Absolutly AWESOME
- Pros: Very, Very Quiet - Almost silent. Keeps my quad core at 34 c even when running Sandra software burn in tests.
- Cons: Very Large
Big, cool
- Pros: I am not an overclocker so I'm imagining that this review wont' be too helpful. My AMD Phenom II 3.2 GHz quad core idles at around 41 degrees C and I've never seen it above 48. I mostly do audio stuff with my computer, so I haven't tried it with gaming. I have it set up with the low noise adapter (1200 rpm) and it's barely audible. When I first turned my computer on I actually was worried I didn't hook up the power switch correctly because I didn't hear anything. I might hook it up with the ultra low noise adapter at some point if things are staying cool with my processor. No complaints, but I'm also not pushing it.
- Cons: It's big. I'm using it in a micro ATX case (Silverstone TJ-08) and it barely fit, so the bigness wasn't really a problem... just make sure you understand that it's big.
- Other Thoughts: I'm very happy with my purchase.
Lowest temps so far
- Pros: Up to 5c lower than my last 3 coolers, 65 cfm @ 1300 rpm (higher pressure) , Quite (by comparison), Quality build, solid mounting, As a bounus it cools your whole rig down.
- Cons: To achieve the "great" cooling you have to purchase another 120m fan for a push/pull configuration. (that's why the 4 eggs) That's pricey...
- Other Thoughts: In a push/pull configuration it may be too big to get tall memory on your board (take measurements). This thing really has higher pressure air movement. This makes a huge difference when pushing or pulling air through cpu grills, tight case grills, etc. And in my experience it's quieter than others I've owned... Don't waste time thinking about how it looks this cooler keeps my 90w (OC'd) cpu at 28c idle. I'm guessing it'll do just fine with 125w and 140w. I went for the case fans also... I can practically blow dry my hair out of the back of the case.
