5 out of 5 eggsPS3 best vaule for your money

Pros: great machine that can do a lot play dvds play cds play mp3 cds play blu-ray and depending on the model you have memory card readers and can play ps1 and ps2 games and its a very durable system that can take being droped and being left on for days at a time you can put pics on it you can upgrade the hard drive very easyly it is a very fast system 3.2GHZ that upscales dvds very good and the online is free and you can put music on it and search the web with it and it has blue tooth and it turns on very fast and it very rarely frezze's or shuts off randomly

Cons: when i got it 1 year and 8 months ago it was a bit expenseive but you get what you pay for and the price has gone done it also weights a good amount and i wish it had more ram

4 out of 5 eggsImpressive

Pros: Powerful machine! I think the PS3 is a device that is a head of the rest in terms of a complete entertainment system. Overall very happy with it. Although I still have not tried playing Blue Ray DVD's but watching quality of watching normal DVD's with it is great enough. Playing PS3 games on V series LCD is an enjoyable experience.

Cons: More than half the time I spend on the PS3 is spent using it's online feature which is connected through a wireless network. The PS3 seems to freeze on me too often and needs to be turned off/ on to be accessed again. I try to empty cash as often as poossible and it still does it. The lack of video players will mean that more than half the streaming content on the web unaccesable!

Other Thoughts: I'm very pleased with the PS3 and personally do believe its ahead of the pack due to it's web access capabilities and I recommend it to my friends who are very interested in web access... but unless the PS improves the variety of web streaming content players it's just another gaming unit and that's why I give it a 4 star.

3 out of 5 eggsGood console, but very hot, with limited exclusives.

Pros: Great blu-ray player, free online service, and exclusive games that are not available on PC.

Cons: If you're in a small room, it heats up the whole thing, and can burn out, despite the huge casing.

Online service is lacking, and not quite as up to snuff as Xbox Live, however, it is free...

It has many great exclusives in genres like JRPG's, fighting (G** Of War 3), and other random genres (Little Big Planet), but is lacking in both Western RPG exclusives (I honestly can't think of a major PS3 exclusive WRPG) and shooters (Only Killzone 2 and Resistance 1)

Games can have pretty brutal load times if you dont install them, but that's more game on disc optimization than anything else.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I feel the Xbox 360 is the better console for those interested in the western market, such as myself.

However, the PS3 is good for those interested in sports, JRPGs and hack n' slash.

I've had my 360 for 3 years (I still have the first gen 20GB) and it still hasn't RRoD'd. The general rule fore current gen consoles is to keep them cool. If you keep them cool, they should last you.

4 out of 5 eggsGlad I Finally Decided to Get one

Pros: Quick Loading games, Tons of Storage, Some nice titles that I could not get for PC, I can now play.

Blue ray addition a big plus.

Cons: The internet connection is kind of iffy. It only gets a 25% connection to my router when my laptop in the same room gets a 89%. Not sure how this will fare playing multiplayer.

It gets hot.

The True High Def on the Blue Rays doesnt show up on my new Onkyo system when connecting via HDMI.

Games can be pricey.

5 out of 5 eggsVersatile gaming platform

Pros: This console has really came a long way from when it launched. The PS3 has a great game library now, with many more on the way. Free PSN, built in wi-fi, blu-ray, customizable with any size 2.5" hard drive. The PSN has also improved by leaps and bounds, with tons of content available.

Cons: Sony removed backwards compatibility with the PS2. It still plays PS1 games both off the disk, and downloaded from PSN, but the emotion engine that was present in the launch consoles is now gone, and so is PS2 BC. I think this was a horrible decision, but I can live without it, as PS2's are a dime a dozen.

Other Thoughts: I originally owned a 60gb launch console, but sold it after the first year because it was disappointing. Every multi-platform title was better on the 360, and the PS3 had a very slim library of decent exclusives. I ended up missing the PS3 not too long after I sold it, so I decided to go ahead an purchase another one, and I'm glad I did. Alot has changed, and Sony is now positioning themselves to provide an amazing product. I have heard talks of a PS3 slim model releasing this fall, and rumors are also speaking of a $100 price drop. I don't know if this is true, but at this point, $399 is a bargain for everything your getting. No need to wait if you want the best gaming console available. The future looks good for Sony, and this years E3 was really impressive. The PS3 is really coming into its own, its a bummer it took them a while to do so, but it's definitely been worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsbest console by far

Pros: this is by far the best console ever. you can play so many sony ps3 exclusive games and I never have to buy any multi platform games at all. i have LBP, metal gear solid 4, killzone 2, gt5p, motormstorm pacific rift and i am never bored.

Cons: sometimes i get kicked out from online games but that is ok. online is free!

Other Thoughts: i was thinking of getting xbox360 to help out US economy by buying us products, but the reliability issues with xbox360 scared me away. i love ps3 exclusive titles!!!! I have two ps3 and no regrets!

4 out of 5 eggsResearch Before Buying

Pros: Its a PS3, Most powerful system available.

Cons: Read tech specs before purchase. Does not include card reader or extra two USB ports. This is the same as the old 40GB model that is not compatible with PS2 games. Shame on S0ny for misleading buyers, (or confusing at least).

Other Thoughts: I'm sure it will work fine if you do not need PS2 compatibility or read memory cards without an adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsps3 vs. 360

Pros: The Sony Playstation 3 has been a great system and asset to my home. It's a fantastic DVD and Blu-Ray player which is what I use it for most of the time. I had owned an Xbox 360 previously but I sold it due to malfunctioning numerous times. The Xbox 360 was a very good system too. Many people tend to argue about Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 and failed to realize that both systems are great, and that they both are meant for different purposes. If you are into multimedia, go for the Playstation 3. If you are a hard-core gamer, you should go out and buy the Xbox 360. Initially the Xbox 360 will cost less than the Playstation 3, but after buying a wireless internet adapter, and so on, the price of an Xbox 360 isn't so low. All in all, the Playstation 3 has been a great console to own and has worked flawlessly for well over 2 years.

Cons: The cons of this system is its size, controllers, and lack of an HDMI cable. The PS3 is very big and could possibly be hard to place in your media center. The Xbox 360 controller is a lot better than the PS3 controller. Last but not least, shouldn't a system that promotes and endorses 1080p come packaged with a cable that delivers 1080p performance? This isn't really a con, as I bought a relatively cheap HDMI cable of the internet for $2.99 for 10ft.
