will this scan a "Enter" barcode and emulate pressing a submit button with in an application?

It actually has a configuration sheet that comes with it, one of the options is ending each scan with an enter keystroke.

Question 2

Can you wall mount the stand and adjust so that it will still hold the scanner?

Yes I have and it works  but the spring stand might sag over time if has to take the the full weight of the usb cable.  The USB cable essentially doubles the weight and in the desktop configuration this is not an issue.  It's not really an issue in the wall mount configuration but it needs to be taken into account so that the slack from the usb cord is being taken into account.

Question 3

What's the difference between the LS2208 and LI2208? Is the LI merely a newer, better version of the LS? I work in the gift industry as a sales rep and need to scan bar codes from vendor catalogs to write orders. Thanks!

The LS is a traditional laser-line barcode scanner -- it emits a red laser-line like we're all used to.  The LI is a new imaging type barcode scanner -- it has a small camera that captures the barcode.

I've used both types and they've both got their upsides and downsides.

LS2208 Pro:  If you have a *very* small or dense barcode, the laser type scanners will probably be more likely to capture it over the imaging scanners.

LS2208 Con:  The laser scanners are less forgiving if you don't hit the barcode just the right way -- rotated perfectly, and angled right.

LI2208 Pro:  The imaging scanners are more forgiving and typically capture more easily and quickly under normal conditions.

LI2208 Con:  If you have a very small or dense barcode, it may have a difficult time capturing it. Also, if you have many barcodes very close to each other, it may not be the easiest in the world to aim at the right one.

Overall, unless you have very small barcodes you have to capture, I'd go with the LI2208 instead of the LS2208.

Anyone know if this scanner works with Follett Programs??

I believe it will.  We use Follett and have used other scanners with it in the past.  The scanners Follett sells are insanely expensive, but they do work really well.  I have noticed that the follett scanner reads the barcode almost instantly.  While the other scanners you have to sometimes play around with the distance the item is from the scanner  before it reads the barcode.  Also, I am not sure if the scanners from Follett are 1D, 2D, or 3D.  That is why they could be very costly and perform better.

will this scanner store multiple scans (how many) in the reader or does it have to be attached to a computer via usb cable to store the scans?
