4 out of 5 eggsMet my expectations!!!

Pros: Heat sink with 120 mm fan which can be flipped over easily to pull air thru the heat sink and out of the case.
The ability to mount the heat sink in one of four positions to optimize in ITX case for wire management etc.
The price is lower than most slim line CPU coolers in the 120 mm range.

Cons: The fins of the heat sink in the corner zones can be bent easily. Had to bend a few fins back into place.

Other Thoughts: I was looking for something that provided flexibility of mounting positions. I optimized the heat sink and 120 mm mounted fan position allowing for good wire management and not interfere with the other components on the motherboard.

Steam HTPC Build:
Silverstone Raven RVZ01
Silverstone SFX 450 Bronze
AMD FM2+ 860k Kaveri QC 3.7~4.0Ghz
Gelid Slim Hero 120 mm cpu cooler
Gskill Ares 1 x 8Gb DDR3 1866
Adata SP900 SSD 256GB
Seagate 1TB 64MB Sata 6Gb/s
HP Toshiba slim slot load DVD +/-RW
StarTech slimline Sata to Sata w/ power
Hauppauge 1595 HD Dual Tuner

In addition, I have added a wireless adapter for XBOX 360 wireless remote and using controller companion downloaded from STEAM. This is a great combination as it controls mouse functions and gives you the ability to select/type with a pop up spiral keyboard. If you need to type in a lot of information I recommend getting a wireless keyboard I am using a Logitech K360.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible CPU Air Cooling

Pros: Great little unit. Bought for my Mobile Recording Studio PC Build in a 3U rackmount chassis. Very tight spaces, but works excellent. I run an i7-3770K at 4.0 GHz (OC). At 100% load the temp never got above 73 degrees Celsius on an overnight test (10 hrs). Overall noise level very acceptable for a recording studio as well. Total overal noise (including my 5 other case fans) is only 24.6dB. Did not use supplied thermal paste, but used Arctic silver instead. No problem with RAM height as others have indicated. Close though, with only about a 32nd of an inch to spare (install RAM FIRST!!!).

Cons: The supplied instructions could have been better, but if you have some degree of technical ability you should have no probllems.

Other Thoughts: The fan only seems to fit on one way, blowing air down onto CPU. Would be nice to reverse flow to suit cases with top cross flow.

5 out of 5 eggsCool fan

Pros: Very quiet, and works decently. Kept my A10-7700K at 35C.

Cons: Bulky if you are installing on a micro-ATX. I saw several reviews mentioning that it blocks RAM. Just wanted to say it fits nicely on the ASUS A78M-E micro-ATX board. It has like an eighth of an inch clearance between the cooler and the RAM, but it's not touching. Also able to get to the power and fan headers fine around it.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't Fit My MicroATX Motherboard

Pros: Looks sweet, low-profile, very neat design; Probably a great product.

Cons: Wasn't compatible with the back-shield that came with my motherboard, also was too large for a MicroATX build; the radiator was blocking my memory slots.

Other Thoughts: If the radiator stood up off the motherboard more, it would have been a less appealing product to full size ATX buyers, but it also would have been compatible with MicroATX motherboards. Would also be nice if there was a kit to install without having to remove the back shield that provides additional dissipation so many manufacturers are including with their motherboards these days.

3 out of 5 eggsDidn't Fit, Couldn't Use

Pros: Well made and well machined.

Cons: I bought this to use with the ASRock FM2A88X-ITX+ FM2+ / FM2 AMD A88X (Bolton D4) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Mini ITX AMD Motherboard. It didn't fit b/c the RAM was in the way.

Other Thoughts: Would have liked to use but gotta have memory so... better luck next time. I will just stick with the standard H/S fan combo for now.

5 out of 5 eggsPassively cool an AMD 5350

Pros: Low profile with heat pipes and the right footprint for my purpose.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I used this to passively cool an AMD 5350.
What I used:
AMD 5350
Gelid Slim Hero cpu cooler
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB
Silverstone MILO Series ML06B HTPC case
2 sticks of low profile ram I had sitting around
Old laptop charger

How I did it:
I used the intel mounting brackets and snipped one leg off each end and drilled holes in the proper location to match the holes in the motherboard. Then used some small nuts, bolts and nylon washers to attach it. Tossed the fan that came with it into a drawer.
Note: low profile ram MUST be used and, believe me, you need to install it prior to mounting the heatsink if you use both ram slots.

