Power problems—including blackouts, brownouts, power surges and line noise—threaten your investment! They can damage or destroy PCs and other expensive equipment, wipe out valuable data and files, and degrade component performance. Get protected against these all-too-common power threats with Tripp Lite's INTERNET600U UPS System. In an ultra-compact housing, it provides reliable battery backup and eight 5-15R outlets. A 600VA/300W capacity provides ample capacity for a wide range of home office, workstation and point-of-sale applications. An 1170J surge suppression rating protects components on AC lines, and one set of tel/DSL jacks protects phone, modem and fax connections. EMI/RFI line noise filtering prevents hardware damage and performance problems such as poor-quality audio and video output. One USB port, when used with PowerAlert software (available from Tripp Lite as a free download), supports messaging of detailed UPS operational parameters and line power status plus direct monitoring of directly connected devices.

Ideal for Protection of Home or Office PCs and Peripherals

With a 600VA/300W capacity, reliable battery backup, tel/DSL jacks and an HID-compliant USB port, the INTERNET600U offers a complete power protection solution for a wide range of home and office electronics. The INTERNET600U features a split-outlet design with eight total AC outlets: four to provide battery backup support and surge protection for computers, monitors and other critical components; four to provide surge-only protection for peripherals that do not need battery backup, like printers and scanners.

Green High-Efficiency Design

An efficiency rating of more than 95% saves energy, lowering your electric bill and reducing your carbon footprint. High-efficiency models also consume fewer resources during manufacture and distribution than previous models.

Reliable Battery Backup

UPS battery backup support enables you to work through short power failures, and provides time to save files and perform an orderly system shutdown in case of a prolonged blackout. The INTERNET600U features an internal battery that provides 9.9 minutes of battery support for a half load (150W) and 3.4 minutes for a full load (300W). During normal operation, incoming utility power keeps the UPS battery fully charged so that backup power will always be available when needed.

Surge Suppression with Tel/DSL Jacks

A sudden power surge or spike can damage or destroy electronic components and wipe out irreplaceable data. The INTERNET600U features 1170J of built-in surge suppression to protect all connected components and the data they contain. Additionally, one set of tel/DSL jacks protects a standard phone, fax, modem or DSL connection.

EMI/RFI Line Noise Filtering

Various electromagnetic and radio sources can cause disruptive interference on the AC line. This line noise is a common cause of incremental hardware damage, data corruption and audio/video performance problems. The INTERNET600U incorporates technology that filters out disruptive line noise, preventing it from affecting your equipment.

USB Port and Free PowerAlert Software

The INTERNET600U features an HID-compliant USB port (USB cable included). Used with Tripp Lite's free PowerAlert software (available from Tripp Lite as a Web download), this USB port enables safe unattended system shutdown and file saves in the event of a prolonged power failure. The USB port also enables integration with built-in power management and auto shutdown features of Windows®, Linux® and Mac OS® X.

Diagnostic LEDs and Audible Alarm

The INTERNET600U features two LEDs that show power and protection status at a glance. An audible alarm sounds to alert users to power failure, overload and low-battery conditions.

Versatile Installation Options

The INTERNET600U features a space-saving, ultra-compact housing that fits on a desktop, a shelf or almost anywhere. Integrated keyhole mounting slots enable secure wall-mount installation.

Peace of Mind

The INTERNET600U is manufactured in compliance with strict RoHS specifications, reflecting Tripp Lite's commitment to environmental responsibility. For peace of mind, it comes backed by a three-year warranty and $100,000 of Ultimate Lifetime Insurance.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst backup ever

Pros: This backup unit is the worst I have ever had. I have always used APC and thought I would get this for my son. The first one I returned but it was defective but the replacement does the same. I unplug it from the wall and it shuts off, it does not even handle a slight surge when I turn on the vacuum. I will be returning this and getting an APC.

Cons: This have never worked, just an expensive surge protector

Other Thoughts: I would never recommend this to anyone, especially for a first time backup battery purchase.

Manufacturer Response:

Carl, we apologize for the experience you have had with the INTERNET600U. When testing a UPS, we highly discourage the pull-the-plug method. When you pull the plug, you disconnect the ground connection and if your computer is grounded through other connections, you can cause damage. This UPS allows for you to self-test the functionality of the product by short pressing the power button. Do not hold too long or you will turn it off. However, the UPS should have provided backup when you pulled the plug, as long as your load did not exceed the UPS capacity and as long as the battery was fully charged. Please reach out to our Chicago-based Tech Support Team at 773-869-1234 (M-F 7AM-6PM Central) so we can assist you.

2 out of 5 eggsSpend a little extra

Pros: Compact unit, nice features, transformer spaced plugins.
Worked Ok through a couple of minor brown outs.

Cons: The first real power surge while using this UPS fried my computer's motherboard and my Vonage Phone adapter that was plugged into it. Those were the only two things on the battery side.

Other Thoughts: I live in an area prone to spring power fluctuations, and have several computers; all on UPS.
In fairness, this unit seems to have survived the surge, not that I'll ever use it again, but that's a step above how my Rosewill unit faired.
The only equipment that wasn't damaged was that plugged into an APC unit.
