5 out of 5 eggsgreat speakers

Pros: These speakers have very clean sound, even with the volume maxed out. My friend and i had them blasting with bass all the way up and didn't have any distortion. And even though it's only 2 speakers and a sub, they can produce a lot of noise.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: nice design

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very stylish and crisp sound speakers. Great for Gaming.

Cons: Right channel died after 2 years. Also started crackling in the subwoofer. Altec wants to charge me for replacement due to being outside of the 1yr warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Speakers

Pros: stylish design look very cool next to flat panel monitor. sound rendition is excellent and sub-woofer really thumps. a small control box does not take over deskspace and has small blue lights for volume level and power indicator. the speakers are tall, about 14 inches, but are very slim only 1 1/2 thick. The base of the speakers is removable for wall mounting. The speakers also tilt in the base, so you can have them vertical next to monitor or up to a 15 degree tilt. Subwoofer is in wooden box, not plastic! so the sound is nice and rich. This is for my home office set-up. I did not want a speaker stonehenge with a 5.1 setup, also all the 5.1 have very bulky satelites. I did not like. This 2.1 is perfect for my office. Its connected to a Soundblaster Fatality Platinum. Very well made product, great sound and highly recommended.

Cons: audio input does not offer digital connection

Other Thoughts: setup comes with extra extension cables for speakers, if you need.

5 out of 5 eggssweet speaker

Pros: These speakers work great for movies, music and games. I love to listen to music and they make it sound alive. The movies sound with quality like the movie theater. Great for the house and to provide entertainment

Cons: the price is high but definitely worth it.

Other Thoughts: sub not powerful but the satellites with the sub create a beautiful balance of sound.

5 out of 5 eggsSound quality A++++

Pros: Best PC speakers I've seen yet. The music clarity rivals that of good home-theater systems (on a smaller scale obviously). On a good quality audio source, you can really hear the independent notes and sounds.

Cons: Price may seem high to some, but it's worth the money. If I could find an easy way to mount these to the side of my LCD TV I'd pick up a pair just for that. Do not expect the sub to thump real deep - it's good but I've seen other systems with slightly more deeper/powerful.

Other Thoughts: One *minor* annoyance - the volume dial isn't quite the way I'd like it - you have to turn the knob a through a few "clicks" before it will raise to the next volume level. If you have the output volume on your source at a high level, the "jumps" between the volume level controls won't be "smooth" per-say... it's kinda hard to explain but a really minor issue. Oh, and the LED's are bright for being so small.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME SPEAKERS

Pros: Looks great, easy setup .. but mostly sounds great. I can't wait to get on my laptop and turn up the tunes. The family loves the new speaker system. Sounds a lot better than my home system. My daughter plays Radio Disney all evening long. Great Job Altec Lansing and NEWEGG.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I usually never rate a product, because most are average at best. But, these speakers are so good that I had too. If you are looking for compter, MP3 speakers. These are must.

5 out of 5 eggsamazing desktop speakers

Pros: unbelievable sound for a speaker setup this size/price. very nice looking with high quality construction, subwoofer is unobtrusive but still sounds great

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: These speakers are so good, I bought three pairs (one for home, one for my office, one for my vacation house). if you mainly listen to music (as opposed to movies) do not get a surround sound/5.1 speaker setup, a good 2.1 setup like this will sound far far better for the money.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Speakers I've Ever Owned,

Pros: Had them for 2 years and have only loved them more since the day I got them.

Incredible sound, They can get loud when you want them. Beautiful design.

Cons: Subwoofer is alright, nothing that limits anything I personally enjoy. This is being picky.

Other Thoughts: It may not be ideal for lows if you have no neighbors and want to crank it up REALLY REALLY high. But for everything else... they're perfect.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat Speakers but....

Pros: The FX6021 sound great, look nice!

Cons: After a couple years one day powered on system and noticed low hum through the speakers. Checked all connections and double checked everything. Then went to test speakers and they sound horrible! there very little sound from the sat speakers and nothing from woofer. No gain at all.

E-mailed Altec over a week ago and no response.

I would rather have another set of Monsoon flat panels any day!
Monsson's are 6 years old and still kick!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome speakers.

Pros: Sounds are crisp, clear, and full of life. Elegant design: goes well with almost any LCD you can find. Extremely loud when you want them to be and even still, sounds don't mash together.

Cons: Some jumps to higher or lower volume are a larger than I would like them to be, especially at night when only a few clicks can mean the difference between quiet and too loud.

Other Thoughts: I bought these about seven months ago to replace some older Altec speakers and hands down, these are the best speakers I have ever bought for a PC. Never once have they disappointed me. Remote works very well, and although it does feel cheap, works from quite a distance. Bass is tight and works when you want it to. Overall, if you have the money, don't hesitate to buy these.
