5 out of 5 eggsGREAT for people on the GO!

Pros: Music, Photos, Movies, TV Shows, WOW! This thing is the THIRD PSP I've owned, and is faster than the original. I bought a few memory sticks and load some with music (A TON of music), DVD concert videos, DVD Movies, DVD TV shows, and now with the Dgital Download stuff that's on some DVDs. GREAT! The screen is perfect for traveling, being stuck at the airport, WOW! AND.... you can get the SONY headphone/mic setup and use SKYPE! What are these people talking about..."there's no phone in it"! I am constantly amazed at this little thing, especially when I connect it wirelessly into my PS3! It becomes the controller, or I can play stuff from the PSP through the PS3 onto the HD TV! And I can play stuff from the PS3 onto the PSP?!?! I can also connect this thing directly into my HDTV using the Component Cable? FANTASTIC! I LOVE THIS THING!

Cons: I wish SONY would have made the PSP use the MiniDisc format, rather than UMD. UMD is okay, and it's not a bad technology. But if you're going to use a disc as part of the system, please put out a recordable version of it for a computer so I can put stuff on the disc. If the UMD was re-writeable like MiniDisc is for audio, then that would be cool. But it doesn't detract from the 5 egg rating!

Other Thoughts: I love the cry babys here. I've worked in technology so long that I remember when BETAMAX was brought into homes. Yeah, I'm 53, a techno freak by profession, but my nieces and nephews love it! I've got all the cool stuff for them to try and play with before they buy it! I've got 3 iPods, an iPhone, 3 PSPs (1000, 2000, and 3000 series), Minidisc, Cassettes, Beta, VHS, LaserDisc, on and on and on.....

Quit whining and learn the capabilites of what you're buying before hand! You're the INTERNET GENERATION...USE THE &*$%# THING! (oh, and for converting videos, try cucusoft's DVD Converter or anything from Slysoft. You pay for it, but never had a problem converting to PSP or iPod!)

3 out of 5 eggsVery......Um.....

Pros: Gets very bring after a while....unless you have the money and or time to play games....do not purchase. Sony is a very good distributor. They sucked me into the PSP world and i finally got out.....3 years later. Its pretty addicting....thats not a good thing. If your a hardcore gamer and can control it....fine....waste ur money....

Cons: Great games,music,photos,video,browser......yep....thats it..

Other Thoughts: THIS THING IS FREAKING BORING!!!!

1 out of 5 eggsDont know what's going on.....

Pros: None so far...

Cons: I ordered it 3 days before a friend ordered it from another company, and they received theirs before mine. I still haven't got mine yet.

Other Thoughts: Maybe I should have ordered from the same company they did.

2 out of 5 eggsTA-088v3? No good.

Pros: Very high screen resolution - graphics are AMAZING for a hand held console in my opinion. Can connect to my TV, wireless network, PS3, camera, etc. Can get PS1 games on it from the Sony online store. Can get demos through PSP sony store, and it works great as an MP3 player!

Cons: I bought this specifically so I could put PS1 games on it and play multi-player on long trips. Received it, updated to 5.02 firmware so I could get to the PSP store, got a PS1 game from the Sony store, and turns out it's not multiplayer? What's up with that! I thought it had regular Ps1 support. Anyways, went online, looked for ways to play PS1 games multiplayer, and found out I have to mod it. Did more research, found out about the battery mod to make it "Pandora". Tried EVERY METHOD for modding the battery, and nothing worked. It still boots the PSP normal, without putting into service mode. Well, anyways, find out it's the version of the battery that can't be modded. Something about certain "Made in China" types that don't work. Anyways, read about these new "TA-088v3" motherboards that can't be modded. Looked at my PSP serial number, and turns out that I have one.

Other Thoughts: Well, I would return it, but it's not fair to Newegg, as it was probly my fault for not looking into the PSP store a little more. Besides, I already tampered with the battery. I got a little too jumpy at the thought of hand held PS1 and jumped myself into $160 down the drain. The online selection of PS1 games available for the PSP through Sony is ASTOUNDINGLY smaller than what I thought it was. Buyer beware - if you're buying for PS1 games like I am, beware of TA-088v3. No good. Also - PS1 games aren't multiplayer through PSP Sony Online store: even tekken. IT = LAME. Only Psone multiplayer on PSP is through Modding, which can't be done with TA-088v3! I think I'll try to sell it so I can buy another one from a regular store where I can check the numbers on the box before buying. I still want my PSone in my pocket; my PSone with LCD screen is way too large for trips, and keeps sliding off my lap in the car.

4 out of 5 eggsMissing Phone

Pros: Has more than a few functions. With the right tweaking this thing is an all-in-one mp3 player, movie player, web browser,
and of course hand-held console. All this thing is missing is a phone functionality. You can even hook it up to your HDTV. you can also hook it up to older TV's via standard A/V hook ups but its not worth it.

Cons: Could do with more storage space (highest capacity mem. stick is 8Gb). The only solution I can think of is to buy multiple sticks, which gets costly. Tweaking takes jumping threw a couple hoops (time and either money or danger). New Memory duo sticks are outrageously expensive; $80 for 4GB!

Other Thoughts: If your wanting a cheap solution to getting a console don't look here. After all is said and done, if your hooking it up to your TV, might as well just buy a PS2. But if your a frequent traveler or just someone who walks or commutes a lot this is definitely the best choice. Especially after you tweak it.

Pros: I made my order and 2 days later they were at my house and I just made another order late last night and they have already shipped them out less than 24 hours later they are awsome and I got exactly what I expected.

Cons: No cons at this point.

Other Thoughts: I will be using them for ALOT!
