Integrated TEC Technology At its core, Voltair is a high-performance 120mm air cooler. It features two 120mm fans in a push-pull configuration and can move a lot of heat away from the processor. We've supercharged this cooler by using TEC technology to actively pump more heat from the processor's surface at an even faster rate. Heat is absorbed from the CPU surface into the base of the first-stage air cooler and transferred through direct thermal contact heatpipes to the outer bank of cooling fins. Excess heat from the base of the first-stage air cooler is then actively pumped to the second-stage air cooler by the TEC plate. This heat is transferred through a second set of heatpipes to the interior bank of cooling fins. Fans move air across the cooling fins to remove heat from the system. |
Supercharged Heat Transfer A TEC plate serves as an active heat pump and uses an electrical current to produce temperatures that are sub-ambient, which is not possible when using standard heatsinks or liquid cooling. Current is run through a two dissimilar conductors and a corresponding heat difference is produced between the top and bottom surfaces. Voltair exploits this temperature differential to accelerate the process of removing heat from the CPU surface, unlike any other cooler on the market. |
Customizable Fan Speed The dual 120mm fans on the V3 Voltair can be set to whatever speed you desire. We understand the need to tune performance as well as acoustic properties, so you can select just the right speed to maintain silent operation in your environment while maximizing airflow. The optional fan speed controller easily mounts in an available expansion slot in your chassis. The fans can also be plugged directly into a motherboard fan header for control through the BIOS. (See motherboard manual for details.) |
Modular Design The V3 Voltair was designed to be compatible with a wide range of enthusiast hardware options, including memory modules with high-profile heatspreaders and motherboards with large power regulation heatsinks. To achieve this compatibility, Voltair has a modular fan shroud that can be removed for easy installation. Compatibility has been tested with memory heatspreaders up to 55mm (2.16") tall (measured from bottom of DIMM). It is recommended to install the cooler without the fan shroud before installing memory to maximize working area and ease installation. |
