This is the one to get
- Pros: Very sturdy. Hasnt failed on me yet. Every friend that has the Rock Band guitar has had it die on them. Not this one. Three years and still kicking like the day I took it home.
Just feels right. In my hands this is the only guitar controller I have ever used that just felt right. More of a personal preference, but still worth mentioning.
Really cheap now.
Can work on your PC if you get into Frets on Fire, an open-source freeware Guitar Hero clone.
- Cons: Not wireless. To me thats not a con, but it will be to some.
No slide bar. Again, to me thats not a con because IMO the slide bar is a gimmick. A completely unneeded feature on the guitar at that.
No second set of buttons up top. Again, just a gimmick. This is more for people who want to show off. And once again, completely unneeded.
- Other Thoughts: Well basically what we have is the old, simple version of the Guitar Hero controller. But in my experience, simple is good because simplicity is easy to maintain, easy to fix and less things to break on you. I cannot speak for every individual X-Plorer guitar controller ever made, but mine is like old faithful and I can see myself still using this years into the future. Get it.
Best GH controller
- Pros: Pretty sturdy. Mine has taken a beating over the past couple of years and it's still going strong.
Comfortable. This one just feels the most natural out of all of the controllers.
Price - most of the GH controllers are way overpriced.
- Cons: A little noisy, but meh, it's plastic. Whammy bars on these get loose and start drooping, but it's an easy fix.
I did have to replace the spring on my whammy bar with rubber bands because the tab that holds the spring broke, but it still works perfectly.
- Pros: Amazing value to play all guitar hero games on PC
- Cons: doesn't have the slider for world tour but that's ok, it's cheap!
