to make it work.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet, Thermally controlled

Pros: Wanted to quiet down a Behringer amp. The thermal resistor is great because the amp is cool the fan is dead quiet. When the amp is warm you can't hear the fan anyways.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsSILENCE!!!

Pros: They are very quiet, the only thing quieter in my case is the MSI gpu. My friend ordered them for me not realizing that they had a thermistor, but that's easily bypassed. They move a decent amount of air in my NZXT phantom and the case is now cold to the touch. They are really efficient for the amount of air they push.

Cons: I guess the thermistor, but that was only because of searching ignorance.

Other Thoughts: Couldn't put it on the fan controller because of the thermistors, but again: ignorance.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: QUIET!

Moves incredible air for being so quiet.

Inexpensive.

Thermistor included. Can be easily defeated/bypassed for those not wanting a thermistor fan.

Includes silicone mounts that are surprisingly rugged for how much you need to stretch them to install. Also, it comes with 5 even though one would only need 4.

Packaged in easily resealable/reusable container. None of that needing a blowtorch to open a plastic package.

Cons: Cord isn't as long as it should be.

4 pin molex receptacle is hard-wired. I appreciate the lower price this brings, but who doesn't have eleventy zillion 4 pin molex to 3 pin fan adapters laying around already anyways from other fan makers including them as optional add-ons?

Other Thoughts: Finally, a fan that is as quiet as it claims and doesn't sacrifice oodles of airflow to achieve it!

Yes, I docked an egg just for the cord being too short. It's too common an oversight to still be prevalent in this day and age. It's a lot easier to overcome a thin fan cord being too long than it is being too short. I'd gladly have paid another quarter each for a couple more inches of cord.

As a matter of clarification, I'm not saying the cord is short. Just that it should be a little longer

1 out of 5 eggsNewegg Junk

Pros: None

Cons: Both fans I ordered from Newegg "click"
Given the packages were unsealed, I probably got Newegg reject.

Other Thoughts: Threw them away and bought new fans from a reliable e-tailer.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice case fan

Pros: Very quiet and moves a pretty good amount of air. If you are concerned with keeping your running noise down then you will love this fan because it's probably at the top of the list of CFM/dBA ratio of high quality fans available on newegg.

Cons: Black fan with white blades... I just (very carefully) spray painted the whole thing black to match my case.

Also the fan would be better if it came with an adapter rather than trying to put two different connectors on the same wire.

Other Thoughts: Overall I think the SilenX fans are the best fans on newegg if you are concerned with keeping your noise down and not sacrificing on air flow.

4 out of 5 eggsGood flow and quiet

Pros: Easy to install (relatively).
Good flow of air (CFM/cubic feet per minute).
Quiet.

See other thoughts on use.

Cons: The silicon plugs being silicon thus soft, is that if you are not careful, they will break if you pull too hard. But, they provide spares.

Other Thoughts: Installed 2 in my Antec Sonata Case (so so case).
Installed 3 in my Backup Server case (10 3.5" Hdds).
Both are Intel-i5 3.4ghz CPU's w/ standard heatsink/fan combo.
NO overclocking.

Keeps both systems both cool and quiet. My storage server has a lot of HDDs in them so fans was always neccessary. Can not get an accurate measurement below 38dBA at 1 feet with my B&K 2260 Type 1 noise meter due to environmental noise. I think my blood pressure is probably higher than the noise this fan makes. :p
