3 out of 5 eggsIt's not the Motherboard

Pros: Excellent system with everything you need to have a very cheap fast machine.

Cons: Power supply is garbage. Everyone here is posting theres doa. I did as well but it's not the Motherboard it's the power supply. Just do yourself a favor and buy a different power supply with it and you'll be fine. Being a computer tech I should have at least tried a power supply but I did the same thing and tried different everything BUT power supply and sent it back . Newegg paid for all so no worries but down time. Got the new one and same exact issues. I couldn't open the dvd rom but when I unplugged the ide cable it would open .. strange.. I happened to have an old power supply sittin here and put it in and instant boot. Works flawless since.

Other Thoughts: This unit is worth every penny even with buying another power supply. But DEFINITIVELY BUY A POWER SUPPLY! With the low cost of high end processors and memory this can be a sweet little machine for hardly anything.

2 out of 5 eggs3 Years Warrenty Is Incorrect

Pros: Good base system, all components worked out of the box.

Cons: Asus only offers 1 year warrenty, not 3 years on this as described in the specifications. Power supply fan went dead in about the 16th month, no luck getting it replaced by ASUS after calling and speaking to their RMA department. I confirmed on their site that this only has a 1 year warranty, not 3 year. Note that the potential for having driver conflicts is high unless you just stick with drivers issued from Microsoft. You may also need to flash the bios (your mileage may vary). The included manual is useless and refers to multiple barebone Asus products rather than just this one (i.e. it says over and over that "may be included" or "may vary").

5 out of 5 eggsI want another one

Pros: How many one word descriptions can I use to describe this? Cheap, effective, durable, customizable, roomy, quiet, simple, and satiating. I built two of these for my mom and my friend and they are working perfectly. One was for general computing and one was geared more for gaming and they haven't had any problems with them for the whole duration of having them (9 months). The best part is that I built one for $300 and one for $350 (I needed to add a video card for gaming). Great little box.

Cons: I would like a few more PCI slots and SATA power plugs, but that's it.

Other Thoughts: I built two for other people and a gaming PC for myself, and I wish I would've built one of those for myself instead.

5 out of 5 eggsbest bang for your bucks!

Pros: hdmi, card reader, 8gb/4 slots memory cap, small form factor

Cons: none really. just setting up the audio drivers can be a hassle if you don't follow certain steps in bios before/after installing drivers

2 out of 5 eggslooks good, but...

Pros: The m-atx board looks great and barely makes a sound. the case itself reflects the motherboards' size and should fit on a desk easily.

Cons: Mine was DOA; judging from my experience and a number of the other reviews purchasing this barebone is a total gamble.

Other Thoughts: There is only one SATA power connection!

1 out of 5 eggswhats wrong with asus?

Pros: i cant think of any, unless you are lucky and dont get a DOA

Cons: Ok, this isnt my first bad experience with asus. i have one in my desktop right now that has acpi errors like you would not belive. this barebone, i get it in...and its DOA. its so dead the processor doesn't even get luke warm without the heatsink on. i figure no big deal, i will just RMA. the RMA went smooth and i got the new one in...and it was DOA. after reading comments on newegg, this isnt the first time this has happened with this particular barebone. its definatly the last time i use asus. their products are honestly not that great. MSI for me.

Other Thoughts: asus needs to fire people in quality control.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value and quality

Pros: In the past 6 months I've deployed about 20+ with both XP and Vista. I've used the twin Corsair 1 gig as well 4 of the Corsair for a total 4 gigs. Talking to Corsair I've had to increase the power to the RAM by 1 setting and this has always resolved any issues with it; this was on the advise of Corsiar's tech which was extremly helpfull. Also if want to go with 4 gigs of RAM you are better off with 2 -> 2 gig sticks; this has to do with power on the memory c
Make to to change the power for the CPU fan away from the default & set to the highest speed; upon reboot you will see the change take effect.
NOTE Before installing OS remove the cable from the card reader on the motherboard; else you won't have C: available for the hard drive. After the OS load you can reconnect them.
Also, make certian the power switch is set to the correct position; its on the back of the power supply.
Also, be carefull with the front panel and you will be fine; also it needs to on for the system to boo

Cons: I really cannot complain once I followed the above steps.

Other Thoughts: This also works great as a dual monitor solution; no need for additional video card and very easy ATI setup program. I use 4 of these for my internal work.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap, Quiet,

Cons: After BIOS upgrade refuses to recognize any more than 64MB ram. 2GB or Corsair DDR2 worked just fine before BIOS upgrade. Ram is also working just fine in a new motherboard.

1 out of 5 eggsI used to like Asus

Pros: nice looking box

Cons: I've had 2 that were DOA. Buyer beware!

Other Thoughts: It's really frustrating to wait & wait & have no clue whether the replacement will work (which in this case didn't).
I'm a bit wary of buying ASUS products now.
