2 out of 5 eggsNot so Bueno

Pros: Relatively low price but remember that you get what you pay for.

Cons: Sound quality sounds like I plugged in my headphones and turned them all the way up and left the on my desk and the sub woofer was pointless because the bass is non existent.

Other Thoughts: Save for something better

3 out of 5 eggsCheap but they create sound

Pros: inexpensive, compact, usb powed ~ no bulky power supply cord.

Cons: Apple ear buds create better sound than the speakers output. I plugged in the speakers after listening on earbuds and much of the sound was just not there.

Other Thoughts: Save your money and buy something a little better.

4 out of 5 eggsPrice and Performance!

Pros: The price is great, the sound is very nice and not just for the price. The speakers are small and look sleek on the desk.

Cons: I took one egg off because the subwoofer does not have any independant volume/bass control. Also the knob on the back of the speaker which controls the power is a bit of a pain to reach around and turn off. Neither of which though would prevent me from buying this unit again.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for what you pay for

Pros: price
sub-woofer is good
satelites arent that bad, for what you pay for, they are good, with the sub-woofer, the bass is good, it can make my desk vibrate on bid sound in BF3. it is in no way tinny. you get what you pay for, and for what you pay, it is great.

Cons: They are not that loud for those of us who like to blast them, but for their price, for the average user, they are what you need

Other Thoughts: They are loud enough to shake the average computer desk, but not the floor. if a freind or you think subs go on the floor, not for these, put it on your desk and it will shake it relativly well

Cons: These speakers are pretty much what you pay for. Bought mine at Wal Mart. Wasnt impressed by what was coming out of them.

Other Thoughts: Spend a lil more and get something better than these unless your happy with a value pac speaker.

5 out of 5 eggsThey Do the Job

Pros: Inexpensive and good sound in one package makes them worth the money. Bass thumps okay, doesn't need to constantly thump.

Cons: Can't think of any.

Other Thoughts: Bought these from a local retail store after my old 4.1 Altec Lansing system's sub started dying a horrible death. These may not be surround sound, but they're certainly not bad. They're more than adequate.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat little speakers

Pros: For the price, these are great performers. Crisp mids and highs, though as you would expect, the bass is a little weak.

Cons: No headphone jack! This is incredibly annoying if you're me, since I have a wireless mouse and the transmitter is right next to the front headphone jack on my build, causing awful interference if I plug my phones in there. Swapping speaker and headphone cables out on the back of my case is a huge hassle, though this is possibly a problem specific to me.

Other Thoughts: Think about the size of the room you plan on using your speakers in before you buy them. For small spaces like a bedroom or a tiny studio apartment (welcome to college, everyone!) something with this level of power is perfect. For giant halls, not so much, so don't be disappointed when inexpensive speakers don't reach the parapets of your castle.

2 out of 5 eggsShy Away from This

Pros: I bought these at Walmart about 3 hours ago. I paid $24.88 which came to $26.37 with tax.

I guess that's the only pro I can come up with besides the fact that these speakers are almost better than having no speakers at all.

Cons: These speakers are WEAK. There is no bass coming from the VERY small subwoofer. There's not even a bass volume knob, or a treble knob.

Other Thoughts: On 12/27/07, I bought, from Walmart also, a set of Altec Lansing BX1121 speakers for the EXACT SAME price before & after tax. They have 15 watts RMS power and 30 watts system power. The sub is 4" and they rocked my room for 3 years and 10 months. I loved them. The right speaker conveniently had a volume, bass and treble knobs. The sub's cabinet dimensions were 7.9" x 7.9" x 8". So basically, a perfect square box. They're better. I still have the receipt and box from the old set. I'm thinking about hooking them back up and dealing with only the left speaker working. HMPH.

5 out of 5 eggsAL BX1221

Pros: - Shining, crisp high's and mid's.
- Haven't had any distortion at high volumes.
-Compact package will accomodate most computer desktops and laptop setups.
- Excellent for listening to all types of music (classical sounds pretty amazing with these speakers I must admit)

Cons: - On/Off button should be on the front of the speaker (not the back where it's currently located)
- Subwoofer not the greatest. (what do you expect though, it's rated @ 5 watts!) It does add slight depth to the sound, but you won't be rump shaking.

Other Thoughts: Bought these @ WalMart for a cheap "stand-in" until I get a comparable 5.1 that is no longer functional. I have/had the Logitech Z-560 THX certified speakers in which the control panel failed, which in turn caused constant static noise and speaker failures. Logitech does not offer a replacement control panel so I have the speakers and sub. A big 400 watt paper weight in a box. I am extremely happy with these speakers. The two front speakers are just a crisp and clear as my old set of THX Logitech's. For the price, it's a no brainer. Excellent buy with better than expected performance.

5 out of 5 eggsB-E-A-Utiful

Pros: Beautiful sound. Simple as that. Isn't that what speakers are for? Oh, not to mention they look awesome. For $30, the subwoofer and overall sound is astonishing. I came from terrible 2.0 speakers and the sound was atrocious. Now, everything is crisp and clear, and the bass is pretty good for this price range. Anyone look for a cheap (price, not quality) 2.1 speaker setup, this is the way to go!

Cons: It doesn't fry bacon for me.

Other Thoughts: Just want to commend Newegg on they're marvelous shipping. Not only were the speakers in the brand box, but inside the Newegg box, they were cushioned by approximately 3-4 inches of package stuffing (a.k.a. paper) on all sides, no woonder the box was so big.

Also, I ordered these Monday night, they shipped Tuesday morning, and got here last night (Thursday night) so my 3 day shipping turned into 2 day shipping, no complaints from me.
