Question 1

Can these be fitted with LEDs from other fans? I can't quite tell from the pics.

Well Charlie I think the answer to your question lies in your level of skill with a soldering iron,reworking the plug ends and the materials you have on hand(glue,wire,plugs,etc.). 
I gather from your question you may already have removed some lights from other fans. If you have, installing them on another fan should not be problematic. Now I am assuming you will place them on the four arms that run from the hub to the frame. If you want to install the type of lights that run all the way around the circumference of the fan...I'm not sure on how that would work out. Ultimately the end result will depend on how handy your are and how much time(effort) you are willing to apply to your project.

What's the amperage on this fan?

AMAZING FAN...comes with a couple extra cables a 7V and a 5V which allows this fan to move some serious air with just a whisper of noise. If what im seeing is correct the amperage is 3 different numbers depending on whether or not your using the extra cables for super quiet operation. So to answer the question:

1600RPM = 0.2A
1100RPM = 0.1A
800RPM  = 0.05A  Hope thats the answer you were looking fore

Question 3

How quiet are these compared to say, stock Corsair SP 120 fans.  Also, what type of noise do they generate? A whine, growl, or deep hum?

I installed three of these in my Cooler Master HAF 912. Two, the two I installed in the front using the traditional screws, are dead quiet. Not a sound at all. The third one I installed in the rear exhaust port using the provided rubber pins. It's barely audible, but I know it's working. Just a slight "Whirring" sound you would anticipate with a fan. I don't know if it's the fan that made it different or the mounting. It's not big enough a problem for me to change it to screw mounts. 
As to a comparison to a Corsair fan, I have not idea since I've never had a corsair fan. But, these replaced the OEM Coolermaster fans that came with the case and I prefer these. They seem to move more air.

Question 4

I am getting a rear chassis fan not detected on my HP PC.  I opened the case and the rear cooling fan is not running.  Are all of the cooling fans ok to use to replace that or are there specific ones that need to be used?

Any typical 3 pin cooling fan of the same size can be used to replace your dead case fan.

Although this LEPA LP-BOL12R is primarily a case fan I have it cooling my AMD A10-5800K CPU at 32C (idled) using a 120mm to 70mm adapter with no problems.  Fan speed is fixed at 1600 RPMs and I can barely hear it.  The fan does come with two resistive pigtails that will decrease the fan's speed  to 1100 or 800 RPMs depending on how much air you want it to move.  Below 1600 RPMs the fan is inaudible to me.

I recommend this product.

Question 5

are these good replacements for the corsair h100i gtx stock fans?

These fans do not have strong static pressure, which is needed for radiators. I would not recommend these. To be honest, I'm not sure how they tested these fans, but they don't seem to push 80+ cfm. Another note, these do not have power management (if that matters to you)
