No it does not. But dont let that deter you. This is a solid speaker system. Great sound.

Can anyone tell me if that volume control thing is heavy enough to sit on the desk if i connect headset with spring cord?

  Probably not if you have a heavy set like I use.  Earbud types would work that way.  One thing you could do would be to secure the cord going to the subwoofer to something out of sight to keep the heavy headset from pulling the control pad off the desk.  The control pod is the easiest way to mute when a phone call or personal conversation interrupts, I really like this type of control.

Can the sub and speakers be used with a TV?

Probably.  The RCA plugs that are used with a game console should likewise work with the audio output on your TV or monitor. I have not tried this specific product in that way, but other devices have worked with the TV in this way. A lot depends on your TV and the outputs provided by the manufacturer.

Would you be able to use these speakers and Sub with a laptop? I have an Alienware 18 at college instead of a desktop and I would love to get these.

Yeah, these would work great w a laptop. The only issue I saw with these is the satellite speaker wires are not as long as they should be, for desk use. I had to get an extension for one of the speakers to reach the sub. Sound wise, these sound great.

does these speakers connect by usb?

I am sorry, i do not remember how they plug in, BUT, i do know they did not work ! One speaker was ok, the other was horrible.  Return shipping was so high i boxed them up and put in the trash.

Yes, they are usable with a laptop. The connection is a standard audio jack, so if you are currently able to plug in headphones this system will work fine.

I'm gonna be using this with my computer and im wondering if i can hook up my phone to this too?

It comes with a dial volume adjustment that has 3.5mm headphone and mic Jacks on it. So yes, you will be able to plug your phone in to it, provided you have a male to male 3.5mm headphone cord.

"Reasonable loud" is fairly subjective, but, my unit has not experienced any distortion at the volumes I listen at.

do you need Roswell sound card or can they be used with any sound card or the external USB sound adaptors?

You do not need any specific sound cards for this product.  It utilizes a standard auxiliary cable which interfaces with just about every sound card (that I know of).  A lot of current cards even have more than one but at any rate, you should be fine.  I purchased one of these to use in our small workout room and it interfaces with TV and laptop audio just fine.
