5 out of 5 eggsHardy Speakers

Pros: I've had these speakers for about 10 years! They've been moved, jostled, through in boxes... the works, and they survived through it all (had them for college, three other apartment moves, etc...).

I have to say that the set I bought (from circuit city when it was still around) has been absolutely great!

The wires are long and flexible, the sound is great and the durability is great.

The set I have are great and provided many hours of good sound!

Cons: They are now 10 years old and I think the wear and tear of moving and being thrown about have caught up to them.

The left speaker comes in and out from time to time and doesn't always stay on/stay at the same volume as the right one. This started happening about a year ago (the last time I moved).

The bass wasn't quite what I was expecting and needed to be tweaked a little to get it just right, but it could have also been the house I was staying in that made it sound funny.

The supports on the bass have fallen off (I have just stuck them back on and they seem to stay as long as you don't move/pick it up), but this could also be because of the age and the numerous times I have moved the unit.

I never had any issues with the light off of them, in fact, I thought the lights on it were pretty cool!

Over all I think they're just at their limit in terms of age and, for me, that's what is driving me to get new speaker.

Other Thoughts: A very hardy set! Lasted me 10 years! I was actually very surprised to see them here on Newegg since they have been around this long! For what I used them for (college, home and personal computer use) they were an amazing set of speakers!

I would consider getting another set, but I would like to upgrade as I have grown past what I originally used them for (the new ones will be going into an art studio that is much more open and larger area than what these have been in before).

I would recommend them for personal/office/college use though!

3 out of 5 eggsdecent budget speakers

Pros: Nice sound, small size

Cons: not as much bass as preferred, but that's to be expected with a lower wattage speaker set.

3 out of 5 eggsFit the bill

Pros: Bought these to replace a very old Creative Labs set I had. Was on a budget & these fit the bill. Not the best set of speakers and no where NEAR as good as Logit*ch (but stay away from the z323 version), but they sound ok.

Cons: A little muffled... no crisp, clear highs from the satellites. The casing that encloses the blue light falls apart everytime you move or touch the speakers so be careful.

Other Thoughts: Cons aside, these speakers have lasted 9 years and are still working... lol

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Speakers

Pros: Controls on the speaker, lenght of the cables, sound output, overall everything. I bought these to replace an old desktop set of speakers and I am very impressed. For the price point, I don't think you can find a better set of speakers.

Cons: Deep bass is lacking

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a set of desktop speakers for the office or at home (not gaming), then this is the set for you! I love them at the office and have no issues at all with them!

5 out of 5 eggsBest speakers I've ever owned.

Pros: Amazing sound, simple as that. Sturdy, looks and feels high quality, and the price is right. Very clear highs and mids, powerful bass.

I've owned a set of these for a few years now, this is my second set. Not because the first set broke or anything. A friend of mine needed good speakers and my computer was down (video card burned out), so I wasn't using them. When I replaced my video card, instead of asking for them back, I just bought another one. I'd buy these a third time if I had to lol. The quality vs price is outstanding.

Cons: Zero

Other Thoughts: I'm a musician and quality sound is a priority for me. I've owned expensive 5.1 and 7.1 speakers (up to $400) and none of them compared to these, especially for the price. The bass mesh grill is very nice, it can take a beating (it's been tested lol). I would like to see the same mesh grill over the satellite speakers but that's just personal preference.

The light on the satellite speaker is pretty bright and I would like the available distance between the two satellite speakers increased. The satellite speakers are a little tall but nothing to take an egg away for. These are purely aesthetic preferences on my part and in no way does this decrease my opinion on this product. 5 eggs all the way.

I'd recommend this product to anyone/everyone.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice speakers

Pros: Compact, easy to put together, great sound. These speakers are exactly what I was looking for. I bought these to replace an old 2.0 set of speakers at the office. They deliver clear sound for listening to my pandora during the day. Controls on the front of the right speaker for bass, power and volume is really nice for when calls come in I can quickly lower the volume.

Cons: Bass doesn't rumble like my set at home. You can definitely hear the bass, but you won't feel it. Not enough of a negative to take an egg away. I knew what I was paying for, still great sound.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this set does exactly what I need it to, deliver great sound for a decent price. I am very impressed by Cyber Acoustics and their product. I've usually stayed with other more well known brands, but I think I might have to expand what I look for in speakers now.

2 out of 5 eggsLook cool, Sound bad

Pros: My first impression was great. They look good, decent sound response.

Cons: My second impression onward was much worse. The right speaker kept cutting out; it crackled at higher volumes (not even deafeningly loud, just... hear across the room volume). As others mentioned, the satellites being directly wired to one another limits their placement.

Other Thoughts: Fine at low volumes. But you want more than that, right? I learned my lesson - staying Logitech for speakers now.

4 out of 5 eggsDisappointed, but impressed

Pros: For the price, I think they sound excellent! There seems to be ample length of wiring, so that was no problem. Some of the reviews I read before I got these stated the bass sounded muddy and the satellites sounded tinny. Well I suppose compared to a several thousand dollar 7.1 surround sound system, that may be true, bu then. . . . . . . .

Cons: I was disappointed that the satellites were directly wired to each other, which limited placement. There was ample amount of wire between satellites, but it would have been better if the used plugs and sockets.

Other Thoughts: The quality of the sound also relies heavily on the quality of the input. Old Saying, "Garbage in, Garbage out."

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: For this price range these speakers are excellent. The mid and high range out of the satellite speakers are clear and more impressive than I was expecting. Also, this is the only speaker system with a 6.5 inch subwoofer cone in this price range. The other brands use 5.25 inch cones, which need more excursion to move the same amount of air. With less movement, the larger subwoofer cone has less distortion. I replaced a failing 2.1 speaker system that had a 5.25 inch subwoofer and this is noticeably better. There is less distortion at higher power settings than the old system. But, remember, you have to keep your expectations reasonable. This is a powerful system, but don't expect the kind of bass response you'd get out of an 8, 10, or 12 inch subwoofer. Finally, the desktop control for the bass and volume is pretty nice.

Cons: Really, at this price, there is no downside. It is solid at all frequencies . . . the sound is quite clear and accurate. It also gets pretty loud, if you want that. Just keep your expectations reasonable and you'll be very happy.

Other Thoughts: It's about 30 watts RMS total.

Bottom line is this it's simply a great value. I think only the unreasonably picky or the delusional will be dissatisfied.
