3 out of 5 eggsLogitech: Worst support ever

Pros: This speaker system lasted a long time, and performs fairly well while it works. When it quits working, a fix would probably be easy if it had any support at all.

Cons: The logitech website does not respond to password reset requests. The email never comes. The logitech telephone support system is broken; it does not forward to support. There are no replacement parts. There is not even a breakdown manual/video. Nothing. No support at all.

Other Thoughts: I will probably be breaking mine down to repair it, but it's annoying that Logitech bends over backwards to avoid supporting their own products. I won't buy their brand again.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great value for a surround system
Feet can be removed, revealing a standard screw mount
Both PC and RCA inputs, good for if you have consoles at your desk.

I love the separate volume knob that goes on your desk, it even has its own headset jacks and a set of lights showing the volume level.

Cons: Quality, while on par for gaming speakers really isn't that great. In particular, the subwoofer seems too play too much of the frequency range. If you play Oblivion every NPC's voice sounds like it's playing more than 50% from the subwoofer which is funny but annoying. That's probably the most critical example, most things sound okay.

No Optical input.
Volume knob has notches instead of being continuous.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat... Until the subwoofer quit

Pros: Good sound
Long cords
Overall great

Cons: The subwoofer just stopped outputting all sound, and there's nothing you can do. They don't offer replacements and they won't ship you the part separately. So now I'm stuck with 5 speakers with nothing to make them work.

Other Thoughts: I really liked these when I had them, but I'm very disappointed in Logitech. I've had several of their products before and they always answer my questions and take care of my issues, but they basically told me there's nothing I can do and all 5 of the speakers that still work are now useless.

3 out of 5 eggsAnnoying humming noise, mediocre otherwise

Pros: Have had these for close to four years now. For the price, not too bad of quality for a 5.1 setup at this price.

Cons: After about two years, the subwoofer started making an audible very low pitched humming noise. Seems to go away or atleast isn't noticable when playing music, but any other time it humms away. Have tried plugging into several different sources, no change. Also tried multiple power outlets to see if it was a ground loop, was not. I have came across quite a few other reviewers (not necessarily on new egg) reporting the same problem.

Mediocre sound quality otherwise. Wasn't expecting very hi-fi at this price. I no longer need a 5.1 setup, so I will be replacing these soon.

2 out of 5 eggsNot for music, not for cinema

Pros: Simple and effective mounting options, centre speaker that sits on LCD monitors comfortably, ascetically pleasing.

Cons: The sound just doesn't measure up. The Bass is sloppy (too high, and changes the sound of the music you love), the highs are mediocre at best. The sound quality is just lacking for music, and cinema, but they are marketed for gaming after all. The speakers cannot be directionally adjusted when mounted.

Other Thoughts: Maybe I am just being picky because I am coming from a THX certified line of speakers that had awesome sound reproduction, and quality all around. They got damaged in moving (they lasted 5 years) so I had to replace them and so far, these Logitechs don't measure up. That's what I get for going cheap.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat for 2 months

Pros: Great sound when it was working.

Cons: Subwoofer totally died after 2 months. The other speakers were still functional. Logitech support was poor. The first 2 agents told me they were sending an X540 as a replacement and that I did not need to return the G51. The 3rd agent said I had to return the G51 and would refund me money instead. This has gone on for a month now.

Other Thoughts: Logitech no longer makes G51 or anything comparable and has offered a refund.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Pc Surround System

Pros: Delivers Impressive Dts/Ac3/DD5.1 Sound From Dvds
More Than Loud Enough For Bedroom/Office Type Install
Independent Sub/Ctr/Rear Volume Controls
I Like The Ctr Speaker On Top Of The Lcd Monitor Design
Quality Seems To Be What I've Come To Expect From

Cons: Plugging In The Headphone Mutes The Speakers
Headhones Should Have A Dedicated(Always On) Setup
Rear Speaker Cords Should Be 20' Long
Front Speaker Cords Should Be 10' Long
Limited Front/Rear Speaker Mounting Positions

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte ep45 Mobo W/Realtek Audio Codec On Board

4 out of 5 eggsGood speakers

Pros: I researched here on NewEgg reading reviews and other sites to find the best bargan for the price.these speakers are decent for what you pay for.your not going to get a power house sound out of this is decent at half volume-note its fairly old 2.1 Kly... had a harder hit on the base and better satelites.but hey these are worth the price.let me clear a few things up i read in previous reviews that were'nt very clear-Matrix mode is used to define the difference between a 2.1 and gaming select you have your 5.1 sound.unselected, you have the two front speakers and sub working for a 2.1 sound.i have a very good sound card so/gaming or unselcted is all i use.your 5.1 sound only works when in game mode only.i haven't heard a true 5.1.sound come from this set yet.maybe from a more expensive set you should.for the most part i am happy.playing DOOM 3 will scare the .... out of you with this set up..chuckles.i doubt you will find a better deal for the buck!

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Speaker wire length worked fine for me,the speakers ALL adjust so you CAN mount them all on the wall, and the center speaker on the top of your monitor if you like.(i read a previous reviewer claiming these speakes did not wall mount,IGNOR IT).the master controler sits nicely on your desk,(or close by)its cord length is 8'or so ,power on or off from the controller, wich i like ,no more bending over for a hard reach for the power button on my old sub.i deducted 1 egg because i am critical to sound .not very good highs from this system, and not all that powerful.but hey if you want power pay more money.these are worth what your paying for trust me,a good surround sound creep out game like doom3 will prove it to you!hope i helped answer some questions, game on.NEWEGG ROCKS

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: You get what you pay for. In this case however this system far exceeded my expectations. Not as nice as my living room surround, but for my PC, this is the ticket. Center speaker rests nicely on top of my new Asus 23.5" monitor.

Cons: Speaker wires could be a little longer, at least the rear channels.

Other Thoughts: I made it work in my office, but I would suggest at least 2 10' extensions for the rear speakers.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth EVERY CENT

Pros: The cable to the remote is of a decent size and reaches approx. 6 feet. Very good for controlling the volume while watching a movie without having to get up to change anything. Also the controls allow you to change the volume on each section of the speaker system (master, sub, center, surround). The cable length is good and the sound quality is great. Definitely worth purchasing for a gaming and movie enthusiast.

Cons: Not really any, I wish the remote was wireless, but that's something I was able to get around.
