5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -USB connection eliminates the problem of not having a sound card in your laptop. All I have is an integrated card that provides me with a headphone jack so this is a much better solution then running audio from that port.
-Great sound quality, both highs and lows, for listning to music or watching movies. I have them set up in my office and can still hear them in any room on the same floor. They aren't going to be as powerful as an actual stereo, obviously, but I have used them for a party and they were adequate for what I needed.
-LCD display is pretty cool as you can see what song is playing or what scene you are on in a DVD. I have Vista and use iTunes and WMP. I don't know about compatability with any other programs but it is a limited list.
-Very stylish and will make a nice addition to wherever you use them.

Cons: -POP3 email monitor is essentially worthless in my limited attempt to get it to work.
-You have to have the music program as your active window in order to change songs using the built in controls (at least on my computer). There may be a way to fix that but I am unsure how.

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend these speakers if you are looking to give your laptop (or desktop) audio a lot more punch for your everyday music and movie watching.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: Sturdy, Stylish, Goes with overall Desktop look layout, Great Sound, Replaces Clutter of a Home Theater, Delivers.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The Logitech Z-10 Speakers were my final decision after much searching, I did not want the clutter and cords a 7.1 desktop home theater brings, So I wanted speakers that were made to have the sound of a Home Theater without all the clutter, and these Speakers Deliver like it states, they Sound very well, it has deep rich high/lows/mid sound frequencies in every game. Very good Buy, 5 eggs, I highly recommend them.

Very heavy speakers which means they have some high quality internal equipment that make up the deep, clean, rich sound.

4 out of 5 eggs:)

Pros: Good sound with seperate bass and a nice glossy "Piano black" look to it. The LCD screen displays many things such as time/date, in-game stats, PC performance, etc. much like the G15's LCD screen. Overall there is nothing like these and they are definitely head turners.

Cons: The piano black finish gets marked up very easily, finger prints are a constant hassle to clean up. Whoever designed the touch activated controls with a piano black finish wasnt exactly the smartest man in the world.

Other Thoughts: Bought this to match the Dinovo Edge and Samsung 226 BW. It looks great and it works very well with the Dinovo Edge.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome, perfect!

Pros: Great sound, good bass, touch-screen works perfectly and doesn't seem to be system-intensive. It's customizable and I'm shocked at how cool it is to list the music info.

Cons: Although bass is very good, if you had a subwoofer it would "pound" better.

Other Thoughts: I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat 2.0 set!

Pros: The second I heard these speakers I was blown away. Honestly they are the best I have had and even on par with the logiech 5.1 THX set I use to own. The Treble and Bass is perfect. I'm not a obsessive sound maniac but I know what great speakers sound like and these produce great sound quality.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: If you don't have a sound card I would recommend using the USB even if you have a cheap sound card I would use the USB the speakers do a great job producing sound. As for the buttons it takes like maybe a minute tops to get use to. If you don't want a huge 5.1 set or even a huge woofer with a 2.1 get these. They are sleek and great sounding!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Rich Sounds

Pros: I got these speakers to add to my newly bought computer. I was quite thrilled to find out the speakers had fantastic rich tones with separate bass and treble.
I like the idea that whenever my hotmail had mail, it would let me know. The clock idea is cool with the date: day, day, month and year. When hooked up with the usb to your computer it functions well.

Cons: Once in a while it goes off to a different mode, and the clock and dates disappear, in which I have to play with it to get it back to where it was. Other than that, it's a fantastic speaker.

Other Thoughts: I paid $xx, seemed to be a good deal, when list was said to be $xxx.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Sound, So-So Buttons

Pros: These speakers sounds great, they are heavy, well-constructed units and look sharp. I use the analog input jack.

Cons: I have had a lot of problems with the touch-buttons - sometimes they are unresponsive. Sometimes I'll touch part of the speaker far away from the buttons and something will activate. While they look neat, they just don't work very well.

4 out of 5 eggsChoose Wisely

Pros: The speakers produce very clean sound. As other reviewers have said, and it is true, sound seems amplified equally across the sound spectrum. Your music, or any stereo sound, will seem different, but in a pleasing way. On a different note, the supplied software allows you to manage the LCD display, specifically things you want to see and don't want to see (example: time - yes; CPU usage - not so much) with a program accessed through the system tray. These speakers produce very nice sound: clean bass, crisp highs, strong mid-range -- flat and clean.

Cons: When attached through the USB cable alone, any application (e.g. games) that use 3D sound will not work as expected. You may hear some sound, no sound, or intermittant sound. For such applications (e.g. games) you'll need to use the analog connection cord, and not the USB connector. When setting the speakers up, you may have to "fiddle" a bit. Your results may vary. Eventually (maybe quickly or after a while) these speakers do work. The documentation is minimal, but enough to get you started in the right direction. You must ask yourself, do I want to deal with the "overhead" of using these speakers? How valuable is my time?

Other Thoughts: When you install the packaged software, and are using the USB cable, you can go to the Control Panel in Windows and select "Sounds and Audio Devices" and under the "Audio" tab actually choose between the "Z-10 USB Speaker" or your sound card (e.g. "SB Audigy 2 Audio [CC80]") to which you may have, through the line out on your sound card, a different pair of speakers attached. This gives you a way to choose between the speakers you are using: your Z-10 USB speakers for an interesting stereo only experience or your "regular" speakers for, well, applications (like games) that you want to produce sound in an expected manner. The Z-10's are good speakers if all your listening is from stereo sources, when using the USB connection. Otherwise use the regular sound cable. Also, you can adjust the volume of the speakers through Windows when the "Z-10 USB Speaker" is selected under the "Audio" tab (in USB mode) -- easier than touching the speaker. The Z-10's work well after a time investment.

2 out of 5 eggsv_r

Pros: Better than average 2.0 speaker(for $100 speaker)
Look pretty and fancy.

Cons: The USB connector will bypass your sound card and it will cause the speaker to use its default sound processing which is flat tone sound
It sound processing unit were sucks(Z5500 were much better as it come with Dolby pro logic-2)

Other Thoughts: This will be my first bad review of logitech.
I'm really disappointed.
If you use the USB connector, it will bypass your sound card and generated flat tone sound.
If you use aux connection to your sound card, it will generated much better sound, but it will cause the touch control panel useless.
Plus this speaker were fail to generated deep powerful sound for 30w speaker, its loud but distorted. For $100, i rater recommended creative T20.
It may look classic, but it able to do it's job as it suppose to.
