5 out of 5 eggsgreat speaker set for test, and building bench

Pros: They are powered by a USB port and they are small and handy for any testing/building station ...also good for those who need sound, but not quality at loud volumes type sound,.

Cons: for what I use these for I see 0 cons...these speakers are not something I would ever use on a permanent computer set-up but they are perfect for any technician that needs to check the sound capabilities of current builds

Other Thoughts: the sound quality is tolerable at low to midland volumes....the best use of these speakers are(as I have stated) for techs...best to just leave them in the original box pull out the usb wire and test away :)

3 out of 5 eggsCheap but effective

Pros: Cheap!

Cons: Can't play at the highest volume on my computer, quality is low, no volume adjustment knob on speakers.

Other Thoughts: It is cheap. That was my deciding factor in purchasing these. I bought nice headphones in case I wanted quality.

5 out of 5 eggswork fine

Pros: Sound better than the L****** speakers they replaced.
No power cord

Cons: No volume control...must use windows
Blue light is way too bright. Seems bright even after I stuck an address label over it...no biggie I'll find another sticker

Other Thoughts: The wire between the speakers should be longer. I have a 27" monitor and I have to place them behind it because the wire isn't long enough...again no biggie, I'll splice more speaker wire on.

1 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely Horrendous

Pros: -They came free with The Eagles I bought.....
-They are black with a blue led power indicator, and chic design.

Cons: -Super flimsy build quality especially the stand, Feels like it's going to break. Overall the unit feels cheap(I know it's priced for cheapness, just pointing that out)
-The speakers are usb powered BUT they lack any sort of control via on the speaker. You can't turn it on or off unless you unplug the usb power and volume will be have to controlled through the system.
-The important part, I know these speakers are probably for an office or someone with a basic system, but listening to music on these is horrible. I've heard laptops with better sound quality. The speakers sound like a deaf person tuned them. The sound produced sounds like a mud barrier is blocking the drivers.....

Other Thoughts: Ugh... I'm keeping these in my closet... forever

4 out of 5 eggsThrifty is good!

Pros: *Affordable.

*They look good, in my opinion.

*They are not bulky and the plastic's fit & finish are of decent quality--not Rolls Royce quality, but Chevrolet quality (which is good enough for the masses). Structurally, they are quite good.

*These are loud enough to be heard clearly throughout my apartment & the sound from mine is not distorted or tinny--though they certainly are not Hi Fidelity and do not shake the windows. They are not meant to.

*I would recommend these speakers to anyone who needs a suitable pair of speakers to hear audio on the cheap. They're a good deal for the price.

Cons: *These speakers are not marked 'LEFT' or 'RIGHT'. Therefore, using the sound settings utility in Windows, I discovered that the lighted speaker in the 'RIGHT' speaker--just as I thought. I labeled them on the back with my label maker.

*Documentation? What documentation?

*The 'RIGHT' speaker has a bright blue light which can be a bit annoying.. I'll find a small sticker around here somewhere to cover it. I don't need to block it totally; I just want to dim it somewhat.

*The dynamic range & power consumption are meager. On the box it says that the frequency response is "250Hz-18KHz." Power is rated at only 2 Watts. I suppose that means 2 Watts each. They get the job done though.

Other Thoughts: I bought these for someone else, but ended up keeping them for myself because I needed some speakers immediately. The wire between the L/R speakers is only 27" (68.5cm) long. They can span most flat panel monitors, but that's about it. I wish they had a on/off/volume control because I could use it. I may install an inline control of my own eventually. (Who am I kidding? When I find a good deal on a nice set of speakers, I'll jump right on them & give these away.) The stand is fixed & can't be removed. Some people with different setups may prefer to remove the stand in order to fit their layout (I could hack them off with a saw & turn them horizontally!?).
