5 out of 5 eggs10 minute install on AM3

This review is from: DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 300 CPU Cooler 3 Heatpipes 120mm PWM Fan

Pros: Reasonable price, had enough thermal compound applied, quick and easy install on AM3 cpu, quiet in operation, keeps 3.4 GHz quad core cool. Would have only taken 5 minutes to install if I hadn't attached the bracket wrong the first time. It really helps to install a CPU cooler on your MB before you install it in the case.

Cons: Wish the 400 was this price.

5 out of 5 eggsworking like a charm

This review is from: DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 300 CPU Cooler 3 Heatpipes 120mm PWM Fan

Pros: bought to replace very noisy AMD fan that came with 8320 that i had installed on an old X2 4200+ that i had recently upgraded to a X2 6000+, the install was on a micro ATX mobo...the unit, while difficult to fit due to its size is whisper quiet and also reduced cpu temps by 10 degrees...for $16 it was a great buy and i highly recommend it.

Cons: installation was a pain but i got it attached eventually...be careful and don't press on the fan/cpu to attach 2nd side but press on attachment structure and it will install easily

Other Thoughts: well done deepcool, next up make PSU whisper quiet.

5 out of 5 eggsDEEPCOOL Review

This review is from: DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 300 CPU Cooler 3 Heatpipes 120mm PWM Fan

Pros: Fits in my smaller case
Runs smoothly and silently
Instantly cooled my cpu by 8-10°c from the stock cooler
Would recommend

Cons: Somewhat rough install (2 of the push pins are directly under the fan and it makes it hard to tighten for my i5 core install)

That's it really

Other Thoughts: Feels like cheaper quality material, but you get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

This review is from: DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 300 CPU Cooler 3 Heatpipes 120mm PWM Fan

Pros: It does what its suppose to do, really well. Keeps the CPU cool, and is almost silent.

Cons: Big cooler, it sticks out of the motherboard a bit, nothing major. I have it on a full ATX board so space for me isn't much of an issue.

Other Thoughts: Exactly what I expected. If you have little room you may want to reconsider.

5 out of 5 eggsFX 8320 GAMMAXXIMUM COOLING!!!

This review is from: DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 300 CPU Cooler 3 Heatpipes 120mm PWM Fan

Pros: This cooler is super quiet. I had to look in my case to make sure the fan was running the first time I turned it on. It keeps my FX 8320 at 15c idle and around 25-30c while gaming with the pre-applied thermal paste. It was easily mounted inside an NZXT Guardian case without taking the Biostar TA970 mobo out. I have not tried OC'ing yet.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: If you're on the fence about buying this then go ahead and jump off and get in the neighbors pool because this thing is definitely worth it. DEEPCOOL scored with this cooler!

5 out of 5 eggsSweet

This review is from: DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 300 CPU Cooler 3 Heatpipes 120mm PWM Fan

Pros: I was debating holding out for a liquid cooler but saw this on sale and said what the heck? I was immediately blown away by the quality of the thing, it just seems very well built and I love the machining on the heat pipes so they make direct contact and the fins aren't flimsy like others I've encountered.

Cons: nada

4 out of 5 eggsGood if price and height are a concern

This review is from: DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 300 CPU Cooler 3 Heatpipes 120mm PWM Fan

Pros: Good price, quiet noise, short height (for itx cases), good performance

Cons: Push pins not as secure as mounting to a backplate

Other Thoughts: I was looking to lower the temps on my budget gaming rig. During stress tests, core temperatures would surpass 80 C. Although this would not be a problem during normal use, I wanted a lower maximum for peace of mind. A maximum clearance of 140 mm eliminated the option of using the trusted CM 212 evo/plus. For a mere $20, I decided to try the Deepcool Gammaxx 300.

Mounting the cooler was troublesome. I would have preferred the security of mounting to a backplate on the motherboard (as with the CM 212 evo/plus). The push pins of the stock Intel cooler and Deepcool Gammaxx 300 do not fill me with confidence. Even with the push pins, I had to remove the motherboard to ensure I was not applying too much pressure and to ensure the pins were secure. The Deepcool Gammaxx 300 would get a perfect score from me if it mounted using a backplate.

Hardware: I3-4160, MSI H81I (itx), Thermaltake Core V1 (itx)
Software: Prime95 (v27.7, using 10 tests of large FFT), HWMonitor (v1.27)

Ambient room temperature: 20 C
Core temperature with stock Intel cooler: 25 C min, 81 C max, 56 C delta
Core temperature with Deepcool Gammaxx 300: 25 C min, 63 C max, 38 C delta

I realize that using an after-market cooler was not necessary. Still, if budget and heatsink height allowed, I would have bought the CM 212 evo/plus simply because of the mounting technique. However, at less than $20 and a height of only 135 mm, I am pleasantly surprised with the Deepcool Gammaxx 300 and very happy with my purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as intended

This review is from: DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 300 CPU Cooler 3 Heatpipes 120mm PWM Fan

Pros: Affordable, way better than the stock cooler.
Keeps my overclocked Core i5 at 30 - 35C at light load. Max 54C when playing a game like The Witcher 3

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsGammaxx 300

This review is from: DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 300 CPU Cooler 3 Heatpipes 120mm PWM Fan

Pros: Quiet
Keeps cpu cool even at load
Overclock ability+++
Price:Performance 10/10

Cons: Mounting for AMD is BAD! You have to use force to mount the cooler on the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: This is just an update to my previous review. So far I've pushed my AMD FX-6300 @ a stable 4.5GHz with this cooler running prime95 for at least an hour. Best bang for the buck CPU cooler and I'm looking forward to their next generation coolers!

4 out of 5 eggsGammaxx 300

This review is from: DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 300 CPU Cooler 3 Heatpipes 120mm PWM Fan

Pros: Just installed this cooler in my rig 2 days ago (AMD build) and blew my mind on how good it can cool my FX-6300. At idle it goes as low as 12 degrees celsius and overclocking with this bad boy was an easy task. The temps while overclocked on load never went as high as 50 degrees celsius. Noise level was also an annoyance to me but the fan with this cooler was wayyyy more quieter than my case fans even at 100% RPM, it was barely noticeable.

Cons: Alright, i only have 1 con about the whole product itself. it was that the AMD kit for installation was really sketchy. I had to put pressure to actually put the mounts. IF YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT BREAKING YOUR AMD CPU AND MOTHERBOARD WITH PRESSURE DO NOT BUY THIS! The kit for Intel is a pushpin so do worry.

Other Thoughts: Really i installed it safe and sound but it doesnt mean a guaranteed success to everyone. There are some other coolers out there but this one is one of the best ones for its price.
