5 out of 5 eggs11 years and still going strong!!!

Pros: Bought back in 2004 since I really wanted a 7.1 system for gaming. Couldn't afford the Gigaworks system so settled on these. They've been going strong for 11 years and still playing metal music and techno like they were bought yesterday. Nice bass and decent mid-range.

Cons: Not really a con, but these obviously can't compete with powered studio monitors or a good 2.0 system (those cost more). Sound becomes muddy after you crank up the volume but these were never intended to blast music.

Other Thoughts: Best and longest lasting speakers I even bought in the low price range. Pair these up with a decent entry-level sound card or DAC and you have a solid system that will last you many years and different configurations. Due to limited room, I'm currently running these in 4.1 configuration and they sound pretty good.

5 out of 5 eggsGood investment

Pros: I just realized I've had these speakers for 9 years and never added a review. Best multi-channel system I've ever bought for my PC.

Cons: My roommates don't like the bass (that means it's good).

5 out of 5 eggs6 years ago this month...

Pros: I bought this system in March 2008 and it is still plugged into my computer right now. It has went through a couple computers and more than a couple sound cards and all I can say is I REALLY wish this system was not discontinued. I went back to look at this because I was shopping for a receiver and surround sound system for the TV and was hoping to get a 7.1 product (not so easy). This system has performed beautifully for MANY years and I like my stuff loud so I have pushed this thing!

Cons: A proprietary connection method requires you to improvise and get another cord. I am now using a Creative labs sound card and it is no longer necessary, but that extra cord has been zip tied to the cords for this thing since I purchased it and needed it 6 long years ago, it was an inconvenience at the time but not bad. Also because of my not wanting to buy extensions, splicing these wires was necessary immediately no matter what room you are in there is not enough speaker wire length here. I have never had a sound system where it was though so I cant be mad, I just wish the wire going into the speaker was removable without taking the speaker itself apart and tearing things up.

Other Thoughts: CREATIVE LABS!! Why does looking at your new products feel like it would be a downgrade from what I purchased over a half decade ago!? I love these speakers and I would love to think they will last forever but I know better. If and when that day comes I would like to purchase another Creative 7.1 system, if its out there....

5 out of 5 eggs7 Years Strong

Pros: 7 Years STRONG!

That's right... bought in 2006, it is now 2013 and still works perfectly just like the day I bought it.

I recently upgraded my sound card to Xonar STX from onboard and it really brought out the sound which made me go look for the speakers and write a review about it.

These speakers are awesome and the headphone output is also great and works as an amplifier without distortion.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 7.1...hard to find today.
Excellent sound quality.
Bought in early 2006, and still playing loud and clear (2013).

Cons: Had to buy extensions for cables.
Had to improvise connection to computer. Not all 7.1 sound cards are compatible with the cable provided.

Other Thoughts: My sound system has stood the test of time. Wish they'd make more 7.1 systems today. Definitely better than 5.1

5 out of 5 eggsThe Best

Pros: LOUD and CLEAR!!! The best set I've ever owned! Crystal clear on low or you could turn them all the way up so your neighbors can hear the party.

Cons: Newegg quit selling them...

Other Thoughts: Mine finally died after being accidentally knocked off my desk by my ex. 3 good years and now no-one sells them anymore.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat computer speakers

Pros: Sounds great for a great price. I use them in my living room connected to my htpc for movies and tv. Makes listening a lot nicer than just 2 speakers off the tv.

Cons: Cords could be longer..

Other Thoughts: Can always get extensions to wall mount them. Newegg cable prices are tons better than retail.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Speakers

Pros: Great sounding speakers. Very loud when turned all the way up. I can notice that some games take full advantage of these speakers such as Hitman and Max Payne.

Cons: After 2 years of owning these speakers my subwoofer went up. I am now trying to find a replacement subwoofer.

Other Thoughts: Don't hesitate, buy these speakers, you won't regret it.

5 out of 5 eggsSWEET!

Pros: SOunds really good in movies!!! Music is pretty good, haven't tried games yet. Really easy access to turn on and off and volume control.

Cons: could have a little longer cords,

Other Thoughts: if your gonna spend money on speakers might as well buy this instead of a 5.1 because it's pretty much same price and this is more next generation proff.
