4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very clear sounds, the sfx button does awesome things, bass is good until you turn it way up, remote and control pod very useful, good price.

Cons: sub rattles at very high levels and bass becomes very distorted and weak at high levels. Must keep the loudness button on most of the time for sastisfactory sounds. lights on control pod hard to see from further away.

Other Thoughts: this is a good speaker set for the person who likes loud but not absurbly loud music. for the latter people, look elsewhere. there is too much distortion at these levels.

It will shake your room though, and for college students like myself, the people next to you, above and below you, and down the hallway for a ways will not apprieciate playing this quite loud at 4am. Then again, thats the point of having a big speaker set in college- to have the loudest one.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: Sounds good to me.

Cons: No digital audio, small remote

Other Thoughts: I have these hooked up to my TV. Use them for video games, DVD, airtunes, etc. Good quality sound. Great deal for the price. Just wish it had digital audio... The remote is a little annoying and I can't get my universal remote to control it... I have a Harmony Remote on order I hope it works with that (web site says it should)

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: This sub is better than the one in my S550.
the sub is O M F G. i never thought id hear a sub more beautiful than the harman kardons in the S550. for $50 this is best you could buy. on black friday amaz*n had them for $55. i was in disbelief when i checked altec lansing sold them for $50. i checked the manu site only because i checked klipsh site and saw that they were the same price as amazons so when i decided i wanted these 2.1 instead i decided hey might as well check, and wala it was a little bit cheaper, but they were back-ordered.

Cons: The satellites are not mind blowing, the sub is. i dont see much of a diff from the sfx and loud settings. on one note i do hear slight hissing from the satellites, very slight, only something i would pick up. but they def do give a hiss even wen u mute it. if ur comp fans make any noise at all u prob wont notice it. i notice everything. but im perfectly ok with these

Other Thoughts: i have the volume on 100% so i can control it from my comp and receive the max if i desire it. the satellites are sufficient. sub is amazing. buy them

5 out of 5 eggsVery good speaker!!!!

Pros: The sound was so great especially when listening to music & playing games. No regret choosing this over Logitech Z-2300 which has very strong base and at higher price. The design was excellent, looks cool and compact. Can adjust the base and treble with remote control as well! Very happy about this speaker so far!!!

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice

Pros: Very elegant design. People have commented on the level of the bass but I find it to be more than enough especially when the "Loudness" function is on. Overall sound quality is excellent.

Cons: The remote feels a bit on the cheap side but gets the job done.

Other Thoughts: It came with a card for a free wall mounting kit but they are all out. They don't sell them either which is disappointing. It's a nice option to have.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Doesn't have to be for your compter. You can hook it up to your ipod, tv, ps3, 360 etc. Lot's of bass!

Cons: If you want to hook it up to your TV you gotta buy another part. I went to a local store and for about $15 you can buy a Griffin StereoConnect audio cable. Just make sure your TV has RCA audio outputs.

Other Thoughts: Has 2 subwoofers in the enclosure and for it's size, these things thump!

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

Pros: Good sound over all. The controller is practical and effective.

Cons: The bass is not as powerful as I would like. Maybe I don't understand how speaker pricing runs, but the bass just tops out at a certain level. I mean, it is good, it can vibrate your desk. Maybe I was expecting too much.

5 out of 5 eggsSUPERB

Pros: -Elegant Look
-Variable Sound Options
-Ease of Set-Up
-Powerful Sound
-Excellent Choice for Audio Lovers Who Know What They are Listening For!!!

Cons: -People complain about the bass being too powerful. Yes the bass is prominent, but you have dual 5.25 subs in an isobaric chamber, which simply means you're going to get a deep accurate bass for the size of the speakers. I love bass and really this should be in the PROS! If the bass is too much at times thats why there is a convenient headphone jack on the wired remote.

Other Thoughts: -People also complain about their highs not being high enough and etc. These speakers are great quality speakers, so if you want to do them justice and not discredit the manufacturers or Newegg then I suggest buying a video card as well. Otherwise you wont have certain options if you're nit-picky with your sound. The system already comes with bass, treble, loudness, and sfx controls which does the job.

4 out of 5 eggsLooks decent, sounds okay, you'd better like the remote

Pros: Looks decent, sounds good even without the SFX/Loudness functions (both can be good or bad, depending on what audio source you're listening to).

Cons: You'd better like their remote - I tried copying volume control into two different learning remotes and neither could copy whatever it spits out. The minimum bass level is still somewhat loud - I like turning it down at night so I don't disturb anyone. Included "free wall mount" flyer has URL that they've phased out - in theory the mounts are still available if you open a ticket with tech support.

Other Thoughts: I had singled out this unit because of the IR remote, intending to merge volume control into my existing remote. For now I'm using both when I'm sitting back (watching TV, for instance), but I worry about this flimsy remote breaking or wearing out the bubble-contact buttons.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Sound Good for Average User,

Pros: Great sound, I can stand everything but the mid bass. It works good for anyone who doesnt really want to kill themself over their sound like me. Worth upgrading to though. I really think its a good choice for the average user.

Cons: Just some Bass tones rumble.

Other Thoughts: None.