If you listen carefully, you can almost hear the electrons bumping into each other.
Running with NO FANS and in the case and an ambient air temp of 27c.
Running prime 95 I got the temps;
It took 5 minutes to reach 50c
10 minutes to reach 55c
20 minutes to reach 61c
It never went beyond 61c while running for 90 minutes.
The motherboard temp maxed out at 55c
These temps were from the BIOS and SpeedFan
Since, as far as I can tell, this CPU is rated for up to 90c, I'm very satisfied with the results.
It's intended purpose is to run XBMC, watch a few on line videos, listen to music, web surfing and a few very low end kids games (the boys are 7 and 5 so no hard core games). All encoding, ripping etc is handled by a machine that serves as a file server as well.
It plays videos like a champ while at 13% cpu load.
My Kill-A-Watt meter reads roughly 19 watts while watching videos and 13 watts while idle.
Hope this helps somebody wanting to do the same.

GELID design team: You can have a winner here if you offer a mounting kit to fit the AM1 boards.
You can pay my R&D fee with cash or a Newegg gift card. Thanks in advance! :)

5 out of 5 eggsI like it

Pros: Installs easily
Low profile
Beats the stock cooler
Good for HTPC

Cons: The fan is a little loud. It is not horrible, but I did swap it out with one that was quieter

The only other hitch was that the screws coming down did not line up exactly on the holes (we are talk about a few hairs widths here and there, but it did take just a little finagling to get it place.

Other Thoughts: The fan directions have instructions for socket 1155 and 1156, this will also work with socket 1150.

I did not install this on an AMD processor. I used on a Haswell CPU. Install was straight forward. The adhesive washer made it a breeze.

I especially liked the lower retention system. It is much easier than trying to fight screws or nuts from above. It also provides good clamping force.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for HTPC builds!

Pros: HTPC builds are very limited on space. I found this heatsink to be exactly the right size for my Silverstone ML05B case. I replaced the fan with a Cougar 120mm x 25mm fan and was still able to mount the fan onto the case mount point without any modifications! True it may not compete with many other top end heatsinks, but for ITX desktop cases, this is the perfect match!

Cons: The fan that comes with the heatsink is cheap, but will do the job. My case had exactly enough room for me to mount a larger 120mm x 25mm Cougar. This drawback is not worth enough to drop an egg.

Other Thoughts: Built a mini virtualbox server using this heatsink:
Silverstone ML05B case
Silverstone ST45SF 450W SFX12V power supply
ASRock Z87E-ITX mb
Intel i5-4670K cpu
Asus R7240 2gb 128bit video card
1 G.Skill 240pin (2x8) 16gb 2400 DDR3 memory
1 Samsung 840 EVO 250gb SSD

5 out of 5 eggsBest Low Profile Cooler

Pros: > Low Profile
> 120mm fan, helps cool everything under it.
> Excellent Cooling Performance
> Easy to install once you understand how
> Reasonable price for how good it works & looks
> Very quiet

Cons: No cons in my experience, however some may:

> Have some trouble initially with install
> Memory DIMMs that are too tall may be an issue
> Over tightening nuts may bend some motherboards too much
> Does not use factory under plate (not a really a con)

Other Thoughts: This really is a great cooler and probably the only truly low profile cooler that actually works. Other makers have had something similar but have dropped those lines leaving but one excellent low profile cooler for small, tight cases...

4 out of 5 eggsNice and cool

Pros: Can be mounted in any direction depending on your MB layout. Low profile yet still has 120mm fan, memory with low profile heat spreaders fit under the cooler with room to spare, reasonable cost, very good workmanship.

Cons: Fan on my unit is a bit noisy so will have to replace with a low profile noctua as my cougar was too tall.

Other Thoughts: While I have had better luck than most people who do reviews seem to have with the OEM AMD cooler I decided to look for an aftermarket cooler that would deliver more cooling power and still fit in a very small ITX case. I found this cooler and though I was worried it would be too tall and wide I ordered it and I am very glad I did. It is well made and due to the way the included AMD mount works it fit my Gigabyte ITX MB perfectly with plenty of clearance for the ram(low profile) and northbridge heatsink. the fan is secure but does make a slight rattling noise at any speed so I will need to replace. At first I was worried as the fan for the power supply exhausts directly into the CPU cooler fan and the first two days I couldn't get it cooler than 41C and most of the time it was 46C but after burning in the OCZ Ultra Silver thermal compound it is now averaging 37C on the APU(A10 6800K richland) under moderate loads. Should be able to keep it in the mid 40's under heavy loads so that is a win in my book.
