Pros: I purchased this little guy to back up the computers in my parent's house (1 laptop and 1 desktop both using XP). This little guy runs nightly to backup their machines and allows me to connect remotely to manage their network from both home and work. So far so good, as I have already had to do one restore when hal.dll went missing in Windows XP. The restore took about 20 min over the phone rather than me spending half my Christmas break formatting and reinstalling Windows. WHS appears to be a great product from MS.
Cons: Of course 640GB is small in our digital world, but my parents only have around 80gigs of data to backup between two machines. This guy should have plenty of space to keep them backed up for the next few years.
Other Thoughts: Overall a neat little machine. If I was to use WHS for myself, I would probably piece together something beefier, but it really does meet their needs. Thanks Newegg for a eggcelent price and ultra fast shipping.

Great Home Server

Pros: This is really a great little home server. For me; smaller, lower power but still with all the features of larger Home Servers is the way to go. In my house it backs up a PC and two laptops, one of which is a MAC and it streams my music to my Squeezebox player and video to my X-Box. This little Server has been running 24/7 for several months now. I can’t imagine needing anything more. I upgraded from a NAS, which in comparison was buggy, hard to configure and frankly I didn't trust it with my data.
Cons: Its now priced lowere then when i bought it ;-(
Other Thoughts: Remote access to my data and music is a nice feature.

Pros: small footprint, automatic backup, solid server 2003 codebase. I use these all the time in a small biz office w/less than 10 systems. Tons of value for the price.

Other Thoughts: When installed in a business office, always disable all HP media server, Twonky server apps. 1.6 GHZ atom is plenty for file server, backups, remote access

Pros: Very small (bookshelf size), very quiet, extremely low power and you can get it to sleep. It does have Windows Home Server included and that works very well. Everything gets backed up each night. For what you pay, you get a lot with this unit. I've had it running for about a month and it was easier to setup than the WHS rackmount system I replaced.
Cons: There is very little not to like with this unit. Some folks have commented on the temp of the internal HD. That's a concern to me as well, but I have a fan on it and it seems to have taken care of the problem (I didn't knock off any stars). Otherwise, it is not particularly fast, but it doesn't have to be for what it does.
Other Thoughts: As time has gone by, reliable low power units have become available off the shelf. This is one of the best solutions for this niche market. It is really nice that it includes WHS in the price. When this is taken into account, the system is dirt cheap (assuming you can acquire it on sale). Mine lives on a bookshelf in the back of the rec room. Though I can check it over the network, it also has a multicolor status light on the face telling me how things are going with it. On my daily exercise walks through the house, I need only glance at it, and I'm told whether I need to check it from my office as it is a headless box. Again, not a problem. It's a great appliance backing up 9 systems. With external USB drives, there is no effective limitation on the storage capability of the unit.

Cons: Small 500GB, Can't add additional hds internally
Other Thoughts: If you wanted to add additional hds, then you need to use the usb ports. For the price, it is wonderful.
