does it come with a cord or stay at motherboard level ?

This does not come with any other hardware.  It only comes with the microphone.  So when you plug it in, it will be sitting right on your motherboard.

Noise supression?  or Acoustic Echo cancellation?

I do not think it has either. I use it on a daily basis and everyone I talk to says it is crystal clear with no static or background noise. I paid 4.50 for it about 2 years ago. It is plugged into my steel series keyboard. It is by far one of the best mics I have ever purchased. Hope that help you.

Question 3

Is it standing right up like on the picture, or?

I have my computer right on my desk top with the monitor sitting on top of it.  The connector Mini Microphone works great for me, as there are no wires to untangle and the mic input on my computer is right in front of me.  You can twist the mic 360 degrees around the input, put it stands up as the picture shows in the input socket.  ...hope that answers your question.

Does this item hinge?
Is it uni- or multi- directional?

No/Maybe. I ordered this because it clearly shows a hinge in the picture but the piece I received was formed solid at a 90 degree. After some research, I found out this product comes in two styles, one with a hinge but they both have the exact same model number. I would wager that the solid 90 is an older model and they sent me that to clear inventory.  The same may or may not happen to you but I can say that the one I received works adequately for my purposes.
