The new Xigmatek XAF Series of 120mm system fans continues the company’s innovative design focus to provide advanced features and performance while maintaining excellent value to the end user. The innovative “waveform” shape of the fan blades on the XAF series aren’t just for show and provide real performance benefits. The XAF series also features a very high quality copper bearing system which extends the service life of the fan 50% over that of fans using regular ball or sleeve bearings.

Xigmatek XAF-F1256

A New Wave in Fan Design

The unique “waveform” fan blade shape of the XAF series fans were specifically designed to maximize airflow per revolution. The “waveform” shape, along with the minimized central hub, increases the surface area of each fan blade over traditional designs and delivers up to 15%-20% more CFM at comparable RPMs over normal fan designs. Furthermore, unlike traditional fans which act like an air scoop, the irregularly shaped wave of air that forms in front of the “waveform” blade helps to reduce the collection of dust on the fan blade itself.

• Innovative “waveform” fan blade designed for performance – The unique shape of the XAF series fan blades and the minimally sized central hub dramatically increases blade surface area and generates 15%-20% more CFM at comparable RPMs to traditional fans. More airflow equals better cooling performance.

• Dramatically reduces dust collection – Traditional curved fan designs act like air scoops and over time they collect dust over the entire blade which increases air resistance and decreases performance. The unique “waveform” fan blade of the XAF series generates an irregularly shaped pressure wave in front of the fan blade which helps to reduce dust collection.

• High quality copper bearing for long life – The bearing is the heart of a fan system. Xigmatek’s use of superior grade copper materials for the bearing system ensures up to 50% longer service life than regular ball or sleeve bearing designs. Greater reliability gives you peace of mind for your PC system.

• Innovative “waveform” fan blade design to dramatically increase airflow up to 20% over standard blade designs

• “Waveform” blade produces irregular air pressure wave at the front of the blade helping to reduce dust collection

• High quality, long life copper bearings designed to extend service life up to 50% over standard ball or sleeve bearing designs – MTBF rated at 150,000 hours

• Available in 3-pin (non-PWM) or 4-pin (PWM) versions

• Comes in a variety of colors and with or without white LED

• 120mm versions available for most standard PC system applications

3 out of 5 eggsXigmatek AOS (Aeronautical Oil System Bearing) XAF-F1256 120MM Fan

Pros: The LED is bright. Strong air flow. Keeps the case cool.

Cons: It is quite loud.

Other Thoughts: I think the loud noise is what comes with strong air flow I mentioned in the Pros. I have had other Xigmatek fans in the past and they were all much quieter than this model I bought. I bought two of these and both are pretty loud. I have three 200mm fans and 1 140mm fans installed on my case and these combined make less noise than one of these 120mm fan. I had to take it off after 15 minutes cause it's just too loud to have next to me. The air flow is strong without doubt but it's not worth the noise.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Cheap and Fun

Pros: Not too loud. Great looking blade design, and color. Good price.

Cons: I took one egg off because the blue LED is more of a white LED so it does take away from the dark blue color as the product image displays

5 out of 5 eggsdust? not yet

Pros: these fans push a lot of air, just from these fans on my xigmatech gaia they cool my case themselves and i never go over 40c so thats saying something. BTW i have two in a push pull

Cons: i sleep about two feet from my rig, nd it sounds le a jet engine inside a paded room, but wth, for fans like these, cant really call it a con

Other Thoughts: when i first installed these fans it was replacing a stock xigmatech gaia fan at 56cfm. these fans were an upgrade to say the least. in the end i don think i would go with any other fan. when you get them in the mail and you open them up note the copper bushing sticking out on the fan hub. xigmatech has in my mind always made quality fans and remind you, i have been runing my rig for a month and i shut it down today due to overheating and found no dust on the blades. insted i had to pull one off toclean the fins off on my heatsink. all i say "enjoy they are worth it"

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet & Efficient

Pros: Quiet, moves air nicely & is a good value for your money

Cons: I was replacing the front fans on my Antec 900 case, so I had to run the cables back through the rails that the case had, unfortunately the wires for these fans were a bit larger & didn't fit as well as the stock ones. Definitely not a con of the item itself instead, my usage of it. Also, I didn't realize the LEDs were set to blink instead of just being constantly on

Other Thoughts: For the price, it's a good buy & it does it's job just fine

4 out of 5 eggsOverall Good Fan

Pros: Fans move a decent amount of air and aren't terribly loud. (still louder than OEM mind you)

4 led's, one on each corner, and thank goodness not blindingly bright

Led brightness (atleast with my mobo) scales with how spooled the fan is (my fans are mobo controlled)

Fan's came with adapter for plugging straight into PSU if you dont have enough slots on mobo

Screws that come with actually cut grooves into fan housing making a very tight grip and no vibration

Cons: Only 3 pin so no PWM
