Decent Speakers for the Price
- Pros: Well, I bought these with my x-fi platinum fatal1ty, moving from 2.1 to 5.1 finally. I upgraded from a Klipsch Promedia 2.1 to these, and the sound was pretty decent. being 5.1, games did come alive, noticing sounds I never noticed with my old setup.
- Cons: My first con with these, was the front channel speaker wire length was absolutely too short. It may work for others, but for me, I was limited in my placement because of this. Note, this may not be a con for others, just my desk is fairly wide and I would have liked to spread out my sound a bit more from where I wanted my subwoofer, instead of having to move it under the middle of my desk from the side where it sounds better.
My second con with this system, is the subwoofer itself. Compared to my 5 year old Klipsch, this one hasnt come close to the power I got from my old subwoofer, at certain parts of the room where the old sub would wound the most powerful, it was painful to listen to (lots of bass) this one hasnt impressed me with the music, or games.
My last con with this system, is the overall volume, my old 2.1 system would get ear-splittingly loud without problem. I would leave it that loud at times, and to go other parts of the house and be able to hear my music loudly.
- Other Thoughts: But overall, it really is a decent system, quality is better at least than my old system, but I am more of a power man.
The matrix thing is pretty cool, but I usually leave it off, as it makes the system not true 5.1. I guess it is only really useful for turning 2.0 into 5.1 sounding. Doing that without the sound card is pretty nice and a great feature to have for people without good hardware, or even if they want to connect these to a TV or something, also the reason why this is a 4 and not a 3.
great speakers
- Pros: great sound, loud, easy to set up
- Cons: not really any.
- Other Thoughts: one tip for those who own these: dont turn them all the way up. I blew out one of speakers within a day or two, then about 6 months later (yesterday), i blew out two more cranking them up too high. Just a word to the wise: just because the volume can go up higher doesn't mean that the speakers can play any louder. Not really worth screwing up the sound on them....

Not for music, not for cinema
- Pros: Simple and effective mounting options, centre speaker that sits on LCD monitors comfortably, ascetically pleasing.
- Cons: The sound just doesn't measure up. The Bass is sloppy (too high, and changes the sound of the music you love), the highs are mediocre at best. The sound quality is just lacking for music, and cinema, but they are marketed for gaming after all. The speakers cannot be directionally adjusted when mounted.
- Other Thoughts: Maybe I am just being picky because I am coming from a THX certified line of speakers that had awesome sound reproduction, and quality all around. They got damaged in moving (they lasted 5 years) so I had to replace them and so far, these Logitechs don't measure up. That's what I get for going cheap.
Great for 2 months
- Pros: Great sound when it was working.
- Cons: Subwoofer totally died after 2 months. The other speakers were still functional. Logitech support was poor. The first 2 agents told me they were sending an X540 as a replacement and that I did not need to return the G51. The 3rd agent said I had to return the G51 and would refund me money instead. This has gone on for a month now.
- Other Thoughts: Logitech no longer makes G51 or anything comparable and has offered a refund.

- Other Thoughts: Gigabyte ep45 Mobo W/Realtek Audio Codec On Board
