5 out of 5 eggsGreat Speakers

Pros: Great sound!

Cons: Would be nice of the base knob was on the speakers or on the iPod attachment where the power button is located rather than on the floor behind the base itself.

Other Thoughts: I bought there for a build I did for my wife. I normally buy Altec Lansing but wanted to stay under my budget for the build. I was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality and would consider them to save a few bucks over the Altec Lansing brand I normally buy.

2 out of 5 eggsAlright speakers

Pros: I really like how there's that one thing to control the speakers/sub plus you can plug your MP3 player into it to play it and there's a headphone jack on it.

Cons: After owning these for a few months one speaker died and I had to replace the two speakers. On top of that the volume control on the control thing is broken and you need to tune it perfectly in order to hear anything.

Other Thoughts: I would not buy this again.

5 out of 5 eggsPrice

Pros: These speakers full fill my needs. The sub woofer isn't as bad as people say it is and neither are the speakers. These speakers can get really loud and sound really good and so can the sub woofer. I've read that the sub woofer sometimes starts smelling like its burning. It hasn't bothered me and i haven't noticed it at all.

These are great for the price.

Cons: Nothing really. I lost the ipod cable.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor quality speakers

Pros: Better than no speakers.

Cons: Most of the cons have been covered by other reviewers, but the highlights:

1. The annoying hum in the woofer. I think it might be due to a poorly designed power supply. I may void the warranty and dig into it to see what's going on.

2. The satellites sound rather unclear, with poor definition. They remind me of some $5 speakers I used to use. The subwoofer produces mushy bass, so it performs poorly across the entire audio spectrum.

3. The control panel/pod dock is not only a joke, it is almost impossible to install on a desk that is placed against a wall. It is hard-wired to the subwoofer, so you can not drop its wire over the edge of the table, like you can with the speakers.

Other Thoughts: I did not expect these to sound like my Valkyries, but I did expect them to have better clarity than the cheap $5 speakers I replaced them with. This set has the subwoofer, so it produces the bass signals better, but again, it's poorly controlled.

5 out of 5 eggsExactly what I wanted

Pros: Basically, this is a great 2.1 system that has come through in every sense that I was looking for to replace my ancient little speakers.

What I was looking for:
* Something that allows me to fill a medium sized room with clean good sound
* Rich bass
* Hook-up to connect an mp3 player without having to climb under my desk to unplug the jack from the computer - in other words, a second line-in
* Clean appearance
* Have the option to turn things up really loud (even if I would never do this, I just like the feeling of having options)
* On the affordable side (less than $75)

This set delivered on all counts. 5 eggs baby.

Cons: None really. People that complain about the cables confusing them should relax. Setup was completely straight-forward.

Other Thoughts: If you're bouncing around between reviews wondering which one to get, this is probably the one.

4 out of 5 eggsGood speakers

Pros: -Great sound quality
-Bass Volume control
-Looks nice
-iPod dock can be useful, but I've never used it. Easy set up though.

Cons: -It feels that the Sub woofer is going to blow at high volumes, but it hasn't yet.
-The wires are so oddly configured that its is a nightmare setting up the system. Setting up for the second time made me want to chuck the speakers out the window! But once you are past that, there isn't much else of a problem. I'd say the wire set up is just about the ONLY reason why this product gets a 4/5 eggs.

Other Thoughts: I have no idea on what the designers were thinking when they made the wire set up. The speakers work great so far. Second best speakers I've ever bought, and it's a great value.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat- not perfect

Pros: these are great speakers for the price. the subwoofer is absolutely amazing, it literally shakes the floor in the room im using it in. if you turn these speakers up you can fill a whole house with sound before it gets distorted.

Cons: the ipod dock is useless. period. its litterally something to lean your ipod against with a slot for the plug. it just creates a tangled mess. i would have gotten rid of it if it didn't have the volume on it

5 out of 5 eggsThese are sick speakers for the price

Pros: These speakers are pretty sick. The massive has a massive output and so do the speakers for their size. At mid-volume, this set can be heard all throughout my apartment with good quality and clarity (apartment is about 2000 sq. ft.). The dock is useful, but the fact you can plug an 1/8" straight into the volume control is really useful so you don't have to go plugging and unplugging your PC wires. They're also really portable and self-powered, so you can set them up in a living room/etc. for party tunes.

Cons: The wires are oddly put together, but as long as they're behind your desk or PC, it's no biggie. At high volumes, the highs can seem a bit overwhelming and the sound gets a bit distorted, but honestly these are loud enough at lower volumes it's not really necessary.

Other Thoughts: I've had these speakers for over two years and they still sound fantastic and I've never had any trouble from them.
