Pros: QUIET!!! Shreds faster & much quieter than Staples SPL-TXC18A. Cool down recovery much shorter. Jam proof feature works well.

Cons: Paper dust is high due to excellent ventilation (a tradeoff for longer run time and shorter overheat recovery). If you have sensitivity to dust get the staples SPL-TXC18A instead.
13Gal trash bags are too small to fit. Price is a bit high.

Other Thoughts: Compare prices with other online stores, you may save $.
Shredder is in between lite duty PRO & SOHO heavy duty.

Maybe I can add some filters over the vents on the inside to reduce dust. Using shredder cutter oil is strongly recommended, you can buy pre-oilled sheets or a large bottle and soak a page before you shred it. The oil helps release paper from packing into the cutter heads and helps keep the cutters sharp much longer.

Avg shredder life is 1 yr w/o oil and 5-6yrs with oil. You do the math...

Other Thoughts: This is a nice shredder. I needed something that could handle several sheets at a time, had a large basket, and a reasonably long run time before needing to cool down. This shredder does all that. The only problem I have with it is the Jam Proof feature. This is accomplished by having the shredder evaluate the paper that is placed into the feed, then simply refuse to start if it appears to be enough to cause a jam. This is fine in theory, but I found that even 3 or 4 sheets caused the red light to come on and have it refuse to start. It got old real quick, as I knew I was placing a relatively small amount of paper into a shredder that was supposed to handle much more. It would have been a deal breaker and I would have had to return it EXCEPT that there is a way to turn off the Jam Proof feature. After doing that, I am very happy with the shredder. It actually can handle a large amount of paper with no problem once the Jam Proof "Monitor" is deactivated.

Pros: Shreds plenty quickly and quietly. It takes all I throw at it without complaint. I now shred almost all paper waste prior to disposal since it so easy to do.

Cons: When using the bags with the collection bin they tend to get torn on removal. The clear panel at the front intended to let you see the fullness of the bin tend to catch the bottom of the waste bag so that it rips on removal.

Other Thoughts: This is the second unit I received, the first had obvious signs of use (paper scraps in shredder teeth and bin) and needed replaced. Second one was obviously new, bag around unit opened at top and could be used to remove unit from box. There was blue adhesive tape holding bin in place, which was not present on first unit.

Pros: I love this thing. I wish I could shred my garbage in it. My apartment is almost clean now with all the papers I used to have laying around. It looks pretty safe, can cut for ~20 minutes straight before needing to cool down, its really an ideal shredder.

Cons: There is a safety "mechanism" built into the removable garbage container that tells the SB-99Ci when the container is fully closed meaning it is safe to shred. The notch on the container pushes in a lever when it is fully closed, but mine did not make enough contact if any. I propped a peace of cardboard in there and all is well it wasn't worth shipping it back over. I don't have kids though so safety is not a concern for me, otherwise I would have had to ship this back since the container can be removed and if fed paper could be dangerous with a bunch of monkeys running around.

Other Thoughts: I want very badly to try and shred a pair of socks.
