Use V.A.T.S. to pause time in combat, target specific enemy body parts and queue up attacks, or get right to the action using the finely-tuned real-time combat mechanics.

3 out of 5 eggsFun game...has bugs though

Pros: Great game, good story, takes days to finish, nice graphics.

Cons: The game locks up a lot.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you save frequently just in case the game freezes and you have to do a hard reset.

5 out of 5 eggsBuy this game

Pros: Great game. Very long game so you get your value out of the purchase.

Cons: It has some glitches and crashes from time to time. Not as polished as Fallout 3 was.

5 out of 5 eggsFabulous Game

Pros: Great game as a successor to Fallout 3.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I hope there is a successor to Fallout New Vegas. My grandson finished the game in three days; it was a Christmas present

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The game was amazing and the price at the time was $40, making it a steal! I would never go back on this purchase because this game has an infinite amount of replay value.

Cons: None.

3 out of 5 eggsWait until game of the year edition if they make it

Pros: Huge map, your decisions make more of a difference as to who will and won't shoot at you. Fun to play but gets repetitive.

Cons: Glitches Glitches Glitches. The game never froze up on me until the last update. It's absolutely pathetic that this game got released in this condition. I get trapped behind walls all the time, sometimes falling to my death beneath the map. When I was playing Fallout 3 I could hardly put down the controller, Fallout New Vegas I get bored after about 1 - 2 hrs.

Other Thoughts: I didn't get the game on release because of the bugs in Fallout 3. Those weren't even a problem for me but I figured there would be a couple to fix, but they're everywhere in this game. While it's pretty glitchy it still is a lot of fun between glitches.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Gaming Experience

Pros: None

Cons: See "Other Thoughts"

Other Thoughts: I purchased this game on launch day back in October of last year. From that day to today, Jan. 3/2011. There has been about 3 to 4 title updates (patches) for the game that have been released to fix bugs and add stability to the game. The latest patch still hasn't fixed anything! Has Bethesda/Obsidian got the game running stable? ABSOLUTELY NOT! The game will crash/hang/glitch on you every few minutes to an hour or so. I've wasted almost 120 hours of my life trying to play this game on two different attempts and on different video game systems. This game will leave a very sour taste in your mouth and makes gaming look bad in general. I recommend you stay away from this title! Spend your money on a better game. If you do decide to purchase this game, don't say I didn't warn you.

Systems I tested the game on

-Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite Slim 250GB
-Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade
-Alienware M11x PC
-Sony PlayStation 3 Slim 160GB

(Zero Day to current patch

3 out of 5 eggsNew Vegas, Old Game

Pros: Lots of upgrades from the previous game (Fallout 3). Hardcore mode
Tougher enemies
Destinations are closer to each other and in abundance
Tons of side quests
Factions are a neat addition
Food and edible plants added to recover health
Perks are more important, since you get fewer and they can really give you an advantage
Multiple safe houses
Multiple companions to choose from
Can have 2 companions at a time (1 main and 1 bot or dog)
You don't have to find 'bobbleheads' to upgrade your skills and books are not as abundant (except magazines are everywhere some more than others)

Cons: Ok, so why would they create sub side quests that don't show up as real quests on your Pip Boy and don't give any hints on how to accomplish them?
Hardcore mode isn't very hard, especially after you find a good gun, because caps are still abundant and ammo can be purchased from several vendors or made at ammo benches.
Certain quests ask you to travel back and forth to the same places multiple times (annoying). Bugs galore.
There really aren't any cool recipes/schematics, at least that I have found. The Rock-It Launcher schematic was found, but can't be made...
Factions don't really have that much of an effect.
Story isn't really that compelling.
Lots of VATS perks, but that's just because I don't really like VATS

Other Thoughts: This is a good game (besides the bugs and the repetitive quests) and is a nice improvement over Fallout 3. It seems like there are fewer unique weapons and some are owned by NPCs which you'll have to kill them to get them (or disarm them and take it). There are several places you can call home, but you'll only want to use one. I wish hardcore was more hardcore, because what's the point of playing hardcore when you can buy/find doctors bags almost anywhere and you only need to eat once every couple days, drink a couple times a day (water is more frequent and clean), and sleep once a week before any detrimental effects take place.

4 out of 5 eggsWide Open Spaces.

Pros: Great Game play. Many many hours spent, the game almost seems endless with all the side missions.

Cons: BIG TIME BUGS! It's almost offensive at how buggy this game is.

Other Thoughts: Would buy it again.
