3 out of 5 eggsUpdated review

Pros: Good range
clear calls
4 handsets
intercom system

Cons: useless answering machine
poor display setup

Other Thoughts: I see that Newegg updated the description after my last review. I kept the phone so I thought I would do a review of the phone now that I've used it some.

Because the base has no interaction, the answering machine must use the handsets. This makes it about as useful as just using the voice mail that comes with almost every phone service.

The display is kinda useless and doesn't present the level of information you would expect, especially considering the handsets really are the answering machine.

I don't have the backlight, time set or CID issues of the other reviewer had.

All in all a decent phone but a bit pricy at full price. The intercom system is nice because it essentially turns your handsets into walkie-talkies if you need them to do a project around the house, or just send a message upstairs.

It doesn't bother me having this phone, but I would buy a different one if I had to do it over.

3 out of 5 eggsCould be better.

Pros: It works. Comparatively less expensive.

Cons: Compared to a several year old Uniden DECT 6.0 that broke: Audio quality seems worse, the ringers are terrible, and none of the bases are wall mountable.

1 out of 5 eggsFrustrating.

Pros: Sleek appearance, good sound quality.

Cons: Time is never right, Keypad not backlit, no ability to screen calls, caller ID doesn't work at all despite having that feature with my phone service, caller ID never displays information from the phone book even when the numbers are exactly the same, multi-function buttons aren't intuitive at all, frequently the handsets lose connection with the base, annoying message playback (you can accidentally turn off your answering machine once you've listened to your messages, if you aren't careful)

Other Thoughts: I genuinely wish I'd never made this purchase. Our old phone system was awful, but this was not only terrible but an absolute waste of money. Stay far, far away from this phone.

No matter what you set the time on the phone to it will always change itself to an hour ahead or an hour behind. The keypad isn't backlit, so if you need to make a quick call in the dark, you're out of luck. Caller ID doesn't work at all--it only displays the number, not the name, even when the number matches information in the phone book. Speaking of the phone book, each handset has its own phonebook and there's no way to share between them. The multi-function buttons are an absolute PITA to make sense of. The handsets constantly beep and go into "Searching" mode because they lose connection with the base unit--my home is not large, and I have never had signal issues with past cordless phones. When you play back messages there's no easy way to delete them unless you want to replay them and delete them then--there's no option to do so after the message has been listened to, and if you aren't quick you'll delete the message after it instead. Once you're finished listening to the messages, be careful of what button you press because you could wind up turning your answering machine off, since that's the menu the phone defaults to after playback.

This phone is a total lemon and barely works.
