5 out of 5 eggsSlim, easy to fit in crowded spaces, pretty quiet.

Pros: 1. Pretty blue circle light on top to let you know when it's powered on. (You can toggle off if needed.)
2. Size! This Zotac model is about the size of a small notebook PC with the screen part removed.
3. Bluray drive built in.
4. Quiet.
5. Low profile height was easy to slip into my already crowded entertainment tower. I didn't have to rewire other stuff that was already there to make space.
6. Guess what? The hardware is new enough to support Windows 10. I upgraded the OS recently.

Cons: 1. Not a speed demon. Hey, it's a dual core Ion processor with only two gig of RAM. One of these days I plan to max out the RAM and swap out the old HD for a SSD.

Other Thoughts: Yep. I'd recommend it to others. It has worked reliably for several years under light usage connected to our giant TV. Mainly used for those times we needed a full web browser. HD, RAM and such are upgrade-able.

2 out of 5 eggsFun while it lasted...

Pros: Perfect for my HTPC needs.

Cons: Died after 2 years.

Other Thoughts: I checked the power brick for voltage and it seemed fine. Once day after a shutdown it wouldn't turn back on.. I guess $300 isn't what it used to be.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes as advertised and a bit more

Pros: . Small form factor
. Low power usage
. Discreet but soldered-on GPU; some tasks can be GPU-accelerated

Cons: . CPU is really not powerful; don't compile a Linux kernel on this

Other Thoughts: It's a computer in a living room. For the price, over the years, and taking in account that it has a bluray player, it's been quite the satisfying little thing.

1 out of 5 eggsOK at best but a product should last more than 6 months

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Struggles with more than few apps running, video stutters, and now - 6 months in died.

Other Thoughts: running Win8

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Show

Pros: Small form factor allows for out of the way positioning. Does everything that large PC would do. Windows & installed on the one that I own with ease. Did another for a friend and installed Windows 8...he loves it. I have owned mine for over a year and I have it in my guest room and when I have visitors or family stay with me they are amazed at its functionality.

Cons: None that I can mention. If you are looking for high speed performance you should look to a larger computer. This computer fits the need of getting a HTPC at an economic price. Although I wish they would put them on sale every now and then. I know I would grab some up.

Other Thoughts: Want a HTPC that you can put out of the way...this is it. Want one that you can display with pride...this is it. Zotac did a great job designing this one. Wish they would put out a newer model that is capable of handling 8-16 GB of would then exceed the needs of many. I know I sound all positive about this PC as if it has no faults...for me it doesn't, in your case you might find one or two. I did not and I love the product...good job Zotac...oh yeah...where is my refund???

3 out of 5 eggsZotac ZboxHd-ID34BR

Pros: cheap & is mostly everything I want in a HTPC except below. If I can get Blu ray to work, this would be perfect.

Cons: Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 software does not play BLU Ray. It advises that I need to "update" the software for it to work but when I click "yes" for the update, it still doesn't work. Cyberlink also no longer supports PowerDVD 8. I have sent a message to Zotac but have not gotten a response.

Free 4MB of ram shipped with machine was wrong pin type. Didn't fit. Needs more than 2 MB stock

Other Thoughts: I haven't RMA this yet because I really like the machine except for the Bluray player. DVD's work. If I can get a solution, then I will keep it. I'm running this with Windows 7.

4 out of 5 eggsAddition to my other review

Pros: see other

Cons: see other

Other Thoughts: just a heads up, there is an nvidia update for the graphics that seemed to crash my system at least twice a day until i rolled it back. maybe just my system but no probs after rolling back.

On Tue 2/26/2013 6:24:00 PM GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\022613-10030-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: nvlddmkm.sys (nvlddmkm+0x7241C0)
Bugcheck code: 0x1000008E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFFFFF939521C0, 0xFFFFFFFF965E26A8, 0x0)
file path: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\nvlddmkm.sys
product: NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 314.07
company: NVIDIA Corporation
description: NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 314.07
Bug check description: This indicates that a kernel-mode program generated an exception which the error handler did not catch.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 314.07 , NVIDIA Corporation).

4 out of 5 eggsNice little system we got here

Pros: Slim and sleek set up. BR drive is a plus if you are in need of an included drive. Upgraded to 4gb ram and slapped in a 256gb ssd and this baby is purring right along!

Install of windows 7 went well and all the drivers were loaded nicely with the help of the included driver cd.

HDMI works great on my 26" tv.

Cons: Wish it had more usb ports. But thats what they make a hub for huh? Analog on the front is kinda stupid. Most people I know don't have an optical computer speaker setup and having a 3.5mm plug always coming from the front is not only tacky, its a bit cumbersome when using the front usb 3.0.

Other Thoughts: I bought this as a desktop replacement. I don't do any gaming, CAD, or anything memory/cpu intensive so this was an easy choice. Are there cheaper models out there? Sure. Are there smaller options out there? Sure. Could I have bought a laptop with better specs for just as cheap? Sure. But I didn't. And I'm glad I didn't. This won't be for everyone so please do research on it first. Google and YT are your friends :)

And yes, the blue light can be turned off. And yes YOU WILL NEED AN OS to install.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Deal

Pros: This machine is really a lot of bang for the buck. I just got it in, and Windows 7 32bit was a snap to install. I upgraded the machine to 4Gb ram and that was cake as well. I haven't had an opportunity to try the HDMI ports yet, but the driver disk that came with the machine was very easy to use.

Cons: It does feel a bit flimsy, but I expected as much for $279. I really can't complain though. The machine is plenty fast for what we're using it for.

Other Thoughts: At this price, if you can sacrifice the capacity, I'd strongly recommend a good sized SSD. The 250Gb that this comes with is fine, but solid state would really make this thing sing. I chose to stay with the analog drive because it works and it has descent capacity.

4 out of 5 eggsNetflix HD on Windows 8 :)

Pros: Finally got Netflix HD to work, the solution is Windows 8 since it has a native app. Hulu Plus also works well here.

Cons: Some video content accessible only through the browser will not play well due to hardware acceleration issues with ION and 3rd party plug ins

Other Thoughts: 2GB's RAM is all used up by the time Windows is up and running. You're going to want 3 or 4GB.
