Pros: Came in a nice box

Cons: Junk, doesn't line up with the holes on my S1283. Have to use the plastic feet that came with the cooler. I could sort this out with copious bending of the brackets, but that's not really the point now is it. Fortunately I only wasted 7 bucks on this.

Does The Job Well

Pros: This cross shaped backplate secures the HS firmly on the mobo. Really the only way to go when it comes to anchoring such heavy duty cooling products.

Cons: Like many others, this purchase had to be made separately at an additional expense. A slight inconvenience, but no big deal.

Pros: Keeps HDT-SD964 tight and secure on the CPU and is much better than the push tabs that come with cooler.

Cons: Most of the popular heavy / large coolers come with an appropriate brace. I think it stinks that Xigmatek sells one separately. Minus one egg for you!

Other Thoughts: Include this with the HDT-SD964 cooler and raise the package price $5 so I don't think I am getting hosed.
