GreenPower UPS - GreenPower UPS technology reduces UPS energy costs by utilizing high frequency circuitry. This not only reduces utility consumption, but also reduces heat dissipation and system noise.
Ultra-Quiet Functionality - The combination of an advanced cooling design, high-end system components, and GreenPower UPS technology give CyberPower UPS systems the lowest sound emissions in its class. This makes our UPS perfect for desktop applications, audio/video installations, and quiet workstation environments.
EMI/RFI Filters - Provide shielding against electromagnetic interference & radio frequency signals. Most commonly, this is used to prevent line noise or "humming" that occurs over telephone lines or stereo electronics.
Widely-spaced Outlets - Widely spaced outlets allow you to conveniently add large transformer-based plugs without compromising the utility of other outlets.
USB Connectivity - HID compliant USB port enables full integration with built-in power management and auto shutdown features of Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.
LED Indicators - LED status lights indicate Power-On and wiring faults.
Audible Alarms - Audible tones identify when the unit is running off battery power, unit overloads and low battery.
Convenient Mounting – Multiple mounting options: horizontal, vertical, cabinet, and wall.
Resettable Circuit Breaker - Convenient unit reset switch in case of an overload.

1 out of 5 eggsabsolute garbage

Pros: none

Cons: Absolute rubbish. Defective out of the box. installed to replace 5 year old APC. A week later begins beeping with battery failure. Feels flimsy and lightweight compared to APC. I go through about 50 UPS devices a year for my customers. I took a chance on this one and the first CyberPower I buy is defective.

Other Thoughts: Total waste of money. Customer mad i sold them something dead so soon. Spend the extra for the APC. They are on my non-approved vendor list now.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding the CyberPower CP425SLG. Based on the experience described, this may be a result of overloading of the UPS. The CP425SLG is designed to emit an alarm when it is overloaded. If you are running a sytem with a large power supply, you may have exceeded the unit’s 255 watt maximum load capacity, and initiated the overload alarm. We'd be happy to trouble shoot the problem. Please contact us immediately at 877-297-6937 M-F 8-5 CS, or priority1@CPSww.com, so that we can act to completely address your issue and ensure your total satisfaction.

CyberPower offers an industry leading 3-Year Warranty on all of our UPS products, which includes the battery. With that said, we do sincerely apologize for any negative experience you have had involving this specific UPS unit.

3 out of 5 eggsCheap fix, but it will only last a couple of months

Pros: Price and design.

Cons: It has a 30-day warranty. Enough for the manufacturer, as mine did not make it to the 4-month. Did not even fool with their warranty, as I knew I was going to get Junk from them anyways. The problem is not the battery, it's the device itself, if i could at least use it as a Power Strip, but not even that, once it dies, it literally won't even work plugged straight into an outlet as a Power Strip.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for.

2 out of 5 eggsBuy another brand

Pros: All my plugs fit.

Cons: -Not durable.

Other Thoughts: I've bought 3 CyberPower UPS 425VA. None have lasted more than 1.5 years. I had 2 supporting my computers and printers and a 3rd for my receiver, since my area gets brownouts that clear my A/V settings. There's no warning of a week battery, they just turn off and refuse to turn back on. Looking to buy a APC next. I have a Geek Squad-branded tower UPS with display which has been running fine for 2+ years. Save your money and buy another brand.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for trying the CP425SLG. This model is an entry level UPS. The CP425SLG is only able to handle a maximum of 255 watts - the equivalent of an entry level PC and monitor. If you a connecting anything higher than 255 watts the UPS will be overloaded and will shutdown. Addtional we do not recommend attaching a laser printer to the UPS.

We would recommend you consider one of our higher wattage models. Our web site has a "UPS Selector Guide" which will help guide you to the correct models that match your needs - www.cpsww.com. Thank you, Cyber Power Systems

5 out of 5 eggsWorked as expected

Pros: Worked out of box as expected no issues

Cons: Has a small capacity however I knew that and was not putting much on them so not much of a con.

Other Thoughts: Not for large power consuming items as you wont get much battery backup - better for low watt items.

3 out of 5 eggsHoped for better

Pros: Features are great
8 outlets
425VA
255watts

Cons: Battery died after 1 power outage
Will not recharge

Other Thoughts: I was using this to make sure a tiny 2 outdoor cam security dvr would continue running during power outages.
All it had to do was run 2 little ac/dc wallwarts of less than 3 amps.

When the power finally went out it took over and doing it's job quite nicely.
I'm not sure how long it beeped before I finally turned it off *(20 or 30 min?)
The dvr and camera's continued to work but would not power back up after power was restored.
no green light and will not recharge, now it's an expensive surge protector?

1 out of 5 eggsSpend the extra $10-$20

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Cheap. This is my second CyberPower UPS. After my horrible experience with the first one, I don't know why I let myself be suckered into buying a second one. While it works great as a surge protector, and the outlets are excellently placed for multiple adapters, the battery doesn't last. I've seen it stay powered for at most 10 seconds with just a monitor and pc. Using the cord to connect to the PC caused the strip to constantly power off and reset. If your power fails and is restored, the strip does not always power back up, even after you reset it. It will take several cycles of the power button before the strip stays on. Spend the extra $20 and get an APC.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding CyberPower’s CP425SLG. Based on the unique experience described, we recommend that you contact our free technical support to immediately address the issue. I believe the issue you have experienced is due to the PFC power supply in your PC. The UPS is compatible with some PFC designs, but not all.

CyberPower’s new Active PFC Adaptive Sinewave technology is the first to solve the critical compatibility issues of non-Sinewave UPS products working with computing systems using Active PFC power supplies (ENERGY STAR 5.0). CyberPower is constantly working with its partners to ensure customers like yourself are satisfied and we will continue to do so in this case. Please contact us at 877-297-6937 M-F 8-5 CST, or priority1@CPSww.com, so that we can act to completely address your issue and ensure your total satisfaction.

1 out of 5 eggsGet something else.

Pros: None.

Cons: Won't run anything other than my PC/monitor. Whenever I fire up a game, the breaker inside trips and it starts screaming (very high pitched tone). Unless you're running a nightlight and only a nightlight, get something else.

Other Thoughts: Get something by APC.

Manufacturer Response:

If you a connecting anything higher than 255 watts, such as a "gaming PC", the UPS will be overloaded and will alert you to the overload.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very cheap and effective. Have my TV and HTPC on this and it give me enough time to properly shutdown if need be.

Cons: Not powerful enought to run my stereo on, and does not give me much time to see if the power is coming back on or not. But you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: USB to HTPC allows the system to shut it self down when it need so if i'm not around. Also helps with the LED TV, i have found they don't like power fluctuations.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected with Dual Monitor workstation

Pros: I have been using this UPS for over a year to provide battery backup to a Dell Optiplex workstation with two dual 23" monitors. There have been several power failures and all equipment has remained on.

Very happy with this purchase.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Product

Pros: Easy to install, monitoring software is lightweight and has nice features.

Cons: Not networkable...

Other Thoughts: I use the battery powered outlets to power a HTPC, UVerse Gateway & DVR. The battery meter says I have 13 minutes of power.
