what's the operation system?? window 7?? and does have other color to choose from??

I use Windows 7  64 bit but you could also use Linux. 
It does NOT come with an operating system s and as far as I know it only comes in black.
I have found this to be a very satisfactory unit and with my upgrades
(SSD drive and video card from newegg) all my Win scores are above 7.

Question 2

So I am assuming this comes with no disc drive or OS installed. I would need a disc drive in order to install windows correct? or a thumb drive with windows on that somehow? first time doing this so im a little confused. thanks!

This system ships with a 1TB hard drive and a DVD±RW drive.  It does not ship with an OS.  You can use the optical drive or thumb drive to load an OS.

What is the capacity and type the graphics card and cpu? And what additional purchases would I require to make?

The CPU is a 3.80GHz Quad-Core AMD FX-4130.  The GPU is and integrated Radeon HD 3000.

The system does not ship with an OS, so you would need to obtain and install one.

I purchased this barebones unit and am so far really happy with it.  I do have 4 questions.

I have a USB3.0 Samsung External HD and I have tried it in both of the front USB3.0 ports and it is not recognized at all.  If I plug it into the USB2.0 port it is recognized right away.

When I check the Device Manager it shows a conflict in the Other Devices category.  It has this error.  xHCI Root Hub 0.
 
I bought a Orico USB 3.0 multi-card reader and can't mount it in the only available external expansion port as it is nearly 6 inches wide and the card reader is 4 inches wide.  What do I need to be able to mount this?

My final question is, do the fan lights color mean anything?  Last night they were red and this morning they are blue.

I would really appreciate as much info that you can give me.

I solved the USB3.0 problem.  The system was able to find the driver for the xHCI Root Hub 0 and install it.  Why it didn't install it the other two times I ran the Gigabyte install cd, but it didn't.

Whats the mother board?

It's a Gigabyte. Good board, but it won't boot to the front USB ports, only the rear.

What are those two vertically stacked circular-shaped parts on the front of the case? Speakers or vents or ?

Vents for fans, not speakers unfortunately.

I want to boost the memory to 16 gb. How can I order it that way?

The system ships with 8MB of DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800) memory installed in a single stick, and with four memory slots (3 available) is expandable to a maximum of 32GB.

To reach your desired total of 16GB, you would need to order additional memory and install it upon receipt of the system.
